LG OLED G4 review! Is it the best 2024 OLED TV? (comparison with G3, S95D and TCL C855)!
LG OLED55G4 is the top-end 2024 OLED with MLA matrix. The test shows that it is similar to G3, but has a few improvements. In the confrontation with Samsung S95D it is similar in terms of image quality and offers more functions.

Choose.TV is a new channel focusing on professional testing of #tvs #projector and #monitor
I am very happy to have come across this channel, the reviews are thorough and detailed and the presenter is very knowledgeable. Only recommendation for improvement I have is to speak a bit slower, as the slight accent makes it hard to understand on a rare occasions.
Fantastic video, looking forward to more contact on this channel!
This review was produced with such high quality. I have no doubt your channel will become a highly respected source for consumers. Thank you.
Such a great professional review!C855 review please Thanks
What the best?
High end TV’s are like pickles in a grocery store, you choose your favorite one, someone else chooses their favorite, both are equally valid because people want different things. Really it depends on your specific use case.

This was an amazing review, well done! As a G3 owner, I’m so glad you covered the fact that the increased out-of-the-box sharpness of the G4 can be matched by changing settings on the G3, as I suspected this! Would you please let us know what settings on my G3 I can change to match the G4s native sharpness? Thank you!
Lüge 😮 the the best tv is s95d
Don't waste your money on the S95D, the mat finish is dreadful
LG supply an even better mla panel to Panasonic and Philips for the z95a and 909
Can you measure s90d service menu brigtness maxlux and s95d maxlux mod thanks
Can someone measure motion interpolation fast faster fastest and is the fastest 120 fbs or 144.case on s90d fortnite ps5 120fbs feels slower compared 4k 60 with motion interpolation
Nice comprehensive review. I got my G4 55in not too long ago to use exclusively as a PC monitor and I don't have too many complaints, it looks great.
Great review, I didn't expect it! Just missed a few words regarding the comparison to the A95L.
Wow. Great review.
I really hope you would be able to cover the Sony bravia 9 miniLED tv. It is the most talked and interesting tv to release this tv.
Might be the most about but once I seen it..... It's the most disappointing TV I've ever seen, just a glorified LCD TV with really poor contrast really bad viewing angles doesn't compare even close to OLED picture quality... The Barvia 8 looks a thousand times better...
Cool review , one of the best 1 have seen for G4 and I have seen them all most of them are infomercials for lg yours was the first review and in-depth , good blend of content and details just slow down a bit , great subscribed
She already did 😅
I have the G4 and I can confirm that the posterization is the only real weakness of the TV. Without smooth gradation it is very bad but putting it on low works fine for me. But it is important to mention that this feature doesn't work in game mode. Playing Tears of the Kingdom with a lot of sky scenes I do notice it sometimes but doesn't really effect the overall experience. I'm happy with my 77 inch model.
You can use Colorcontrol and turn on 8bit dithering with "Temporal" algorithm which removes all banding. This is if you're using your G4 connected to a PC.
@@BeatelementhePiH I wonder if smooth gradation not working in game mode is a hardware limitation or a software bug? Though seeing as reviews mentioned it a few months ago I’m guessing it’s just a hardware thing.
This is BY FAR the best review on RUclips. You covered things that no other reviewers speak on, like how deep OLED blacks have worsened when being compared with original OLED screens. While the increased screen brightness is nice, It's sad to see OLED contrast getting worse when using either Quantum dots or MLA to get there. I may have to rethink upgrading to the G4 this year after seeing those lifted blacks in the comparison shots, and QD-OLED is out of the question, as the lifted black issue is even worse with those. Anyway, thanks for demonstrating this in a way no other reviewers care to. 🙏
Thanks! Feel free to share it on Facebook, AV forums etc ;)
Realy extreamly good review… but, please try to speak a bit slower.
totally disagree, i usually watch all videos at 1.5x speed, and everything is perfectly clear, including this one. when i switched to 1.0x, it felt like the world slowed down, and I was like Neo dodging bullets. As for the video itself, it's perfect, just like on the Polish channel <3
Thank you for covering the interpolation aspect of the TV. You are the only channel that does that. This is very important to me since I hate the 24p stutter of movies. Liked and subbed.
No 24p stutter on my TV at all man.👍🏻
Finally a channel that doesn't demonize fame interpolation. Thank you so much. Which TV does the interpolation best? This is the most important aspect of the TV to me because I hate the stutter of 24p.
Well, we tried several times to establish a procedure to test for interpolation artifacts but it’s extremely hard. Some TVs will be clean in one scene but messy in the other while other will do the opposite. All premium tvs from popular brands should do the job and I’m unable to say which is better than the other in general.
Fantastic review. I particularly appreciate how you evaluate the out of the box picture quality & explain how it differs from reference.
People only hate fake created frames. If everything was distributed in 60fps from the get-go then you wouldn't have to deal with artifacts. I blame the distributors and directors. It all starts with them
8K TVs are not good for the environment, they need a lot more power to run and for what? So legacy content can look even more stretched out? Non-native resolutions are the worst part of higher resolution screens, 8K just exacerbates it
great video but slow down. talking way too fast!
For anyone that sees this, the box is specifically designed so the stand can be put on with it staying upright. It has three separate styrofoam sections along the bottom, one large one under the middle, and two smaller ones on the sides. Those smaller side ones slide out, the TV stays standing from the center one, and the feet can be attached. That is probably in those instructions ignored, lol. Thanks for the video.
Sorry to to that was not a good idea what did with Hisense buy putting it on the table 🥴😱 Thank you for the demo and info 👏🏼👍🏼🏴🇬🇧
Is it possible to play games on it?
Yes. It features HDMI port with HDCP so any source will run with no problem. Not sure about the input lag though ;)
@@ChooseDotTV we should buy one and try it out
Were you able to count the number of dimming zones?
No chance. But guessing from the effect that happened on gray background I think it’s around 10 vertically and 5 horizontally.
Talks to fast. Cannot understand her need to slow down and speak clearly
We had a problem with microphone this time :( That's why we hand made subtitles.
👍 Some charts would be nice. Grayscale tracking data, white balance stability per level. Maybe menu system showcase. BFI implementation in detail please.
In the end of August you'll find it all on our website ;)

Bright of the tv is not everything is very bad for the eye's the DV is important i saw the different with and without some movies is to beautiful to watch by Lg black is real black Pardon 7:36 she said samsung with hdr10 look the same to lg g3dolby vision that is total not true or i have sharper eye's the Lg is 10 times nicer
It’s not the same but it’s very close with minor differences in brightest lights. Remember we are talking about calibrated HDR10 and DV modes.
Well done. 8k is only good when you walk close to the screen to see sharp picture. But nobody should be paying for that double, triple or quadruple.
I don't know, may be big TVs do benefit from High res
@@mindrover777 would need to be really big - way above field of view 40 hence not very useful. But what we would benefit from is image processing - to take low bitrate and or low resolution image and make it look like native high bitrate 4k. That would be a game changer for bigger screens that show low quality content in bad light. I would think Samsungs 8k would somewhat enhance the source that it could look better than similar 4k screen.
@@whitecrowuk575 that's not possible beyond a certain threshold. This isn't magic. We are talking about filling in the info which isn't there. Not an ideal scenario by any means
@@mindrover777 neural network/machine learning- already available like on nvidia shield and to some extent done on new 900D as well. It’s guessing the material and trying to reproduce the detail. It’s matter of time not if before it gets really good and will be a standard.
Hi, could you explain why the lg woled c4/ g4 shows way more color luminance in many colorful scenes compared to the more capable s90d/s95d qd-oled tvs? ruclips.net/video/o0cUipF5cAI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/qv1EZhxw-1c/видео.html I'd really like to know which tv is closer to reference. (FMM, no dtm) Could you make a comparison to a reference monitor?
As soon we can get our hands on S90D we will be able to answer. My guess is that G4 (which is around 1450 nuts peak white) is simply brighter than S90D.
@@ChooseDotTV no, lg c4 has also more saturated colors than the s90d in several scenes despite set to fmm and the higher capabilities of qd-oled reguarding color brightness. It's considered to be some type of undefeatable tonemapping and applies to lg g4/c4 vs s95d/s95d comparisons. Just check out the videos mentioned above
Underrated channel
Thx one of the best and thorough reviews I have seen online. You deserve a much bigger audience. Almost no reviewers go in depth with sports motion handling. How is the sports motion handling of the S95D compared to S95C, is it similar or is the new processing in the S95D (much) better? The S95C is much cheaper and the mat screen not a must for me. Unfortunately the 77 inch S90D is not available with QD-Oled in Europe (only 65 inch).
We haven’t noticed any significant differences in motion handling between s95c and s95d ;)
The Hisense can be made to look WAY more vibrant than what was shown here in all fairness.
After seeing 5:23 I realised that 100" is too small and i need to look at projectors. Thanks.
Thx, very informative, please keep on doing such useful reviews.
beautiful projector setup. I wonder if TVs that size have really high power consumption compared to the projectors or not.

Will someone please advise this person to slow down the rapid speech. It's irritating.
Please don't! Most people who want to sound "professional" on YT speeks so slow, that I have to watch it in 125-150% to not fall asleep. She is one of the view people who can can match my thinking-speed ;). I still watch her in 125% to get the infos faster but I must admit, it wouldn't be necessary :).

It seems that the hundred inch hisense has differnet models depending on your region. Here in the US we have 2 modles. The 100 u76 and the more premium 100u8k. Do you know what your tv is the equivalent? Also can you go over the darkness of the blacks on the hisense? Are they inky black, close to oled level? Thank you! Very informative video.
That’s hard to say because it might also have different panel type. The black level on 100 inch variant is very good. Definitely not OLED-like but close to performance of other high end displays.
