- I am a secondhand stylist based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Normally clients seek me out, have an in person fit & style discovery session and pay a curation fee to work with me before I begin the process of sourcing and styling them. I was in the mood to try something new soooo I styled a rack full of clothes for a client I did not have but was looking for! Enjoy the process here. This is so much fun!!! I am a “ thrifter” too, was always a special thing my mama and I would do together🥰I’m 67 and a younger friend ( 40) asked me if I would leave her my clothes when I die!!? I also have the privilege to take this risk ! But I tell folks that you can start where you are and how you are. I bet you have a friend that would let you re-do one of their rooms! start with a friend & get a budget from them and make magic! document it all.

I find that it's easier to find more modest clothes second hand or at consignment shops a lot of times then in a lot of retail stores. Also at a greater affordable price.

Really enjoyed watching you manifest the match of rack to client. Curious what her pile of clothes cost at the end? Is this still financially feasible for you without the set up cost? If so I think its a great way to get people excited to work with to make such entertaining content.👍
This business is under 2 years old, so I consider everything I'm doing at this point an investment, or some may call a loss. My fee does not match up to my labor already ha. So while this is def *less* money than I make for my racks, I think for the content here it's worth it. Additionally for my local fans that maybe want to shop but can't afford my fee this might be a fun option to be able to offer from time to time. I plan on doing it again! As far as it being a profitable model...nope!

I am right now wearing my Made Well black wide legged crops which I bought brand new at Marshall’s for $9.99. They were hidden in the mens department. Thought the button fly would be an issue for my 60 year old self…but no problem.

I charge a styling fee of $100 right now, but I raise my fee each time I open my waitlist. Clients only pay for the clothes they want to keep.
