I clicked on your video because I wanted to start figuring out how to have a historically based wardrobe for work.
Just from the beginning shot, I absolutely love this neckline and it's exactly how I want every shirt to look like for the rest of my life

Hello! I agree on the excellence of Linda P's wonderful book. I come back to it often.

Subscribed simply from seeing your neckline. Interesting topic, and I’m unfamiliar with more ordinary 1930 sclothes, so I am looking forward to seeing more.

Hi, I just discovered your channel today and really enjoying the content. I am very drawn to the mid - late 1930s style, Where the skirt length was longer, I'm nearly 6ft tall so struggle to find true vintage clothing, but I'm a home sewer so manage to make a lot of my clothing. I am also fine tuning my wardrobe. Look forward to seeing more from your channel.

One of my favorite films for 1930s style is 5th Ave Girl, but it’s not Ginger Rogers’ clothes that I love most but her “rival” played by Veree Teasdale. Her clothes are divine! More mature but also just more sleek and elegant (her character is a society lady vs Ginger’s working girl so Ginger’s clothes are also just more simple). If you haven’t seen it, I’d recommend it. It’s on the later end of 30s (1939) but really hits all the right notes! Martha’s black (seemingly velvet) dress with asymmetric collar and pointy dolman-ish sleeves is my fave.

I love 'The Lost Art of Dress', its easily one of my favorite books about style and fashion.
I'm so glad to have found your videos. I also love the 30's style, and am working on fine tuning my current style to something much more 30's inspired than it is now. I look forward to more videos!

Hi Cameron! Kindred spirits! I’m so glad you find the videos useful! I don’t think 30s style is given enough credit, especially on RUclips. What drew you to the era?

@@thedecominimalist I love art deco styling, but the flapper look never worked for me. I love that the 30's keeps that elegance of line, while giving a more feminine silhouette. I love clothes that are feminine, but not girly. That era has all that I want. Elegant without being austere, glamorous without being vulgar or showy. It's the style of the woman I want to be!

Hi, love 1930s fashion? Maybe in a future video you could show the pieces you are collecting or where you purchase your repro from? I think only House of Foxy and Emmy Designs do 30's but maybe there's more out there :)

Hi Ciara! That's a great idea! I do have a video about vintage repro shoes coming out in June but I could also do an overview of clothing brands. Thanks for the suggestion :P

Just took some online color quizzes and, just like with the color me beautiful book, came up with both winter (on 1 test) and autumn (on another test)

So was the old school thought of tea time outfits, the equivalent of modern dressing up to get coffee or drink? Just a day time event that you want to look nice for, but still casual?

This is a great video! Thank you so much for creating it. I’ve been collecting for a while and still found many of your tips helpful.
Also, it appears that the PDF link is no longer working. Could you try linking it again?

I enjoyed this very much. You have helped me to define my 1930s style. I was wondering if you could fix the link to the checklist, as right now there is no link. Again, great job!

Can't believe I'm just finding your channel. Love the video, can't wait to see more. Also, wondering what the style dress you're wearing and where you bought/found it or if you made it.

Hello. I just discovered your channel.
I am also a big fan of 30's fashion.
I can't wait to see more of your videos. I will have to do some binging! Lol.
Regarding colour theories: I am a painter and I worked in the fashion industry in both wholesale and retail over a period of 30 years. My first impression when I saw you was " why is she wearing the wrong colour?" I strongly suggest that you re- analyze yourself in front of the mirror and by a large window for natual light and with no makeup. I think you are a winter. Sorry.
