I hate all those wedge like stripes. It makes it look toyish. Hopefully it will come in a builder’s kit with a clear body.
Cause you can get either Mojave for less and have a way better rc. I love my trx4’s and my slash but yeah better brands for better bashers imo. Does look sweet I will save that but not worth the price tag
Dunno if anyone has pointed this out or not already, but the lower suspension arms are NOT Maxx arms. They have their own part number and are a slightly different design. The upper arms however are V1 Maxx arms.
The erevo is 1/8th scale. The sledge is a 1/8th scale, and the erevo was the same wheelbase and same size wheels. It was a silly thing from the original erevo era when the 1/8th class wasn’t fully developed yet.
The reason it's controversial is because it's handling, jumping is horrendous, servo and tires suck and it's priced like a premium vehicle which it definitely is not. If you want one, recommend waiting a few months when the people who care about performance are selling theirs.
We got some in where i work already, its an alright truck but not worth $700. It just drives like a big slash. Loves to roll over way too much. Youre much better off getting a normal maxx. All the cons of the slash come with this thing.
It's controversial because they made yet another vaguely scaled short course truck that doesn't belong on a racetrack instead of giving us a basher proof summit version 2 that they sued arrma over for making a better version called the nero.
The ride height is wrong on those shocks. The arms have to be level or lower than center, never above center. All this talk about double the power doesn't mean anything when the driving conditions are 30mph at most. Allow me to remind you that the Velineon 3500KV is so powerful it will break its shaft right off if you get crazy.
You can get a 6s kraton exb for $700, metal diff cases, metal chassis braces, shock towers, etc. How can they charge 700 for plastic. It handles bad and rolls like crazy. I don't understand, and plastic is good in some cases but you can't tell me plastic is the same price as aluminum. Not to mention Traxxas electronics are garbage
Tell us what YOU think of the MAXX SLASH!

For me its just a maxx with a slash body and bumpers on it... its not a sct i guess you could say that about a lot of rc model variants adapted from the same core chassis but its not a slash even the name suggests its a Maxx..slash i think its viewed incorrectly by most but there's nothing wrong with a maxx with a slash body on it lol
good take!
I like this truck. I would consider buying it if it didn’t come with such ugly graphics. Not sure why Traxxas doesn’t make it look like a real truck with sponsor decals on it and such. I hate all those wedge like stripes. It makes it look toyish. Hopefully it will come in a builder’s kit with a clear body.
theres are green and blue and red bodies
Not impressed just a nother slash rather buy a 1/5
good to know
Great video I think it was better then MSM
thank you 🤣
I cant believe i walked into a hobby store told the guy to give me the most badass truck out and he sold me this pos
Got me too.
Cause you can get either Mojave for less and have a way better rc. I love my trx4’s and my slash but yeah better brands for better bashers imo. Does look sweet I will save that but not worth the price tag
you're on board with everyone else
Dunno if anyone has pointed this out or not already, but the lower suspension arms are NOT Maxx arms. They have their own part number and are a slightly different design. The upper arms however are V1 Maxx arms.
it's debatable because how much of a difference does it actually make
Awesome coverage of the Maxx Slash. The low CG and 6s power plant really adds to the performance and stability. 🏁🏁
Thanks! 👍
I like mine . Better handling looks and price isnt too bad . It's alot like my maxx. My arrma 4s mojave can't hold anything on this vehicle
good to know
Thx 😊
I know everyone is saying mojave 6s is better but i just like the maxx slash more lol
The erevo is 1/8th scale. The sledge is a 1/8th scale, and the erevo was the same wheelbase and same size wheels. It was a silly thing from the original erevo era when the 1/8th class wasn’t fully developed yet.
thanks for the info!
The reason it's controversial is because it's handling, jumping is horrendous, servo and tires suck and it's priced like a premium vehicle which it definitely is not.
If you want one, recommend waiting a few months when the people who care about performance are selling theirs.
Traxxas builds disposable rc cars , just a bunch if bathers to be sold broken on marketplace a year later
We got some in where i work already, its an alright truck but not worth $700. It just drives like a big slash. Loves to roll over way too much. Youre much better off getting a normal maxx. All the cons of the slash come with this thing.
good to know!
It comes stock with a wheelie bar?!?!? 🤢… but looks great in general
yes it does 🙄
I will never understand why folks say clipless body then push 4 clip release buttons to detach the body 🤷
just what traxxas calls it lol, pinless or postless would be a better term i suppose
My m2c'd notorious will eat that thing for breakfast.
It's controversial because they made yet another vaguely scaled short course truck that doesn't belong on a racetrack instead of giving us a basher proof summit version 2 that they sued arrma over for making a better version called the nero.
thats a good take on it
That is a 1/8th scale truck as well as the erevo the slash in 1/10 and is still on the the bigger side of 1/10
erevo was called 1/10th
Controversial since its massively overpriced for what it offers, given the competition offers more for less the price
I hear the handling is worse
going to have to get one and tell us
I have one they are bad ass
Price needs to come down. $649 at least. Then they can bring the UDR back down to 699.
totally agree
The ride height is wrong on those shocks.
The arms have to be level or lower than center, never above center.
All this talk about double the power doesn't mean anything when the driving conditions are 30mph at most.
Allow me to remind you that the Velineon 3500KV is so powerful it will break its shaft right off if you get crazy.
this isn't the 3500 kv
@@3X7Outdoor I wasn't implying that it was.
Scale is just math. 1/8 would equal a 16.5 inch wheelbase if using the original 1/10 Slash as a base.
good to know
This truck is way overpriced, 700 bucks and you still get a plastic servo and a junk esc there’s way better options out there for 700 bucks
