He’s about to die and remembers what he said when he, Hercules, Laf, John and Burr were friends. @@aliciastack927 and @Krushil Bhavsar: Interesting question! Miranda says the idea was to capture the live musical "feel," and that he could not imagine it as a movie. In live opera productions (and perhaps Broadway, too), the sound is usually live, but in movies, much of it -- and particularly singing -- is usually dubbed. I can see a mike on the side of Burr's face at 0:33, which would not be there if they were dubbing the vocals. If you have sources or if you spot any more clues in the video, please post your thoughts for us.

I watched it for the first time last weekend since the show is in my city for the month! Was INCREDIBLE. Can’t believe it took me this long to see it. Still talking about it almost a week later! ❤
I prefer this to the studio version, one reason is at 0:44 in the studio version it sounds like hes just denying being stupid without being fully confident in it, but in this version when he says "im not stupid" it sounds like he's defending himself and wont tolerate being looked down on
My teacher described Hamilton as “ a group of people who explains history in rap”. If she didn’t show us this song I would have missed out on this amazing piece of art.
Fact: Even though Lafayette said that he was opposed to a monarchy in France in the musical, in reality, Lafayette was opposed to France abolishing the French monarchy, and he was one of the moderates in the French Revolution who wanted to keep the King as a Constitutional Monarch, he believed that the revolutionary government should adopt the type of government to that of Great Britain, which was a constitutional monarchy that the king were to rule in collaboration with parliament and by a Constitution.
As a history teacher, Hamilton got my worst class into the American Revolution. They quit falling asleep and paid attention because I put some of the songs in my lectures to help
Can you tell me what those lyrics meant: a colony that runs independently. Meanwhile, Britain keeps shittin’ on us endlessly. Essentially, they tax us relentlessly. Then King George turns around, runs a spending spree. He ain’t ever gonna set his descendants free. So there will be a revolution in this century. Its my fav part but I dont get it

And but we'll never be truly free
Until those in bondage have the same rights as you and me
You and I
Do or die
Wait 'til I sally in on a stallion
With the first black battalion
Have another shot
Geniuses, lower your voices
You keep out of trouble and you double your choices
I'm with you, but the situation is fraught
You've got to be carefully taught
If you talk, you're gonna get shot
Burr, check what we got
Mister Lafayette, hard rock like Lancelot
I think your pants look hot
Laurens, I like you a lot
Let's hatch a plot blacker than the kettle callin' the pot
What are the odds the gods would put us all in one spot
Poppin' a squat on conventional wisdom, like it or not
A bunch of revolutionary manumission abolitionists?
Give me a position, show me where the ammunition is
Oh, am I talkin' too loud?
Sometimes I get over excited, shoot off at the mouth
I never had a group of friends before
I promise that I'll make y'all proud
Let's get this guy in front of a crowd
I am not throwin' away my shot
I am not throwin' away my shot
Hey yo, I'm just like my country
I'm young, scrappy and hungry
And I'm not throwin' away my shot
I am not throwin' away my shot
I am not throwin' away my shot
Hey yo, I'm just like my country
I'm young, scrappy and hungry
And I'm not throwin' away my shot
Everybody sing
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Ayy, whoa (woo), whoa
Should let 'em hear ya (yeah)
Let's go
Whoa, whoa, whoa
I said shout it to the rooftops
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Said, to the rooftops
Whoa, whoa, whoa
A-come on (yeah)
Come on, let's go
Rise up
When you're living on your knees, you rise up
Tell your brother that he's gotta rise up
Tell your sister that she's gotta rise up
When are these colonies gonna rise up? (Whoa, whoa)
When are these colonies gonna rise up? (Whoa)
When are these colonies gonna rise up? (Whoa)
When are these colonies gonna rise up?
Rise up
I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory
When's it gonna get me?
In my sleep, seven feet ahead of me?
If I see it comin', do I run or do I let it be?
Is it like a beat without a melody?
See, I never thought I'd live past twenty
Where I come from some get half as many
Ask anybody why we livin' fast and we laugh, reach for a flask
We have to make this moment last, that's plenty
Scratch that this is not a moment, it's the movement
Where all the hungriest brothers with something to prove went?
Foes oppose us, we take an honest stand
We roll like Moses, claimin' our promised land
And? If we win our independence?
Is that a guarantee of freedom for our descendants?
Or will the blood we shed begin an endless cycle of vengeance and death with no defendants?
I know the action in the street is excitin'
But Jesus, between all the bleedin' 'n' fightin'
I've been readin' 'n' writin'
We need to handle our financial situation
Are we a nation of states what's the state of our nation?
I'm past patiently waitin' I'm passionately mashin' every expectation
Every action's an act of creation
I'm laughin' in the face of casualties and sorrow
For the first time, I'm thinkin' past tomorrow
And I am not throwin' away my shot
I am not throwin' away my shot
Hey yo, I'm just like my country
I'm young, scrappy and hungry
And I'm not throwin' away my shot
We're gonna rise up (time to take a shot)
I am not throwin' away my shot
We're gonna rise up (time to take a shot)
I am not throwin' away my shot
We're gonna, rise up, rise up
It's time to take a shot
Rise up, rise up
It's time to take a shot
Rise up, it's time to take a shot
Rise up, take a shot, shot, shot
It's time to take a shot, time to take a shot
And I am not throwin' away my
Not throwin' away my shot
Lyrics: (Aaron burr, sir)- Pardon me.
Are you Aaron Burr, sir?
That depends. Who's asking?
Oh, well, sure, sir
I'm Alexander Hamilton, I'm at your service, sir
I have been looking for you
I'm getting nervous
Sir...
I heard your name at Princeton.
I was seeking an accelerated course of study
When I got sort of out of sorts with a buddy of yours.
I may have punched him. It's a blur, sir.
He handles the financials?
You punched the bursar
Yes!
I wanted to do what you did.
Graduate in two, then join the revolution.
He looked at me like I was stupid, I'm not stupid
So how'd you do it? How'd you graduate so fast?
It was my parents' dying wish before they passed
You're an orphan. Of course! I'm an orphan
God, I wish there was a war
Then we could prove that we're worth more than anyone bargained for
Can I buy you a drink?
That would be nice
While we're talking
Let me offer you some free advice
Talk less
What?
Smile more
Ha
Don't let them know what you're against or what you're for
You can't be serious
You wanna get ahead?
Yes
Fools who run their mouths off wind up dead
Ay, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo!
What time is it?
Showtime!
Like I said...
Showtime! Showtime! Yo!
I'm John Laurens in the place to be!
Two pints o' Sam Adams, but I'm workin' on three!
Those redcoats don't want it with me
'Cause I will pop chick-a pop these cops till I'm free!
Oui oui, mon ami, je m'appelle Lafayette!
The Lancelot of the revolutionary set!
I came from afar just to say "Bonsoir!"
Tell the King "Casse toi!" Who's the best? C'est moi!
Brrrah, brraaah! I am Hercules Mulligan
Up in it, lovin' it, yes I heard ya mother said "Come again?" (Ayy)
Lock up ya daughters and horses, of course
It's hard to have intercourse over four sets of corsets (Wow)
No more sex, pour me another brew, son!
Let's raise a couple more...
To the revolution!
Well, if it ain't the prodigy of Princeton college!
Aaron Burr!
Give us a verse, drop some knowledge!
Good luck with that: you're takin' a stand
You spit. I'm 'a sit. We'll see where we land (Boooo)
Burr, the revolution's imminent.
What do you stall for?
If you stand for nothing, Burr, what'll you fall for?
Ooh
Who you? Who you? Who are you?
Ooh, who is this kid?
What's he gonna do?
Tysm
So angry I spent a lot of money for the live show...I understood nothing. Why is it so easy to understand here? It was white noise at the live show. Left half way through.

Talk less never ceases to make me smile : both now and when Hamilton says it back to him later
The stage-freeze at the start is so perfect that I thought the entire video would just be audio. Thanks for uploading!
Rappers today after 3 minutes of mumbling and non stop heavy beat: "Yo, that shit was hard though bro!"
Meanwhile in Hamilton...
They were not actually singing during the act , they had already sand and recorded the song. In the the act they were just dubbing.
This is a Broadway show, EVERYTHING is live, from the lighting cues to the band and DEFINITELY the vocals
Hamilton is made for people like you who don’t like hip hop lol
@@PerryCoxPF93 hip hop and rapping is not the same thing. But thanks for your input which is totally beside the point and, ultimately, incorrect.
The Choreography of My Shot is why in my opinion the greatest Broadway piece and overall, the greatest Broadway show off all time.
1:30 did Aaron burr just predict John Laurens death?
Yup soon as he says "those who run their mouths off wind up dead" The VERY NEXT person to speak is John Laurens lol
Also in The Battle of Yorktown John Laurens shakes hands with the women playing death
I knew I'd get spoiled if I read comments

Watching for 2hrs and 30 mins on Disney plus and NYC was amazing!
After watching the entire play I now realize all the foreshadowing Burr does throughout the entire act lol
Im so in love with the choreography at 6:19. it feels so powerful, im mostly watching the woman with the black long hair :D but they are all so amazing
I saw this last night on Broadway. Amazing show.
I can honestly say this is the best piece of art I have ever seen.
This show is amazing and the cast is marvellous und talented! Thanks for your vibes

I like this this musical way more than I am willing to admit
this is the first musical i'm ever watching since i have to present one in music class, and if i'm honest i'm falling in love with it
1:22 "fools who run their mouths wind up dead" cue John Laurens speaking
7:46 idk why but i love looking out for these little mistakes, watch carefully as Lin looses his balance for a sec here lmao
the way john says "who are you" is like he already knows who he is, like he had watched him when he introduced himself to burr and so hes just like oh i wonder who you are idk you never met you in my life
What an amazing, beautiful production!!!!!!! I saw it in Atlanta, twice. I'd see it again in a minute.
I’m so happy I was able to see this live 😍
Saw Hamilton in Wichita Kansas. Wow. Loved every minute of it.
I honestly live when he says don't be surprised when you see me in your history books, though they never did he now how has a whole play about him, books about him, games based off what he did! And it's honestly amazing.
I AM SO ADDICTED TO THIS SONG AAAA
Are we really not going to talk about how Laurens is looking at Hamilton here 3:08
why?
He really be looking at Hamilton like he is a rotten piece of meat
what's what I was thinking
he looks lowkey sad
he looks like he shit himself and he's trying to be discreet about it
I made the exact same face around my first crush.

I didn’t learn shit about Hamilton in school. This musical solely taught me about the revolution (after I did my own research of course)
I prefer this to the studio version, one reason is at 0:44 in the studio version it sounds like hes just denying being stupid without being fully confident in it, but in this version when he says "im not stupid" it sounds like he's defending himself and wont tolerate being looked down on
Blessed to say I was able to see Hamilton on Broadway on a school trip. Thank you & rest in paradise Ms.Gray ❤️
Burr: "Fools who run their mouths off wind up dead" *Laurnes enters* Burr: "Like I said"
My teacher described Hamilton as “ a group of people who explains history in rap”. If she didn’t show us this song I would have missed out on this amazing piece of art.
Cringe
Fact:
Even though Lafayette said that he was opposed to a monarchy in France in the musical, in reality, Lafayette was opposed to France abolishing the French monarchy, and he was one of the moderates in the French Revolution who wanted to keep the King as a Constitutional Monarch, he believed that the revolutionary government should adopt the type of government to that of Great Britain, which was a constitutional monarchy that the king were to rule in collaboration with parliament and by a Constitution.
“My Shot” is literally what is getting me through college right now. ️
Burr :"Fools who run their mouth off wind up dead" Laurens: "AYYOYOYOYYO WHAT TIME IS IT" the predictions of death bro
I know right?? :0

Its my fav part but I dont get it
Man the chills I get with this song
Burr: Fools who run their mouths off wind up dead.
Laurens, right after that line from Burr: Ah-yuh-yo, yo-yo-yo, yo!
What time is it?!
Me: *_Oh no_*
I have seen Hamilton about a hundred times on Disney plus and I will keep on looking at it until I can't look at it anymore I love Hamilton ❤

Me too!
"Hamilton, your bed is falling apart-one of the legs is broken off! Get rid of it!"

"Hamilton, this parking area is barely even used-the asphalt is all broken up and cracked! Just hand it over to someone else!"
_"I am not throwing away my lot!"_
