    This is the old ID.3 with less efficient engine and slightly bit worse aero. Can’t wait to see the comparison against the brand new 600km WLTP ID.3 GTX. It has significant efficiency improvements.
    Volvo EX30 drag coefficient is 0.28, while the new ID.3 is 0.263. That explains 6% higher drag on highway speeds. The new VW engine gave the new ID.3 around 10% more range.
    We have to wait for EX30 facelift. Iterative improvements for engine and aero. I have time. Nothing in the market yet that interests me enough to buy a new EV. ID.3 GTX is lacking 4WD, otherwise it seems the best car in this segment.

      The drive train and engine efficiency is more important than Cd at this speed (110kmh) . My Polestar 2 has Cd 0.278, but is more efficient than both these cars (Battery Life's own test: 159 Wh/km).

    Thanks for this test. The Geely cars are not known for their efficient motors so this result seems about right. However, whilst the ID3 had 20" wheels, they were much narrower tyre section at 215, compared to the 245 tyres on the EX30. It is the width, not the diameter that has the greatest influence on drag.

    • @CyAn-S
      @CyAn-S Месяц назад +1

      Why does the ex30 have the same width tyres as an i4.... and even more than a model 3... Volvo's own fault for that. It does not need that width.

      @peeble99 Месяц назад +1

      Volvo are prioritising sportiness over efficiency. I'd make a different decision. There is a 225/55 X 18 option as an Accessory that would be a much better compromise.

    • @CyAn-S
      @CyAn-S Месяц назад

      @@peeble99volvo prioritising sportiness... sure. They are a brand that is known for relaxed HQ cars. This EX30 is a small hatchback crossover thing ... sportiness... sure. If that is true they made a mistake.

    Die Seite-an-Seite Verbrauchsvergleiche finde ich sehr gut, die Zusammenfassung der Testwerte könnte man aber noch besser gestalten, mit einer tabellarischen Gegenüberstellung.
