  • Artificial Lupine Death Simulator 94. Wolf is a survival game where you must use your keen senses to navigate a treacherous world. You take charge of a wolf in the wild, and through a series of mouse and keyboard commands, you achieve goals and survive the game's brutal survival mechanics. A rusty Lawnie returns from hiatus and is terrible at this game, but appreciates the excellent design coupled with solid presentation. A must-play, even if you die repeatedly!

You might be able to find a game like this today but you would have to look at the indie side of gaming.
Welcome back. You and your Random DOS game show have been missed.

Welcome back! I absolutely love wolves, so I ended up picking up a physical copy of the game a few years back via eBay, though it's a bit tatty. There are both floppy and CD versions too, but obviously the latter is the best one! Also, the closest modern game to this that I can think of - though still not quite like this - is Wolf Quest.

I'm still learning how to play this myself (though I've not played it in a while!), so don't feel bad that you can't get too far, as it like take a while to properly learn to play!

Noooo! Glidepath! Snowbound! What a cruel game, playing dying infirm wolves last moments again and again!
    Nice video though!

The triumphant return of Lawnie! Good to have you back!
Don't sweat your performance, my first experience with Wolf was much the same! It's definitely a game that takes some getting used to. The gameplay mechanics were well ahead of their time considering the surge of popularity in survival-based games during the 2010s. I would normally say that a game like this would probably do well if it were a modern release, but I already know it would since there's a spiritual successor of sorts called WolfQuest that's very well received (at least based on user reviews, I haven't played it).

Welcome back man! You've been missed. And what an awesome game! I've never heard of it before, but it wouldn't look out of place between modern Indie games. Seems like an absolute gem of the DOS gaming era.

It's an interesting concept for a game. Survival games are a dime a dozen but trying to survive as something other than a human with different ability's and tools is a pretty cool idea. I wonder if there's a more modern game that's tried to do something like this.
