After watching this, I sent to the edge of glory.
I must admit I wasn’t a fan until A Star is Born and now I’m binge watching everything she has ever done and am loving her vocals and her stage presence.

Lol there's are many artists who are as good or better than her. I wouldn't call a great voice and piano player once or twice in a lifetime. Taylor Swift, Adele, Halsey, Alicia Keys. You should check out their vocals when they sing acoustic songs like this with one instrument. Gaga is amazing, but I wouldn't call it once or twice in a lifetime because she can play piano like millions of other people and sing really well. Even Kesha proved her vocal abilities on her new album.
Demi and Ariana also have really good vocals. I would say even better than Gaga. Sara Bareilles also has a really nice voice.
Vocals? There's a lot of other great vocal artist there. Art-wise? Yes, she is a remarkable one. It's not just songs and vocals, she makes a good balance of art, her own experiences and music that is really rare to find in today's mainstream.

She's waay better than her and most of the singers you mentioned.
She's very versatile, she can sing pop, jazz, rock and even metal.
Just look at her performance of sound of music or the one with Metallica or the one with tony bennett. All different styles and she managed to do amazing at all three. I'm not saying the singers you mentioned are bad, because they're all amazing but i wouldn't compare them to lady gaga

lady gaga is not a "good" singer. to say that is an insult to her talent. she is an absolutely amazing singer, awe inspiring and damn near perfect. imo, arguably the best current vocalist in the world. and add that to her overall musical prowess and she is one of the best entertainers of all time.

I used to think she was just this weird dance chick who wore cray outfits until I saw this a few years ago. One of my favorite performances ever by any artist. Amazing ! I am forever a fan of hers now.

I thought the same thing at first! But this performance got me interested... come to find out, she got her start in the music industry by writing songs for other artists. This woman knows music- and she can fucking sing! I love her, she's amazing!

@will gi I've heard that same thing from so many people and felt the same way. I thought of her as a performer for tweens, no better than your average boy band. But then I heard this and started looking into her music and have been a fan ever since.
always look beyond the appearance. listen to the voice then listen to the lyrics and then to the music. If necessary close your eyes. Even if the actual song is not your thing you will still appreciate a true musician.
I could listen to her singing "I'm on the edge" repeatedly for an hour.

Watching this as a rock vocalist I just have to say…Her Mic play is outstanding. She knows just how to throw her notes away or to it so perfectly. It makes the performance so much more dynamic, accurate and just honestly perfect. A true mic ninja.

You know lady Gaga is actually a talented vocalist because her live performances sound exactly like her recorded tracks.
They sound better than the studio. Especially the Howard Stern versions, she really goes all out on the Stern show.

T Pain is the king of auto tune but look up his NPR performance and it’s crazy how good of a singer he is as well.
This lady is so so special, she puts every part of her being into her artistry, vocalist, musician, actor, songwriter, she is perfection.
Her technique is amazing. I admire her for that. The way she trained her voice to expand her range, and thats not easy to do. You can see how she works her resonators in this video.

Why are people only just realising how epic she is?! She's been a powerhouse for a decade now but people always wanna judge her instead of REALLY listen to her amazing art.
For me, I had heard her in passing on pop radio which I don't listen to. I knew she could sing but her music wasn't my style. It wasn't until I heard this performance live on the Stern show years back that I realized how talented she was. Her music still isn't my daily listening style but damn do I have a huge respect for her talent.

I always understood the meaning of this song because she would share it. Now, today is a month since my grandfather passed away and i understand this song even more, my grandpa died next to my grandmother holding hands and asleep in an edge of glory with the person he loved and loves for all eternity. So this song has a whole new meaning to me now.

Absolutely amazing. Without a single flaw. I vividly remember when she came on the show. Weeks (or days) prior to it Howard was trashing Gaga saying she's a madonna copy cat and that she wasn't even -that- talented. This shut him, and everyone else up. This is where I learned that your craft truly speaks for itself.

I'd love to hear this song performed as if it was an 80 rock tune, big guitar riffs, big banging drums, big hair and lots of power! So many of her songs could just fit into other genres and still sound right.
If you search out the "Enigma Arrangement" playlist someone's done that attempts to recreate the Vegas arrangements of her songs, they very much have a 80s rock/synth vibe to them, though not 80s big hair style.

Isn't it mesmerising how one human being can produce such a stunning performance. I find it almost impossible to grasp how someone can find such words and then produce a solo performance such as this. The Edge of Glory has captured me ever since her first performance in Carlisle, UK in 2011.
