It's cause he /All of them, Absolutely NAILED IT. If I ever do covers, I go for the album versions. (was in a radiohead tribute band, stand-up drums and lead vocals ..and we all listened) .. SO RAD this guy understands WHY a song is awesome in the first place. Don't get me wrong.. Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah" is one of the 8 wonders of the world.. but those are Somewhat rare. I turned 13 in 1990, so my youth was the 80's. I was lucky to have Mtv for most of the 80's and I love this tune. The video is great. Another good one was "Big Time". Hell, I'm gonna watch it right now!

I do not. Who would care for a copy which is doomed to fail compared to the original. WHo would go hear a xerox ? I want to hear artists put their musical vision in their cover, take risks, propose another reading. When Judas Priest covers Diamond and Rust, it is their own version. When Toris Amos covers Smells Like Teen Spirit, it doesn't in anyway ressembles the original.
In my opinion, this is a 95% copy, and I would’ve prefered either a 99 % (100 % is of course impossible), or a cover. This recreation seems to be in the middle. Well executed, but in the middle. Also, some of the groove is missing.
If you're gonna cover a song, do it exactly as the original, it's a major compliment to the artist. This was AWESOME!

Got to admit i wasn't expecting this, thought it'd be a dire ballad version, blown away by it, the whole band and Harry are amazing.
I've loved Peter Gabriel for so many years and almost didn't press play. What a cover! Tight musicians, and Harry that voice, really loved this.
Styles swagged that shit. You can tell he loves the song, and did it more than justice. Even Gabriel gave him a retweet.
Well, Gabriel obviously had to sign off on agreeing for him to do the cover version. For me, it is way too close to the original. If you are going to completely copy a song note for note, I don't really understand the point in doing it. But if it makes him and his fans happy and he has Gabriel's blessing I guess it doesn't matter what I think.
Did not expect this kid to do this song justice, but he totally did right by mr. Gabriel.
I think it was mkre ablut the band performing and everything mixing so well. He sounded good but the entire instruments work so well together even though you would not think it.

I'm a 58 year old rock 'n roll type of guy. My daughter loved 1D but I couldn't relate. I'm now telling her to listen to this guy's rendition of one of my favorites. It's spot on. I've also been listening to some of his other stuff on Fine Line - which is pretty damn good. I have to choke on my pearly beads and say I really like this guy!

Wow, I saw Peter Gabriel in 87’ in upstate New York for the debut of his So album. Harry Styles performed such a fantastic remake. Bravo.

I began to really feel his songs and not long became a fan lol. He has a cool mix of rock and pop to his style. Oh, and made me actually laugh on snl recently too.
