Quick story. Lady Gaga came to my city (Cambridge, MA) 8 years ago for a photo shoot for Polaroid. I was lucky enough to be her police security detail for the day. We spent some time talking and she was the coolest, most down-to-earth celebrity you could ever meet. For whatever reason she took a liking to me. I think being Italian helped. She seemed fascinated with my last name and what part of Italy my grandparents were from. But anyway, it's a day that I will never forget. My only regret is that I didn't ask her to dinner. And no, I'm not foolish enough to think I'd ever have a chance with her romantically. I'm just talking about grabbing a quick bite and having good conversation. Deep down, if she was in town for the night, I really think she would've accepted the invitation. So the moral of the story is, don't ever fear rejection or you'll always live with regret.
You shouldn’t regret it at all, you had the chance to speak Lady Gaga privately, where you both bonded and shared similarities while she showed a great interest in you, who you are and your background. You’ve achieved what millions of people around the world could only dream of.
A lot of my friends have been gagging over her Oscars performance, being like "OMG I didn't know she could sing." I've just been like "girl, please, catch up" and sent them this link.
***** I'm actually surprised by people's reactions ("Lady Gaga can sing?!?!?") I'm not her biggest fan but even I had realized her how well she sang from live performances, I'm surprised people didn't see it before... Well at least she set the record straight and set herself some justice
I'm a 40 year old man. I thought Lady Gaga was a tart when she was wearing all that goofy shit, like a meat dress, but when I heard her perform on Howard stern, I became a fan. This woman is one of the most talented human beings alive, and she's an absolute genius. Kudos to her and I'm so grateful I heard her that day. Her voice brings tears to my eyes. Incredible. 👏👏
I agree. The first time I saw her; I think it was on SNL. The outfit !! I couldn't tell what or who she was; I was like, who the F is this broad ???? Then she opened her mouth - Nuff said. Pure Talent (oh and I'm a Green Day/MCR fangirl; not my style of music whatsoever)

Its crazy to think i was only 14 when i firat heard this and loved it then but now that ive gone through life more her voice literally means so much more
I love that in her acoustic performances and especially this one she does these intricate piano intros and if they stood on their own they could easily be mistaken for a classical piece. To me personally the intro sounds very Chopin-esque maybe even a little bit of Bach too and as a piano player myself I fangirl a lot when she plays like this,
When she first debuted I did my searches and noticed immediately that she recorded her records in pop format but almost always switched between performing the recorded version or did a live rendition. This performance is amazing and her voice even then is clear and powerful. She's been giving it all to us since day one.
The woman is ******** talented. She invents her own shit, is good with pianos, synthesizers, and guitars, knows how to sing, started showing talents at a young age, and is smart. Also, she is an advocate for LGBT community and anti-bullying. She is eccentric, and though I don't like her meatball dress, and sometimes I think she's from another planet especially due to her latest record, I like her overall. She has an IQ higher than most people (recorded 166) but doesn't come off as a robot similar to most intellectual people, possibly because she's also SENSITIVE. Point in short: she isn't one-dimensional like most intellectual people or stupid like some sensitive people. She's an all-rounder in creativity, intellect, and a kind heart. And I like most of her eccentric outfits (although not the meatball one, lol!) and her electronic and more "traditional" music.
Lady Gaga is a brilliant performer. She is the real deal. Her level of musicianship, her care for her fans, and her raw vocal talent is unparalleled. I keep watching this video because it is so good.
The funny thing is that, even though her vocals in 2009 were a lot weaker than in her recent performances, she was still better than 90% of pop singers
She always knew exactly what she was doing. That intro was pure Liszt and Chopin, melting into pop. She’s a genius. She’s just an absolute musical genius.
I saw Lady Gaga's Enigma show in Las Vegas last week. The BEST CONCERT EVER!! She has an incredible voice, plays her own instruments, and can DANCE like a fiend. Terrific stage presence and vocals that brought the house down. Visually stunning stage and set and multiple costume changes made the concert even better than I thought possible. I love Paparazzi and she sang this and many of her popular songs as well as her newer material. LOVE IT!!
She is not comparable to other 'artists'. She is the true LIVE performer, and no one beats her. It always was so. This means she's genious Musician, having no need to suit 'modern standards'. She knows it. Classical Lady she is. Since 2009, this and VMA bloody performance are my etalons of musicality and theater in its best! (Born This Way any one? ;D) She puts all soul in music. Cheek to Cheek, Joanne... She was adorable yet singing Captivated... Bad, manys now lack musical taste, Gaga and someone like Adele save us keeping music. And don't forget CLASSICS! ^)
She is one of the most talented and amazing human beings i ever seen or heard of! This version is a million times better than the actual recorded studio version! Almost every song she does "acoustic" or lets say just her and a piano/keyboard is better than every studio version she recorded! She is sooo incredibly good at really nailing and capturing the authenticity of the moment, and of the song being played!
I remember the first time I heard her truly sing and I have LOVED Gaga ever since. Even if her music isn’t your favorite, no one can deny her talent. She is one of the best
I'm a die-hard Gaga fan. I've been a fan since before she was very popular, when she was just playing small clubs. Any time anyone has told me they don't think she's talented, I show them this as proof that she's not just some ordinary poptart, but she's an incredible musician all around. It's really hard for them to argue after seeing this.
It's not a question of look or the way she wants to appear or not. It's a question of being a musician or not. And she is! Not even a question of the quality of the voice or whatever. It is more about authenticity. Can you feel how authentic she is? I think that if I was in the same place as her I would be drawn Under the waves of her authentic charisma.
Baby, she's THE QUEEN OF MUSIC, not "pretty good". All of her songs are difficult to sing and preform, I mean come on Katy, Madonna, Taylor, Ariana, Selena, Demi, NO ONE CAN DO IT LIKE GAGA!
I still come back to this performance religiously

This woman has a lot of talent, is amazing and one of the best artists in the world and in the twenty one century
Watched this when I was 13 and now the video is 13 years old. God I love RUclips
There is no other superstar you knowll be you be famous
Cause the pic of us don't have a price waiting for those flashing lights.
And I like most of her eccentric outfits (although not the meatball one, lol!) and her electronic and more "traditional" music.
liek if u cri evrytiem
*taps on the back* Bravo, sir!
*****
Pretty sure she was making a comment about the sexualisation of women in the music industry, and the way that they're treated like meat.
Tommy Hass why wouldn't it be? who cares, come on it's 2017.
she’s so talented it’s insane
HAHA her "thank you very much" is the cutest! xD
Best version, still revisiting in 2024🙏
The performance that made me a fan of Lady Gaga.
This and her MTV 2009 performance.
@@ades1394 i love that one but too bad there is no decent footage of it
@@wowoking2 Ikr? We are robbed, i mean, where's the actual clear footage? 😭
Same. I never kept up with her music because it’s not really my thing (usually) but this really made me realize how talented she is.
this video made me fall in love with her 7 years ago... she changed my life :')
Me too
the same \
She is an incredible pianist, singer, performer, actress, style icon, person
It's in 240p, holy cow this is a relic!
Lady Gaga is a brilliant performer. She is the real deal. Her level of musicianship, her care for her fans, and her raw vocal talent is unparalleled. I keep watching this video because it is so good.
After the Oscar appearance things will never be the same for this young lady. The world now knows what a true artist she is.
The rest of the world really late about this. We know it since her first acoustic performance. They have a lot to catch up!
cliffedward she rehearsed the Oscar shit for 2 monthS!!!!!!!!!! and i realized she improved since 2008
i normally watch this 3 times a day but today is a day for 4...
This is timeless. Never gets old and is perfect example of her pure talent.
The funny thing is that, even though her vocals in 2009 were a lot weaker than in her recent performances, she was still better than 90% of pop singers
this is why i love her so much
Her vocals are on fleek
They are always on fleek
your profile pic is on fleek..
I love the amazing way she plays the piano…the music just flows outta her fingers…she definitely knows she’s fuccin amazing!!!
I've watched her live. she is exceptional
i love the way she's playing and singing! so much passion ♥
Still the most beautiful rendition of Paparazzi
Agreed! The new Jazz version she did is also amazing!
Still amazing no backup singers no other instrument players just a voice and piano
she's always been so ahead of her time. so much respect for this women!
The best version...she's amazing
ONE OF THE GREATEST MUSICAL TALENTS OF THE HUMAN RACE. HOW AMAZING TO EXPERIENCE THIS.
I LOVE HER SO MUCH. XOXO.
Kevin Andrew not the human race. Of the monsters race.
so much raw talent that I got a shiver. I wish pop culture was more appreciative so it could bleed through better and still be marketable
This woman has always been fucking talented
You can love or not what lady gaga do, but you can't say that is not amazing.
The years can pass but I still coming back
And here I am again
Lady Gaga is hated for dressing weird, but seriously now... her music is pretty good
Baby, she's THE QUEEN OF MUSIC, not "pretty good". All of her songs are difficult to sing and preform, I mean come on Katy, Madonna, Taylor, Ariana, Selena, Demi, NO ONE CAN DO IT LIKE GAGA!
Amina Koons ......okay? my queen is more like CL, but okay lol
+CL_2NE1_queen I love CL too but Gaga is life ✌
Who would hate her for that? That 4+ outfits/day period was really impressive to look at.
Welcome to 2016... you're a little late
i have come back to listen to this, at least once a week, for 13 years. so damn good.
