Mannn… I grew up in NYC. About 3 years ago I started watching alone and bushcraft stuff on RUclips. Got into camping from just being a weekend fishermen. I know some might think it’s lame but I’ve literally learned all I know from guys like these dudes. Didn’t have a dad to teach me. Super grateful for all the work they’ve done and knowledge they’ve shared over the years. So much garbage on the internet and division even in this area. Respect anyone who inspires people to get out in creation with the Creator! God bless these guys. Two legends for sure 🔥
Yes god bless them. danger men...at work. My mother is a Baird. Her family settled south east Idaho. All her brothers are mountain men, ranchers, horse men, nuclear engineers, and a rocket scientist. No father to take me camping but what great Baird uncles.
I've found out about Joe Rabinet from watching Shawn James and also first saw you Jim (and Ted) from watching Mr. James. I'm 75 and it's totally fascinating plus relaxing - plus getting in touch with what life is all about from all the insanity of the world. My father would have loved your RUclips videos as he loved hunting and the outdoors. This is a great interview!
Joe's Wild in Wabakimi episode with Blue Walleye, and the beautiful cliffs. ...one of his best moments was when he backed into a big crevice, and just sat there in peace. Such a great moment.... Also love his canoe/fishing trips with Doug to a little back road lake, camping on an island for a night or two. Love those little simple canoe camps.
I just can't imagine anyone commenting negatively about you guys taking Wesley on trips. There's zero chance of a better situation for a boy like him. What an amazing privilege to have parents like you. Great chat, one of my favorite podcasts now!
Until today, watching your podcast with Joe Robinet, I didn’t know who he was. After listening to him , I can understand why his channel is so huge. He is an amazing human! What a really cool person.
Talking about Gandalf and Obi Wan, that's what it's like listening to you two! Definitely my favourite outdoorsmen online. So motivating to listen to your adventures.
Another awesome episode. Joe and Tori's podcasts are currently tied for 1st place for me. The conversation was so effortless, it just flowed. Well done. Joe, I'm a huge fan, thanks for sitting down and being so open and honest. Your easy going personality really shines ❤
You guys are definitely self employed with a customer service background. You guys are great marketers! Perfect challenge for your adventurous spirits. Congrats Tori too for starting her journey in this field of creativity! Wish you many years sucess with lots of books. 🎉❤👏
Great interview Jim. I’ve watched Joe from the beginning he is very down to earth and honest. When I saw his video on his rash I knew it was shingles because I got them on a trip in temagami a few years ago.
Jim and Tori I have nothing but respect for you guys taking your family out for adventures, seeing Wesley out there makes me smile. You guys are amazing…..Joe is awesome too…keep on keeping on
Hiya Jim, Although I am a woman I find yr channels soo interesting, talented, skilled, informative, serious and fun. Jim, whatever anyone has said, You have smashed the relaxed, respectful with a lovely manner host & intervierer. Its more like a chat, debate & exchage. Your guests are such impressive men❣️
It took me a while to watch this one as I was in and out. Great podcast Jim!! Looks like the two of you had a great time. No you two need to get out and do an outing.
Both these young guys are already National treasures 🇨🇦. Great interview Jim . Jim & Joe ( and your families ) thank you for everything. Been following you both for many years & we will be fans for life ! Outdoor adventures sure show people’s true character & you guys are 10/10 🎯🇨🇦👍5️⃣⭐️🎣
Talk about yourself. Joe is awful. A Trump supporter who loves to buy and show off his pistol on the internet. Go search about him! Not a Canada legend at all…
I don’t normally watch interviews, I like the camping and such more. But when I saw who was on, I thought oh, 2 of my favorites. Really enjoyed the camaraderie, stories and fun conversation!!
Absolutely loving the podcast Jim. Best part of it is definitely being able to go in depth with people that we normally only get a glimpse of. Learning lots too.
Another great way of making a Quinzy is by piling a load of snow on a bunch of rucksacks, after padding it down you then remove the rucksacks creating your makeshift igloo. Great quick survival shelter
Great show, loved every second of it. I found Joe (and you, and Xander) from watching John from Lost Lakes, so it was nice to hear Joe mention him. You and Joe have such a great repour. Would love to see a trip with you guys and both dogs! Jim, you do such a great job as an interviewer!
My to big 2 source of knowledge and inspiration, on that live show. thanX to you both. insane hard boys. ( Like You both, sneak inn camp is my deal to)
Such a great job of interviewing Jim. You ask relevant interesting questions and interacted with Joe in a "brothership" kind of manner. Could have watched linger. Thank you to both you and Joe. Love your work!
Great cast guys! Thanks for doing this Jim, I subscribe to Joe, yourself, Shawn James, and several others that i look forward to every episode. I feel I know a lot more about Joe now as a person than I thought I had known. I have only really been watching RUclips for like 6-7 years and I am so happy to be able to watch your channel, and similar channels made by real people just doing there thing and sharing their experiences. Again, thanks for the great content Mr Jim Baird!
You can get Shingles several times! When you have Chicken Pox the virus stays on your nerve endings which is why, when you are under stress, the shingles come out. I have had patients who who have contracted Shingles many, many time. The good thing is that it only appears in one quadrant of your body at any appearance. My sister has had it around her eyes and the next time it was on the upper quadrant of her back and the last (as of this time) on her right lower front quadrant.
I had it once, left lower quadrant, starting at my spine and creeping around my side and then left abdomen. Mild case, but after that I went and had the Shingrix vaccination! Once was enough! It looked like an itchy rash, but too painful to scratch. More pain than itch. Took a while to run its course.
Loved it! The wife and I and our two husky mixes were at the wabakimi lodge the night after Joe and Wolfie last summer. Really making me itch to go back! What a special place they have up there
Another great interview! I already follow Joe. I'm so sorry it causes problems for his family. Being torn like that is exhausting and can take the fun out of anything. I love the advice about the starting pistol! It never occurred to me to use safe loud noises to help my old dog overcome his fear of all things loud. I rescued him at age 9ish, so I thought it was just how it was going to be. It really could disrupt our plans if a thunderstorm came in or people started target practice where he could hear it...Great insight. Thank you! Good to know that commenting on Joe's channel is one sided! I hate typing!
I cannot sy how wonderful that was TO both of you . Just not as ytubers but through that seeing the vastness and how much we as Canadians need to protect and also the so many people that came and lived for thousands of years before first contact. Saying from a son of first generation immigrants. Also love camping in Turkey Point and The Pinery and Algonquin Park with a car.
Great episode! As with many people, I was inspired by Joe many years ago to reconnect with the outdoors. Love your content and your brother Ted's also. Keep up the great work!
I love these two! Shingles is no joke, I can relate to this. I have permanent nerve damage from Shingles like most people who have suffered with this. I love both of guys and your videos.!!
Jim, these long-form conversations are amazing. Joe is one of my favorites. Now i'll be watching your content too. PS: I know you too from Alone. Thanks
PS. Before you guys are awesome I've been following since you first began your RUclips careers .Years ago people would summer camp for a month on canoe trips ,then it changed to a week of canoe tripping now it's a weekend trip I learned from Sid Rogers and I got that mindset about canoe tripping That was 50 years ago even.
This is a fantastic conversation between 2 of the very finest in the field. JIm, you're so good at asking great questions and keeping it light and casual. Great advice with the aiming of bear bangers, too! Both of you gents are inspiring to us and countless others - keep up the amazing work! We always thought that Joe's triceps looked especially dangerous with the single blade as well. Thanks for the mention!! Joe and Tosh did give us a bit of a start on the Sand River that morning, but it was great to run into them
2 of my favorite outdoor youtubers in one video! I would love to see Joe go on one of your adventures with you Jim. I'm not sure if his white water skills are there yet, but he was working on them last year.
May I just say, Jim is killing it as a host and what an amazing guest and video. Loving the series bud. Job well done!

Thanks!
You took the words right out of my mouth!
