You shouold have mentioned the Gohan on namek, the Gohan that left Bulma and Picolo on the ship, and was ready to sacrifice himself in order to get rid of Freeza; as well as the Gohan that was ready to kick Vegeta's ass when they got back from Namek. Can't forget Saiyan Saga either. Gohan weakened Raditz enough for Goku and Piccolo to win. Gohan tamed a freakin' DEMON (Piccolo being the embodiment of Kami's evil). Gohan might've been scared when Nappa and Vegeta showed up; his hesitation geting Piccolo killed. But after that he rescued Goku and defeated Vegeta. He even defined his mother's wishes and demanded to go to Namek so he could undo his mistake (getting Piccolo killed). All this when he was 4-5 years old. In this saga he accepted he had great power and an even greater responsibility to use it to protect others. On Namek he exposed his presence to Frieza and his goons to save Dende. He define Vegeta again. He stood up to the Ginyu force even though it got his neck broken. He was ready to fight them again once healed. He stood up to Ginyu (using Goku's body), and was the first to realise it wasn't really Goku. He stood up to Frieza multiple times and was ready to make another stand right at the end after the Genki Dama failed. Everyone seems to cream over SSJ2 Gohan, but the pacifist refusing to fight BS that Toriyama wrote in order to set up SSJ2 was an outright character assassination. He should've been way past that, only doing it for the Cell games memberberries. He's was at his best during the Tournament of Power, since he understood what he was fighting for, didn't make the same mistakes, fighting with intensity and rationale, it's the first time Gohan felt, to me, like an adult.

I don't remember if Videl was still pregnant or Pan was already born, but Gohan got SO much on his head, more than training or research. Becoming a dad, caring for Videl, prepping in all the ways possible.. you just can not be the best at everything, he knew it and laid his focus on his family.
It's probably a highly unpopular opinion here lol but I honestly always liked Gohan's character the way it happened during the Majin Buu saga and during the original Super anime run.. he never needed a "redemption" or a comeback in my eyes.
Gohan didn't even know peace until after cell. He got kidnapped at 3 or 4, had to watch his father die, got kidnapped by piccolo had to survive 6 months in the wild at five or six. Watched all the z fighters die and then had to travel through space to namek got his ass beat multiple times on namek. Watched krillen die at 6 years old, gets his ass beat by vegeta when they get wished back to earth from namek. Gets some downtime to breathe then has to train for the Androids, And then he has to go through the whole cell saga which was more training with like four days of rest I think I can't remember, But my point is this man didn't know peace his entire chilhood
Sorry, this is wrong... We know the future is that Gohan goes on to become a scholar of ki control, meaning that he merges the 2 fully in the near future in the cannon timeline revealed with DBO
i feel like beast gohan isn't gonna go anywhere and we are just gonna go back to goku and vegeta competing to be the strongest to reach black frieza / beerus
Gohan was at his peak during the Saiyan Saga in terms of his character. Especially in the anime with extended training. We see Gohan gradually gaining his courage. He was pretty much a finshed character by the Freeza Arc, until the Cell arc sort of reset him.
I mean, it kinda fits. Gohan is a scholar and is shown to be studying biology in Super Hero. Cell is a product of science, the culmination of biological engineering. Cell was literally created to be Gohan's villain. At least that's my take.
This may be a hot tag, but I think buu saga Gohan was the best while he mostly studying. And the way he acted as The Great Saiyaman was stupid. He embraced his hero side, and when push came to shove he was one of the first ones to jump into the fight. I think they should’ve kept that up because it’s true to who’s always been. Gohan fights to protect those around him is kinda what he always done. But seriously gohan fix the The Great Saiyaman outfit and behavior.
To be truthful I’m not too big a fan of Beast: seems like “Ssj2 Gohan 2.0”. I suppose one could say the same for Anime US Gohan being Ultimate Gohan 2.0 but that was more an improvement: humility, brains, objectivity that the 1.0 lacked.
Personally in my opinion I understand that Gohan for who he is is a person who doesn't like to fight, so literally a pacifist but if Gohan should have a normal life and never fight again than that's what toriyama should have written, Sorry but that should have been what happened instead of toriyama building up Gohan's hidden power main character arc for years but because he did that and people always got upset at Gohan for not training for 7 years and then the crap they did to Gohan in super so it's no wonder why so many people consider Gohan as an ultimate example of anime wasted potential, It's good to see Gohan finally achieve his dream don't get me wrong but at the same time especially after super hero I don't know who else can help protect earth long after Goku and Vegeta are gone because we all know Gohan is one of the strongest fighters around now who is greatly suited to defend the earth and I honester cant imagine Gohan trying to live a normal life when he lives in a world where supernatural entities attack the world every however many damn years no matter how much time has passed while Gohan is one of them along with most of his family since they're all half alien with powers so obviously in a situation like that you can never have a normal life when there's always some space asshole of even an asshole from another timeline that's always trying to destroy the planet you live on and I personally do blame chi chi for this for always forcing Gohan to study instead of training to save the world, Chi chi does want the best for her family and genuinely cares about them but I could never understand chi chi always getting angry at Goku for wanting Gohan to train where she literally prioritized Gohan studying over saving the world since there won't be no studying if the world is destroyed but that's just my opinion
Gt gohan was at his peak as character, as a fighter cell saga Gohan was peak and super Gohan was fine until the movie happened and his character regresed in order to become an intresting fighter.
I think the best gohan is ssj2 gohan mere for the fact that sure in terms of skill and strenght he may not be the best but atleast he got the point he was at on his own and it shown him growing through the show. Super gohan is only as strong as he his because the writters just gave him power.
Gt gohan might be in the best place. However, the writing is too inconsistent with his actual power. If he kept on training, he should not have any problems with honestly any bad guy. Hower it's the goku show. Tis why it's really hard to count gt at gohans actual best. With beast gohan because of the manga and his further train with beast. It's possible he worked on the arrogance as well.
Kid Gohan was peak when He'd briefly beat the piss out of anyone that upset him, regardless of power difference. Don't eff with that angry emotional toddler. lol
Gohan turning SSJ2 along with the beam struggle with Cell/Father son Kamaehamaeha are some of the most iconic scenes from the entire series. It was special. But yeah, it's "over rated" come on man, are you that desperate for content that you're just going to start calling things over rated for the sake of it. And we get it, you like GT.
I just think that ssj1 is the best transformation that Gohan has because he could be used that form a lot of ways But anyways, God bless everyone who comes across this comment 🪽🙌🏻🔥✝️
Wait I am a bit confused... Are you talking about who is best written? Or just which version would technically be Gohan at his "peak" or "most skilled"? Because yeah obviously the older Gohan is he would be the best version of him, since he's grown more experienced. And with that i'd say that Gohan is Super as he is right now is his prime. He lives the life he wants, has sufficient battle skill (I mean fighting on par with MUI Goku has to account for something) and can balance these seemingly impossible to mix life styles together. But in terms of writing and character development? You cannot convince me that either SSJ2 Gohan or Saiyan Saga Gohan don't just steampress all the others. Their respective arcs build up and climaxed perfectly. Also yes, I am a certified SSJ2 Gohan enjoyer. And that means I have to vehemently disagree that SSJ2 Gohan is overrated. He deserves the praise he gets, not because he is "Gohans Prime" but because he is the Gohan everyone enjoys in a way.
Ugh, this new form was nothing but PURE speculative FAN servicing of him, they should of just added either SuperSaiyan 3 or canonize 4 for 4uckssake not do this lazy hairdew attempt to slack jaw the simps that sure followed it as a justified thing >,>; I loved the way Gohan aged with grace in the original Z story going to the final arc, and then the way GT also progressed things...this here...is just nasty.
Super saiyan 3 wouldn't have done anything to cell max...especially since his normal ultimate form is more powerful than super saiyan 3...what have you been smoking 😂
I don't think theres anything wrong with gohan being a scholar but gohan isnt really interesting as a scholar. This is dragonball, sure it may make sense for gohan to not like fighting but thats honestly just lame in a show about fighting.
probably because being a scholar was forced onto him by his mother. So much so that he himself started to believe that was also what he wanted. His constant frustration at not being able to protect his loved ones due to his life choices, highly emphasizes this.
Gohan has always stated he wanted to become a scholar before we even see Chi Chi talking to him about it. I see it more as Chi Chi trying to keep Gohan on the right path and not to forget what his dream is. Plus later on he seems happy in his place as a scholar, something you wouldn't see in something forced on someone typically
hard disagree here. Kid Gohan: soft Teen Gohan: soft SS1 Teen Gohan: Irrelevant SS2 Teen Gohan: Amazing multi-saga buildup climax moment and subsequent peak of the character and his arc Adult Gohan: soft SS1 Adult Gohan: Irrelevant SS2 Adult Gohan: Irrelevant Saiyaman: LOOOOOOL Ultimate Gohan: not a super saiyan? why? dumb. makes no sense, asspull. Beast Gohan: asspull So based on my list here you can clearly see the best version of gohan. yap yap yap, scholar this scholar that. yap yap yap. Gohan was always meant to take Goku's place as the main character, Toriyama saw himself in Gohan. Gohan is supposed to replace Goku as the protector of the planet. THAT is the true role he is supposed to play. He was never meant to be a lifelong scholar. That role died after the Cell Saga. Gohan's peak as SS2 Teen Gohan is essentially the apex of his character arc in becoming Goku's replacement. Everything else that happened after just ended up being retcons and asspulls.
@@joeclaridyI disagree with both beast is dope as hell, even the concept of the form has a little history, first ever sjj design was white hair red eyes akira finally was able to make that scheme with beast!
It annoys me that so many people are shitting on the character just because he is not constantly into martial arts trailing. Piccolo is allowed to get better from meditation, C17 from beeing a ranger and friezer from imagining things while hanging from a tree...but gohan who is an hard working akademik is blamed for getting his power undeserved...i wish these people would try to understand the asian concept of self cultivation.
Well one piccolo was never quoted to pass goku n vegeta, 2 people did have problems with 17 and Frieza. But besides they can be half assed explained but gohan ever since buu saga been handed power minus his training for TOP he been handed power
Ironic how you say he was "forced into a path he never wanted" when referring to Future Gohan. Yet he had a completely overbearing mother that LITERALLY "forced him into a path he never wanted". I don't feel like you understand the character.
@@SaiyanScholar then we just disagree. Gohan was a commentary on overbearing Asian parents expecting their children to become successful academics. Gohan was brainwashed from a young age to believe being a scholar was what he wanted. But he always had more talent as a fighter. Toriyama was giving commentary on how listening to what other people want for you in your life instead of following your own path can often lead to misery, and ultimately, weakness. As well as a complete denial of oneself. It’s the furthest thing from self actualization.
Thank you; I hate that so few people pick up on this. They’re always treating Goku like he was forcing Gohan to train and fight and it wasn’t Gohan’s choice. But Chi-Chi was forcing academics on him and it certainly wasn’t his choice. No four year old says that they want to be a scholar and mean it - if they can even speak at all at that age. No, that response was programmed into him because Mommy told him to. As a Saiyan, Gohan has an instinctual need for combat; sure he hated it when he got started but before long, you could tell he was enjoying it. The notion that Gohan doesn’t like fighting is nonsense; it’s literally in his blood. His mind just wasn’t in the right place because it had been hijacked from an early age.
I wouldn't bother trying to argue with Saiyan Scholar, his older stuff was quality but since he blew up he's gained an ego, and likes to be a contrarian.
@@SaiyanScholar Gohan in Z is the best Gohan. And in Super Gohan is the most balanced he’s ever been as far as studies vs training. Gt is just atrocious on every level. Gohan had 0 character development and didn’t do anything significant.

Thank you! Would be nice if Gohan's power would be further developed.
i feel like beast gohan isn't gonna go anywhere and we are just gonna go back to goku and vegeta competing to be the strongest to reach black frieza / beerus
Let’s be honest we all love when gohan is feeling himself
Bojack Unbound Gohan. Where you ranking him? He was 13,14 years old at that time?
Ss2 Gohan is awesome 😎
UNMEI NO CRY!
Gohan was at his peak during the Saiyan Saga in terms of his character. Especially in the anime with extended training. We see Gohan gradually gaining his courage.
He was pretty much a finshed character by the Freeza Arc, until the Cell arc sort of reset him.
I agree that he was at his best writing ways in the saiyan arc
Writing wise
I would not say the cell games were necessarily an out of character version of him
Gohan: can only get the W if the big villain is a version of Cell
I mean, it kinda fits. Gohan is a scholar and is shown to be studying biology in Super Hero. Cell is a product of science, the culmination of biological engineering. Cell was literally created to be Gohan's villain. At least that's my take.
@@Insert_Bland_Name_Here that makes sense. The only threats Gohan has killed were the Cell Jr's, Cell himself & Cell Max
I always liked Gohan… he is like “I would rather be with my family and studies right now, but if you get in the way of that… you’re gonna die.”
Watching this video really makes me want a bowl of rice.
I’ve never seen “teen” gohan and Goten together before
This may be a hot tag, but I think buu saga Gohan was the best while he mostly studying.
I'd probably put Beast Gohan as 1 and then GT Gohan in a close second. We just do not see enough of Gohan during the GT saga
Even though it’s not canon I gotta put Bojack Gohan somewhere in the 🔝
Super Growth
It's probably super obvious to everyone else, so I apologize, but what game do you tend to use cinematics from?
Future gohans the defintion of plot holes
What about ssj2 gohan from bojack?
I like how in your opening, SSJ2 Gohan is now looking away, like he’s been snubbed.
Nice touch
Wym "now"? Thats been the regular opening for months
Namek saga gohan was the best
How ever in dragon ball online gohan wrote a very important book. I wonder if he kept on training in dragon ball online
Wait, the Buu saga lasted 2 days? Why did it feel like forever lol
I just think that ssj1 is the best transformation that Gohan has because he could be used that form a lot of ways
But anyways, God bless everyone who comes across this comment 🪽🙌🏻🔥✝️
Ssj2 gohan is a base cabba victim
Gt and Beast are the best Gohans for the series, but cell saga gohan is the best un terms of writing and character development
Unmei no Hi for the win!
💪💪
WHATS ENMEI NO CRY MEAN??
Gohan nowadays, to me, is just a waste of space.
We wanted our boy to be great again but not like this.
hard disagree here.
Kid Gohan: soft
Teen Gohan: soft
SS1 Teen Gohan: Irrelevant
SS2 Teen Gohan: Amazing multi-saga buildup climax moment and subsequent peak of the character and his arc
Adult Gohan: soft
SS1 Adult Gohan: Irrelevant
SS2 Adult Gohan: Irrelevant
Saiyaman: LOOOOOOL
Ultimate Gohan: not a super saiyan? why? dumb. makes no sense, asspull.
Beast Gohan: asspull
So based on my list here you can clearly see the best version of gohan. yap yap yap, scholar this scholar that. yap yap yap.
The title of this video are fighting words! 😅
UNMEI NO CRY!
Super saiyan 2 gohan is not ovverated he is just annoying and the cell fight was Ok i guess
UNMEI NO CRY!
Finally, somebody said it.
The beadt form is so ugky and they should of stick with mystic
Beast is nostalgia bait nothing else.
@@joeclaridyI disagree with both beast is dope as hell, even the concept of the form has a little history, first ever sjj design was white hair red eyes akira finally was able to make that scheme with beast!
Gohan's the strongest in the universe but still doesn't do crap
I love SSJ 2 Gohan overrated or not
Me too.
The worst Gohan is Gohan SSJ2... I hate this Gohan...
I like adult go Han over all of them
Ultimate Gohan and Teen Gohan is the best
Gohan the Cell Slayer
"Pity Party Gohan" is the Worst Gohan Lol. Ya feel me?...
Namek Saga Gohan for the "W".
Super Saiyain 5 Gohan is real.
Final Form Frieza wasn’t Frieza’s final form
Ultimate Gohan wasn’t Gohan in his ultimate state
Everything is a lie
Dragon Ball Legends players agree.
UNMEI NO CRY!
Ironic how you say he was "forced into a path he never wanted" when referring to Future Gohan. Yet he had a completely overbearing mother that LITERALLY "forced him into a path he never wanted". I don't feel like you understand the character.
Imagine saying to a dragon ball youtuber and saying you don't understand the character😂
Beast Gohan is shit
Gt Gohan is the worse by FAR!
He surpasses everything in Z.
@@SaiyanScholar Gohan in Z is the best Gohan. And in Super Gohan is the most balanced he’s ever been as far as studies vs training. Gt is just atrocious on every level. Gohan had 0 character development and didn’t do anything significant.
He's the same character that gained more power and success in life.
And He's the happiest Gohan living in peace with his family and friends which means he won.
@@SaiyanScholar He did NOT get that strong lol. He can’t even access his ultimate form in Gt and got beat by a dead Rildo smh. He’s at least a lot more active in Super while still being an amazing family man. Not to mention that he’s a lot stronger in Super. And what exactly did he “win”?? None of that matters if you lack the power to protect that peace and the people you love. Gt was all about Goku and that was the shows downfall.
He's more active in Super, I agree. But that's because there's way more of Super to be included in.
Now I'm not disrespecting YOU the person as I don't know you but everything else you said was poor surface level analysis that requires context/time to debunk. I don't wish to do that as you can imagine you're not the first. But just for the record, Goku didn't start winning until Episode 35 (half way) and was back seat in the first Saga. So I don't really believe you watched GT properly.
And what did he win? How about living his best life in 15 years of straight peace after the Buu Saga + up to 100 more years of peace within the GT window. Gohan was living his best life.
One of ur worst takes yet
Great explanation. I should believe you for that
