The most incredible young guitarist to come out of Japan, Lisa-X is the guitarist on the right side of the screen, they originally played as "Lisa-X" Band, but it turned into Koiai after they lost the original vocalist, Lisa-X started videos on RUclips at age 7 and caught the eye of Paul Gilbert by performing "Scarified" Racer - X. He gave her a free pass to his guitar school and met with her personally over the years. She has released her own album at age 12 and played her first live concert. She has jammed with Guthrie Govan, Kiko Loureiro, Polyphia and of course Marty Friedman. I can't say enough good things about her, she is the main songwriter for the band, she turns 20 this February. The other phenomenal Guitarist in this band is Hazuki, whom also plays in Nemophila, but she actually played in Lisa-X band before Nemophila. New signer, Kotono, was 1 of 3 part vocals in a band called IRONBUNNY, but that band is on hiatus. Drummer Kanade Sato, another amazing musician, playing drums since age 3, has been on RUclips forever and is just a phenomenal drummer. Bassist Wakazaemon, not an official member of the band, but may join the band at some point. Currently, supporting Marty Friedman's live shows.
These two videos appeared a couple of days ago on RUclips... Mr. Eric Martin sharing the stage with some of the girls from KOIA... Kanade Sato (drums), Wakazaemon (bass) and Li-Sa-X (guitar). The sound and footage aren't good enough to make a reaction to them... but good enough to enjoy it.😉 Eric Martin & KOIAI, 'Adidicted To That Rush' live: ruclips.net/video/cJ03ooZvzCQ/видео.htmlsi=FGKs4Q246M_KiRu5 Eric Martin & KOIA, 'Colorado Bulldog' live: ruclips.net/video/MT961QLw5Ok/видео.htmlsi=xIytLmDIH9RcPUcL
I think that ‘Addicted to the Rush’ one would actually make for a good reaction, mainly because of it being enjoyable as you put it, without the quality of the video being the only consideration here. It would also help promote the band (showing them having fun). Just my opinion on it. 🤷♂️
Enjoyed the reaction! Hazuki's playing an Ibanez J.Custom RG8527 (note: she's also the guitarist for Nemophila). I have the 6-string version of the same model (RG8520). Excellent guitar!
You picked another great band. I found this band a few months ago. Hazuki from Nemophila on one lead guitar Li-sa-X on the other guitar 😉 If like this you'll love Hal-Ca of Asterism Gonna have to make it the 30 days of Christmas 😂
Probably the best new-ish super group from Japan right now. All accomplished musicians. Li-sa-X and Hazuki (7string)- Guitars, Kotono- Lead Vocals, Wakazaemon- Guest Bass/Vocals, Kanade- Drums. Formed Dec 2022 without a rhythm section, that joined them later. Like you, I also came late to the party, but I just love anything they do and got every recording so far- 3 EPs. Try Come See Me or Automatic (cover) Official Music Videos for a start. There is also some official live stuff. Metal meets prog, jazz, pop. Genius.
Li-sa-X and Hazuki are incredible guitarists. Hazuki is also Nemophila's lead guitarist. Love how different Japanese musicians will venture out into other groups. Wakazaemon, the bassist, recently left East of Eden (Which is a shame), but she has her talents pretty spread out with Koiai and has done some touring with Marty Friedman. She's fantastic as well. Like other Japanese bands, they are extremeny tight musicians.
And Kanade on drums. I do not know so much about the singer, but all the musicians are well known and top notch. The singer sounds a bit jazzy with a nice voice and also is said to be very good. I have to hear more from her though for making my own opinion.
The guitarist with the glasses, Hazuki, also plays in Nemophila. Kanade Soto, the drummer, and Li-Sa-X, the other guitarist, are both . . . well, I forget how old they are at this point, but they're still in their early 20. Wakazaemon, the left-handed bass guitarist, isn't actually part of the band, just a hired gun and probably a friend. She was in a band called East of Eden but has already left, and she's about to come to America as Marty Friedman's bass guitarist. She's way better than this song indicates for obvious reasons.
Ah, but Hazuki left Nemophila some weeks ago, they announced. Probably got too involved with Lisa-X Band transforming into something more substantial. Btw, she was recognised prior to Nemophila in the band Disqualia.
@ Hazuki absolutely did not leave Nemophila. Her stories over on Instagram are advertising an upcoming show from Nemophila. WTF are you talking about? Get out of here with that fake news.
“just a hired gun” People were assuming for a while now that Wakazaemon will probably join Koiai at some point (because from her social media it’s been backwards: she appears more like a Koiai member, and the hired gun of East of Eden). Also Koiai recently released their latest EP, which is their first EP where Wakazaemon participated in the recording for all the songs. So the timing of everything is interesting IMO. I know on the few Eric Martin ‘Big Night’ videos someone put up on RUclips, Wakazaemon certainly seems to be having lots of fun doing that event with Koiai members (Li-sa-X and Kanade). I figure stuff like this, is why people are thinking she will join Koiai. Here is a link: ruclips.net/video/cJ03ooZvzCQ/видео.html I honestly don’t know if she will become an official member at some point, but I do understand why people assume it. “I forget how old they are” Li-sa-X is 19, Kanade Sato is 22, Kotono is 24, Wakazaemon is 27, Hazuki is 29. I think this is mostly accurate.
@@SomethingToDo360 I'll upgrade her from "hired gun" to "member" of Koiai when she becomes a member. Also, being a hired gun doesn't preclude her from having fun with X and Soto. They clearly all like each other and work well together.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Right. Just to be more clear, I wasn’t saying she’s not a hired gun, I was just making the case for why people think she will one day become an official member. I think with everything that’s been happening, it seems more likely now than it did before. Having said that, who knows.

Koiai/Li-Sa-X Band = adult contemporary pop prog rock. (My description, but apt I think) All incredibly talented top-shelf musicians.
Wished KOIAI done more of this kind of song.

May end up being Japan January also 😂

That’s amazing! I’m a big Marty Friedman fan and going to see him in concert here
Wakazaemon - Marty Friedman is a co-host on the Japanese show "Rock Fuji", and introduced her there as his trusted bassist.

If you are disappointed about not seeing Koiai until now, not sure what you'll think about Asterism and their guitarist Hal-Ca.
I am just about to film final day of 25 days and something tells me you will find out what i think of them
I'm afraid Hazuki is underutilized in Nemophila.
Now when Saki has left Nemophila, this has greatly changes. But sure, KOIAI plays more complicated stuff than Nemophila.
