This song was my introduction to Koiai and I thought this song was pure brilliance. I had heard of Lisa X's reputation as a guitarist, and I am familiar with Hazuki, from Nemophila, but I immediately wanted to know who the drummer and bassist were since their talent was also off the charts. Although I am not a huge metal fan, the combination of the incredible shredding switching 180° to the dreamy piano then, what I can only describe as the Tim Burton hypnotic trance, somehow worked and I was only longing for more at the end. Fortunately Koiai is on Tidal and I have been listening to them on a regular basis. Not only extremely talented musicians but also very smart songwriting.
The more I hear this incredible song, the more I am blown away. Yep Li-Sa-X is the best “Eastern explosion” Guitarist imho (Coached by Paul Gilbert a few years ago) so there is a big Ibanez connection there. I noticed that neo-classical solo towards the end of the song is referenced by the very first time the piano is heard at the start. Kanade Sato is brilliant too as is Hazuki.
