My dad was a guitar player (RIP Daddy) and he would listen to this whole album all the time and then go play on his guitar. This was when mom and him were divorced-this song was his coping to them splitting up. I guess it worked because they eventually remarried. Sade is one of the women who will always be in my musical rotation.

Her breathy seduction has s like no other. Per her and the group, they only make new music when they feel they need to, not because they feel they have to. Those of us in the know, understand that her band mates are instrumental masters. And thus when put with her heartbreaking soulful jazz vocals, perfection. The only other singer/band experience I can think of that even came close was perhaps Anita Baker and her band.
They record every eight to ten years. Stevie Wonder did that too. His albums, as her albums are ALWAYS masterpieces!

This is from around 86 and her real name is Helen Folesade Adu and her mom called her Sade and her band was so tight that they wrote all the songs together and decided from almost the beginning to call the group Sade. Need to see her do this song and many others on youtube at the Humphreys concert in San Diego in 1991 in a white gown that she designed. She started out as a fashion designer. She's like the famale version of Barry White with all those sensual songs. And no autotune!

It was rainy season when I bought this album back when it came out in the 80s. I was just 20 years old and used to love listening to this song from my upstairs window watching the rain fall in California.. Just was thinking there was a lot of life ahead of me and curious as to where it would take me.. And what a ride it has been!! Still love this album.
