i prefer those black hour markers over the newer reference (white) on the Pikachu
A lot of clients feel the same way you do mate, argue it's lost a lot of character in the newer reference! Still a stunning model and incredibly refined! 💯
Mate, I think you ought to “deep-dive” reviews on each of these pieces and their prior versions on your channel. But instead of just talking about watch trends, maybe you can also do a deeper dive on the history behind it. Head to head comparisons like these are epic as well! Thank you for this video because I’ve been struggling to find a video that can compare all of the oyster flex black dials, like the black-dial ghost; Paul Newman, and the rose gold black dial. Also, when you shoot, can you take longer to show the faces of the watch? As usual, keep up the fantastic work and the superb video quality ❤

5 Days ago, I got a call from my AD and it was the Pikachu watch. I always liked the Sky Dweller's but now after wearing it, I've changed my mind. Absolutely Amazing watch.....Thanks for your Video

Like this one also. I visited the AD in my town and discussed this model. I wasn’t sure about the dial and he told me to think about it then return and tell him so he could put me on the list. I’m not really sure which I like the most. I think I will go for the matte black, what do you think?

To think the Ghost Oysterflex was a window watch only 5 years ago. Was on holiday in Thailand and had a chance to purchase one for £23k...

I bought an everrose gold diamond baguette sundust dial 2022 new daytona with box and papers for $55,350 (retail was 46700 in 2022), how much is that model going for now in 2023 grey market?
Firstly that a very nice watch you have bought 👌🏻 price wise in the UK this was has a market value of around £45-£50k
what about the platinum icy blue 126506 with the crystal caseback? Is that now the most sort after?

Hi Thomas thanks for your comment. I have to say all the Oysterflex models are stunning but the plain black dial is one of the least popular/valuable dials in the range. Still a lovely watch tho 🙌🏼

Sure no problem at all. I have to say selling wise the sundust with the black sub-dials is one of the least popular in the range ( not that it’s not a lovely watch ) Rolex do a sundust baguette diamond dial in the rose gold model and that is stunning 🔥🙌🏼🚀

Yes they are a stunning model too. The most popular is the chocolate baton dial followed by the black. They also do an amazing rose baguette diamond dial and black diamond dial, these are the most valuable ones.

I'm quoted as of yesterday a 1-4 month wait at my AD for one of these, or potentially a meteorite version as well. Fingers crossed for what they offer!

Wow! That's a really tough choice to make! If you're buying to wear I'd obviously advise the 126518ln Pikachu, as that's my daily and it brings me enjoyment wearing it every single day no matter what! However, if you're looking to sell you'd make more profit from the 126500LN Panda 🙌

Still such a great model, however not as popular as the Ghost, Pikachu or Paul Newman at the moment.
Huge advantage to white gold. It looks like a stainless, lessening the theft issue for those you can’t carry weapons.

Great video. I prefer a black dial, because chronograph watches dial should be mat black for keeping off sun reflection for car races.

As an owner of the solid gold version of this watch, I must say the rubber variation is very appealing to the eye!
Now the full on gold does get more attention but sometimes you can't even wear the watch because of safety reasons
Mine only comes out the safe for special occasions

This is not for me, I prefer the Paul Newman version sold at auction by Phillips. It's wishful dreaming, but it does say a lot about how a brand shifted from a quality steel toolwatch to obnoxious luxury showoff bling and, the target market changed too. China is the objective indeed.

I have 2 questions ,
1. is the rolex 116523 a collector item?
2. is it advisable to change the gold steel bracelet of 116523 to rubber strap?
I would say the Daytona range are highly collectible watches yes.
And you won’t be able to swap for an OysterFlex, however you could use a 3rd party Rubber strap such as Rubber-B.
It would all be down to your preference!
The Paul Newman is a 4 figure reference and has the Art Deco dial. None of these are a Paul Newman. Calling it that is just hype and naive.
I have a couple of 16518s and by far my favorite is the black dial but IMHO the ring/donut dials aren’t nearly as cool as the reverse panda on your desk.
