I liked your video! Wally's is my favorite base in the game. I like to think of the bar & grill facility as being an upgraded kitchen with some lounge features. It has the two beds that come with an upgraded lounge, a small passive morale boost, and a facility action for preparing drinks to boost morale. The bar & grill practically solves morale problems for most communities while also offering options for managing food resources. Throw in the customizable facility slots and Wally's can pretty easily host a community at any stage in the game.
Agreed! Before this playthrough had I moved to Drucker from another map, I probably would have picked a base along an edge so that my back is to a wall- ie not Wally's. Less routes for angry hearts to get to me. But after this playthrough, with Wally's having so many options for outposts right nearby to block routes, and a solid set of amenities, I think it's a great base to move to for almost any size crew. Thanks for the support!
I play Drucker a lot (on Lethal). I always go straight from Vogul, to the Drive-in. I typically clear out the plague hearts over near the drive-in FIRST THING in the game after grabbing Vogul House now. Why? 1. if I need to run away - the infestations will be nowhere near my base. 2. There is fuel at the barbeque area near the exit on the northeast of the map (typically 4x jerrys). So the fuel is irrrelevant. 3. It helps get my beginning characters to hero status. 4. Usually there are at least 2 "isolated" hearts in that area, if not - the chain is "no worse than 2." That's pretty important: in other parts of the map, a chain of 3 to 5 is not uncommon.
Good comparison. I haven't play Drucker for a while. Maybe I'll check the base out next time. I've just came back to the game and still play the old map from SoD1, the valley, I mean.
Trumbull Valley is a good map. I mean I suppose it has the "con" of being spread out, but there are a lot of "free" heart kills in barns. Also you can easily traverse the middle of the map whereas with maps like Drucker you have narrow access to the valleys that wind up cluttered with zeds. Drucker is also lighter at night than say Providence Ridge.

That's a lot of great info. Thanks for laying it out!
