CCG - let me ask, would the kit provided be enough for an entire vehicle, I have a Range Rover Westminster and the seat are massive.
It would be great if you could revisit these seats to update us on how well it wears over time.
I restored a completely pitted steering wheel on my 86 vette with this stuff. It worked great!
In a world of greasy Armor All wipes and whatnot, it's nice to see leather reconditioning solutions still out there.
I've been using leather dye and repair from German manufacturer Colourlock for years. Awesome results for the money.
This was an exceptionally educational episode. Thank you,
Another great video Joe, keep them coming
Love your videos Guru! If I ever win the lottery, I will fly you to the US first class every 2-3 months to do full detail cleaning on my auto collection.
I have used colourlock on some minging seats and it came up like new and this looks just as good
Hey Mr Guru, good to see you!
Even though the Volvo seats are well worn, it's still a huge improvement on their condition.
Do you think that Clyde's would work on darker leather products, like a heavily soiled gimp suit for example? 🤔
I did something similar with a old honda jazz leather gearknob a few years back. Being black it was much easier to get a even colour. Good video though, im sure it will really help someone out
Great video, seems like a fantastic product 👍
But did it come off onto your clothes when you sat on it? That’s the main thing I need to know? It would be good to get an update on how it’s worn.
No once it’s properly cured it’s going nowhere.
Incredible results!! Will have to try on my 1998 V70 T5!!
Just remember massage not stipple!
Hello from Canada. Nicely done!
As far as I'm concerned this is very good content because it highlights the capabilities and the limitations of the product rather than just the capabilities.
Nice vid guru
Something a bit different there Joe. Great video thanks 👍
I think you need to give a bit time to leather balm, like 7-10 minutes, then buffet. Anyway, great video!
Nice vid. I might try a light orange to make a change to a spray tan 🤣. Seriously though very interesting 👍
I wonder how that would have worked to fill in the cracks and then using a leather spray dye to recolor the whole surface?
The question is did you finish off the dogs couch...😳🤣 Great video my man..👍
It's a shame that car manufacturers are moving away from leather as it can last a very long time if well maintained and even if neglected can be brought back to life with ease. I'm no pro but did redye an entire car from black to a natural leather color and have fixed a few discolored areas.
Can't really do that realistically with fabric seats.
i have had many fake leather interior and always liked fabric more, are the ones used by the manufacturers actually nice?
@@GrindingGearsZero I'd have the lovely thick luxurious velour seats back from a previous car I had any day, over the leather I had in the next car. At the moment I only have fabric seats which are hard wearing, but not that comfortable.
@@EgoShredder is velour those fluffy stuff (like a sofa?) if so, yes those are very lovely
@@GrindingGearsZero not sure, only had cars with real leather.
I love your videos
Can you spot treat seats or will it cause some obvious color mismatch if the Clyde’s isn’t a perfect match? I just don’t want to turn a small job into recoloring the entire seat.
Hei! I have the same color in my v40, what color/shade would you recomend?
I just love how you Brits speak the American language 😂
CCG - let me ask, would the kit provided be enough for an entire vehicle, I have a Range Rover Westminster and the seat are massive.
Your interior isn’t beige.. it’s grey.
Biscuit beige I think it’s called. The short conditioning shot on the grey leather is my Honda.
I thought you entered the witness protection program. Sadly, your drops are few and far between these days
I’ve rarely ever uploaded more than twice per month to be fair. Sometimes it can take a week to organise a video (weather/product arrivals/car availability etc) then between 7-10 days to actually put it together myself but regardless, I’m almost always working on a video one way or another.
I don't think the car looked too bad.
This would've been ideal for the cream leather seats in my old Discovery if I still had it, it's tempting to go out and buy an old Range Rover just to try this stuff out. Well, it would be a good excuse in my mind.
USA Atlanta-7 Volvo wagons over the years… miss the 1987 GLE gold wagon:) Great design in your presenting style man!😊
Yes Guru! Another top notch video
Didn’t exactly go to plan but thought you might still appreciate it!
I much preferred to see a test in a real world scenario! Nice work
@@CarCleaningGuru honestly m8, it’s a good product and you’ve got a difficult colour to match. Used on a darker colour will work amazing.
So its kind of like bulling leather boots? Very similar application
Yes lots of Clydes customers use it for boots/saddles etc.
Not to complicate matters, but I believe the XC90 seats fit perfectly in the V40, believe it or not!
Would this work on steering wheels, or would the product eventually rub into my hands? I hate the huge scuff of worn leather in my car!
I've used Scuffmaster from Gliptone without any issues or die transfers.
Was that really leather? looked suspiciously like vinyl, great job you did on it whatever it was made of looks like it would work on both anyway.
Good work but this color is not even similar to original ;/
Yes as I said they have another beige that would have been a better match but by the time I realised was too late to start again.
