Thank you so much for watching, Natalia! I hope this was helpful to you. If you don't have this set -- maybe it would be good for a Christmas present! 😍
I enjoyed trying out my set along with your video... thanks for the idea of using the q-tips. But my glass pen won't write with most of the colors in my set. I tried another dip pen and still it didn't write well at all. I wonder if you can paint with them, and if so would the brush clean up with water or would you have to use something else?
YES!!! These are lovely to paint with! I bought some super thin detail paintbrushes from amazon and you can use those to write with as well. They wash right off with water. I agree with you that the bottles don't allow dip pens very well (unless they are super thin - even then it's kind of a mess). I am not a fan of pouring out these into a small container - although I have that available. Try paint brushes and use them on dark cardstock! Soooooo beautiful!!!
I believe these are "pigment based" - so maybe they use mica with water? Here's what I found on their website for this "Iridescent Set 2:" www.docmartins.com/products/iridescent-calligraphy-color-1-0-oz-set-2?_pos=1&_sid=1d308c49a&_ss=r
@@anony5021 I have not yet tried on mdf! I will try and let you know what that looks like. I have a feeling that they will work like ink - mdf and pine tend to absorb quite a bit. Thanks for asking!
Yes they do. They are just a joy to use! Are you thinking of purchasing them? I've had them for 2 years now and even with use, they are still full! They are especially beautiful on black cardstock. Do you use any metallics now?
@@KitchenCounterCrafts I have mostly fountain pen injs but I do have about 4 dip inks.. Since I just got a glass dip pen I probably will use them on my Christmas cards this year. Except for convenience these have the qualities that most people are probably looking for.
@@d2row96 These do beautifully with the glass dip pen. You might need to dilute just a bit with a steel dip pen to get the right flow (I'm sure you already know that!). Great idea to do this for Christmas. How beautiful will your cards look - they will be a gift in themselves! You are inspiring me to get an early start on mine. Things get too hectic in December and writing like this cannot be an afterthought! Thank you so much for the idea! I hope you will check out my fountain pen videos. I'm getting ready to do one on Fall inks! 🍁🍁🍂🍂🍁🍁
As a model builder and painter metallic colors are often recommended to have a black undercoat to bring out the shine of the metallics. Nice colors. I’ve bought about 6 colors from this company. Also metallic pigments are always going to sink into the bottom of the jar so you always need to mix the paint before you can use them properly.
@@KitchenCounterCrafts So far I’ve only used them on plastic and they work great. The Dr Ph Martin’s Bombay Teal India Ink I used silver as an undercoat and then the teal on top of it and it turned into a metallic teal. It looks great.
@@KitchenCounterCrafts If you’re familiar with clear paints and putting them on top of a metallic undercoat then it creates a metallic version of the clear paint that you put on top of the metallic paint. People in the modeling community call it candy coating and depending on what kind of metallic undercoat you use you can create different shades of the metallic undercoat depending on which clear paint you use on top of the metallic paint. The possibilities are endless.🙂
Very beautiful colors and helpful video to get an idea of what these look like. thanks
Thank you so much for watching and for the comment! I love this set! It's also beautiful to paint with - the colors shine!
I was hesitant about this set but I totally want it now. I would mix that peach color with one of the golds for a rose gold effect.
It is absolutely GORGEOUS! It'll last you forever because of all the inks in one set! I'd love to see what you end up doing with these.
Thankyou for this video!
Thank you so much for watching, Julia! Do you have these inks? Are you going to splurge and get a set?
Nice review of inks and use
love the different surface swatches! 💖💖💖

Are these acrylic based inks or water based inks with the particles suspended?

Seems thick, can it be used with pH Martin Bombay India ink?
I would think it could be used with Bombay ink for dip pen calligraphy! I bet that would be lovely!
@@KitchenCounterCrafts on wood(MDF board) with brush? Like painting. Bombay ink works on MDF but these?
