    Wow! If only this technology was available years ago when making injection moulding tooling. It was so much harder to do using EDM and a very high level of operator skill. The quality this product achieves leaves me lost for words, impressive does not seem like high enough a praise!

      @Avonisys  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for the kind words. EDM is a great technology and there is a good place for both. When materials get really thick and are conductive then wire-EDM usually is the better choice.

    Is there a safety enclosure or do you get to watch?
    Is the laser inside the water guide tapered?

    • @Avonisys
      @Avonisys  3 года назад

      The process is inside a fully enclosed CNC laser machine with applicable laser safety panels. For video recording purposes we put the camera inside the machine. The laser is not tapered but maintains the constant diameter of the waterjet, for example 0.05mm over a length of 20-30mm

    does this have a repeatable cutting depth? can you do contours in the cutting axis?

    • @Avonisys
      @Avonisys  3 года назад

      Yes, the depth is repeatable. The process is typically applied for through cutting but can also do more basic blind engraving. What is meant with "contours in the cutting axis"?

      @lhxperimental 3 года назад

      I guess only for demonstration

    • @Avonisys
      @Avonisys  3 года назад

      This is for demonstration only as SiC is typically only cut in straight lines or round. In many occasions the geometries in SiC are made in the green and then sintered to the final product. In that process the dimensions change. The waterjet laser can process the ready sintered (hard) material and cut a freeform shape in the right dimensions.
