- In this video we showcase freeform laser cutting of 5mm thick Silicon Carbide (SiSiC). Avonisys waterjet laser technology enables cutting of nearly any freeform shape in a jig-saw manner. Avonisys technology can be applied to a variety of technical ceramic substrates.

- Shut up and take my money!
- Your money is not enough, sir.
Wife: Are you going to spend all our saving?
: What savings
Wow! If only this technology was available years ago when making injection moulding tooling. It was so much harder to do using EDM and a very high level of operator skill. The quality this product achieves leaves me lost for words, impressive does not seem like high enough a praise!
Thank you for the kind words. EDM is a great technology and there is a good place for both. When materials get really thick and are conductive then wire-EDM usually is the better choice.
Impressive technology!
Feel free to get in touch if you are into technical ceramic and/or metal processing (head over to www.avonisys.com for contact details)
This is clever and amazing! I have never seen this specific process.
Using the water like a wave-guide is *brilliant*
Thank You for this video.
thank you for the kind words. Feel free to check out our website for more details on this technology.
I love this waterjet laser cutting.. superb
That is amazing im a cnc machinist the more basic sorta work but this too me is outstanding
Increíble!!!! El sueño de todo maker.
Anyone know price for these machines?
Impressive! The water protects the emitter and flushes the the cut?
Is it possible that use this laser machine cutting crystal SiC into SiC wafers which would be fabricated to MOSFET or RF ICs?
does it foam to break the waters surface tension?
Can you make sphere? Or just 2D?
Do you have Ra readings of your side profile surface roughness? Amazing tech.
Typical Ra. is 0.8 - 2 depending on material and cutting parameters
Brilliant! What's the smallest machine like this that you sell?
Typical sizes are 600x600mm stroke. Smaller is possible too. Please reach out to us via contact@avonisys.com and we can review it together
Wowww. Its pure SiC? what mean SiSiC?
Is there a safety enclosure or do you get to watch?
Is the laser inside the water guide tapered?
The process is inside a fully enclosed CNC laser machine with applicable laser safety panels. For video recording purposes we put the camera inside the machine. The laser is not tapered but maintains the constant diameter of the waterjet, for example 0.05mm over a length of 20-30mm
Great. Is titanium alloy possible? HRC50
Yes, it depends on cutting geometry and thickness. Please reach out through contact@avonisys.com and we are happy to have a look

does this have a repeatable cutting depth? can you do contours in the cutting axis?
Yes, the depth is repeatable. The process is typically applied for through cutting but can also do more basic blind engraving. What is meant with "contours in the cutting axis"?
@@Avonisys a 3d tool path
@@martinmiglio dont think so.
Hey! Have you tried to cut in monocrystalline silicon wafers?
Yes, it is possible to cut very nicely. This video shows a mono-silicon work piece: ruclips.net/video/IdLO0cjpHVA/видео.html
Amazing technology interested to buy and want to see it's demo
Videos en español por favor, gracias
what is the maximum height..?
Depending on the material up to 20mm
Why is this on yt and not on ph
Que liquido expulsa y cual es su funcion?
That's unreal
I just hope that's not really a part
But can it cut at an angle?
Yes it can. The waterjet laser can cut under nearly any angle to the workpiece.
Wúnderbar. This one hand down is form EDM-enthusiast maby? Anyway how does it cost? Please contact.
Please reach out through contact@avonisys.com and we are happy to supply you with detailed information
What are them parts for tho?
I guess only for demonstration
This is for demonstration only as SiC is typically only cut in straight lines or round. In many occasions the geometries in SiC are made in the green and then sintered to the final product. In that process the dimensions change. The waterjet laser can process the ready sintered (hard) material and cut a freeform shape in the right dimensions.
End of EDM machine
We hope not, as there are many great applications that are best performed with EDM.
He don’t let the chinese get their hands on it...🤪
If I win the lottery these guys can expect a call from me... 😍
OK, let's fill out a lottery form together 💪
