mirrors, by design - are reflective. I found that out the hard way - the laser backfired into my focal-lens and shattered it into pieces. I also tried it on the back side - but it will backscatter a bit. The best bet is to angle the mirror and adjust the z-height accordingly. But this will need you to use a cam software for more intricate cuts.
