      Hello Joshua, dear social media influencer :) One other video ruclips.net/video/jBFokoqt3Wk/видео.html says "kindness is in the little things"... So I appreciate when you present a greeting at the beginning of the video. Thanks for that! More and more social media influencers do not present a greeting in their videos. Some others did it before but gave up. To many people It's "just a little thing" and think that "Tuber just wants to get straight to the point". It's a little thing like a slip on a snowy slope causing a huge avalanche! Or if the jacket of the suit has one small thread frayed from the surface of the fabric, it is no anymore usable. What about leaving out a little greeting? Each video easily has thousands, tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of views. And when the same model is repeated in thousands of videos on numerous different channels. That's suddenly billions of views of influence. Young viewers in particular absorb influences without realizing it and eventually set a model for each other.
      And where does this lead? Most people in the world do not know what the Bible really is: The best and most reliable book of prophecy. Almost 2000 years ago, about the "last days" were written like this:
      "But know this, that in the last days Grievous times will be upon us. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural feeling, unyielding, slanderers , without self-control, savage, haters of good, betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of Pleasure rather than lovers of God," (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

    Thanks! This is long. But I had to say thanks. You probably do not realize the effect one of these videos can have on a person. And way beyond the intended project. With me the actual project turned out to be me. I was (am) a very on the go DIY guy, and more of a DIYFEBY (or Do it yourself for everyone but yourself)). I would work in the office for 8 then in the shop or barn for 8. And loved every second. Three years ago I crushed my leg with a backhoe when avoiding wasp (I am allergic to ) I jumped on the back of the backhoe toe where it rotates
    and stepped on the and the outer stabilizer with my other foot and leaned in to turn it off. My belt was barely touching the electronic boom control lever. The boom slowly came around without me noticing when I leaned further in to look at guages and crushed my leg right above the ankle. Then I tried to make it uncrush and accidentally pivoted it cycled closed again. There was only a 12 mm of room. Once I opened it I swung the boom clear and jumped down on both legs, one which collapsed 5 inches. Then I laid there for hours before I was found. But with that, the ambulance ride, the 14 hours of surgery, etc I did not get a lot done that day. It was followed by a couple months in hospital and then several weeks in rehab. The leg lost all three arteries, shattered into 100 pieces, and stayed that way for a year and a half until some cocky idiot doctor was willing to operate on his idiot patient and throw a steel rod, some solder, titanium, JB weld, a hammer, chisel, popsicle sticks, a lever of a John Deere 2030 and some bronze plate and he brazed, glued, screwed and best it all together. And I had only gone him to have it cut off after other docs had said they could do nothing. But he said he had about a 5 percent chance of success with surgery and I had about the same for keeping it. Then he said I know I got my side covered because I know I am better than 95 out of 100. Doctors. And you seem to be a little cocky yourself so you want to give it a go. And I told him that sounded like great odds to me. And we were right. I put everything I had into getting better and stayed positive throughout. I can walk even run if I have to. But I used up everything I had mentally to get well. And then I hit a wall. I have been stuck mentally ever since. Just not able to get going. My wife said it was the traumatic event. But I can't think of anything that happened😉. Anyway, about a month ago I am moping around. My wife turns on the TV and grabs my phone. She goes on RUclips and searched something and randomly pulled up a video of yours on RUclips and started it on the TV and she said do something like this. Just go out to the shop and get going. It kooks like something you would do. I watched it and a couple more of yours and Boom. It was like the energy poured back into me. I went out to the shop and started cleaning up. Making room for a laser. It was a long story but I had to say thanks. So use this 100 bucks to save another person. Like I said, you never know.. I owe you bud! My name is Jim by the way. Nice to meet. I might bother you later with a question. By then we might be good friends. You never know!!!!

    Now these machines are getting more powerful and more useful. I was impressed by the stone engraving. I might be tempted to make some grave markers for poor Irish great, great grandparents who couldn't afford markers, so many years ago. Maybe some type of long lasting epoxy with UV protection to make the markers last many years, even after the epoxy wears off. Keep up the reviews and forging. Love that table. Even as a computer nerd back in the day, I found a love for woodworking because of that class. even got a 'best of show' for the year for my project, lol. Now that was in the 90's, but it absolutely crushes me as well that kids dont get to have that same experience I did. the USA forgot about the trades - metalworking, wood working, etc. They pushed hands on kids to hands off industries and its showing today in a big way.

    Those engraved stones are pretty amazing, worth playing with speeds and power to see if you get colours like slate. For production of 2-3mm plywood model kits this should be fast enough and much cheaper than CO2? 6 combined lasers means the spot/kerf size will be a little bit bigger but diode lasers have smaller kerf than CO2 anyway.

    • @joshuadelisle
      @joshuadelisle  Год назад

      Thank you. I think these 30-40w lasers are very practical and just as fast as my 50w CO2 on thin plywood. The dot size to me is better as you are engraving a wider surface so you can turn up the dpi and therefore the engravings are quicker. For cutting you'll be using an kerf offset so there is no difference between any laser dot size when it comes to cutting as long as the dot is square and not rectangular. Cheers J

    Homing can be performed in many ways - If you simply home to a switch, then the errors will include switch accuracy/bounce and decel time. If the axis is not at velocity when it hits the switch, the distance to stop will be different that if the axis was at full speed (Distance = Velocity over time).
    Best method is to go to the switch at full speed, and then reverse direction in order to come OFF of the switch at a very low speed. That will gain accuracy for homing.

    • @jackwilborn2353
      @jackwilborn2353 Год назад

      The home function does pretty much that. It seeks the switch at a predefined speed, then backs off the switch and re-engages it at a much slower predefined speed. So velocity isn't an issue... You also have little to no control over the homing function it's entirely within the firmware. Except the home seek, debounce time and re-engagement speed are generally allow user modifications.
      Poor idea to head at full speed to a fixed stop... my co2 will run 1650mm/s it would do massive damage .. you want to be able to set a seek speed.

    • @ytalanwms
      @ytalanwms Год назад

      @@jackwilborn2353 Your pre determined speed is not pre determined. The actual speed while hitting the switch would depend on where you are in your acceleration. In other words, if you are close to the switch, the velocity ill be lower than if the distance to the switch was longer allowing the constant velocity to be reached.
      So, it would be important to incorporate an "on then slow off" in order to accommodate. The slow OFF move would also make the software latency less of an issue.

    For under a grand, that's incredibly impressive. There's apparently a 40W model that's $400 more and includes a honeycomb table, but then you're in the range of other machines that might be of higher build quality. I love that they've figured out how to do a self contained head with the newer machines. No more glass tube and mirrors. I think I'd get a lot more enjoyment and use from one of these than a 3d printer. I just don't have the patience for those. Give me a machine that will do it's job in reasonable time frames. There's also the cool factor of cutting things with a laser. I would definitely get proper safety goggles if I were running one of these open. I would think a reasonable fume extractor wouldn't be that hard to set up. There's also the option of just wearing a respirator mask.

The nice things about the diode lasers is that the heads are replaceable for cheap and they don't deplete if they are not used like CO2 lasers. I will only cut and engrave veg tanned leathers. I would guess those leathers are CHROME tanned and chrome fumes are not something I want to have floating in the air in my work space. I don't have a sign making business, but I like the idea of making them - which is why I built a plasma cutter after watching your video on how to do it - still working out some bugs but it's pretty awesome. My laptop goes buggy during cuts and the machine responds accordingly. Need a more sheilded setup and/or a tower computer in a case, working on it. Much less trouble running the print off an SD card on the board (rather than directly from Open Builds Control, but I highly reccomend them for the FREE Cam (online) and Control (downloadable) software. Easy to use and OBCam will convert any SVG into a tool path and g-code.) Bought some sheilded wires to run to the motors, grounded the machine as you did (grounded to the case but maybe a better spot?) I also had wrapped the torch lead in tinfoil which seemed to be the biggest help for preventing the HF antenna effect, but I'm going to make a better sheilded lead cover using faraday fabric. Peace!
