Rick is the man. He’s built a great environment at Balance that’s open to everyone and that’s not intimidating. I am lucky to have trained at Balance for 18 years. Rick has made jiu jitsu a big part of my life and I will be forever grateful for that..

I started with Balance and Rick and Phil are awesome. They don't care if you are affiliated with another team if you ask them a question on a technique the will show you with no hesitation. Because the love the art. I'm glad to know them. They have shown me the life style of jujitsu. To this day I still train. Thanks guys.

Both of the brothers are philly legends, not because of the BJJ, but because of the way they treat people. They helped my friend Dan, and took care of him for years.

Out of all fighting styles, I am terrified of grapplers. Saw the dudes from his studios destroying other dudes from different schools

80% of street fights end up on the ground. You never know, so why not be prepared?

@@timwegener8269 80% of street fights can most certainly be avoided by being patient and not escalating .. everyone says "uhhh it's for self defense" but in reality if you already have your excuses ready and are physically prepared , you WILL get into more fights .
Face it , if you get into fights often you are probably a dick . Period.

@@authenticbaguette6673 never said anything to the contrary and I think your missing the point. Obviously de-escalating the situation without violence should be your primary goal. But even if you get into an altercation once in your life that you can not avoid; why not be prepared?

Being weak holds you accountable for getting into fights .

@CVK I see your point .. but come on , what are you doing around an alcoholic/drug addict to begin with ?
It's certainly your fault for not avoiding them , since it's not in their control .
No matter who "wins" the fight .. it's still a loss because you hurt another human being .. be the bigger guy and try to not hurt them , get them help even ..
No one starts a fight just because they are a douche .. keep that in mind
What I'm trying to say is that being "prepared" will , inevitably , condition you to be less cautious .. it's just human psychology , you can't override that with "superior morality" or something .
I'm not really against necessary violence , in fact I do support violence against the state and other oppressive and tyrannical social structures ..
Yet , your fellow working man really isn't who your violence should be directed at .
