Hi Tracy, This is the first of your videos I have watched. Several things I really enjoyed. No talking, great color choices and most of all…..you dedication to overcoming the problems. I plan to catch up and watch any other projects you have completed. Many thanks for the time spent putting this on RUclips.
Tracy- That little cabinet is gorgeous!! Thanks for sticking with it and for including the crazy unanticipated things that happen in the real world of furniture restoration!
What a wonderful update! Love the pulls and the paint inlay really accentuated those pulls beautifully. And wow what a great top! Altogether a wonderful piece!
I was skeptical of the primed piece, but LOVE the oak top you painstakingly uncovered, and the paint inlays are very cool! Really beautiful result - with NO power tools!! I don’t usually like ‘busy’ furniture, but this is just stunning - love the blue and that brass! 😊 Personally I think the gold molding bits are too much, but that’s just me and I do really appreciate your lovely work here. 🎉❤
@Tracy Miller A lot of what is done to remake or refurbish can go either way. But as you pointed out, you can touch up or change things. So it is helpful to give the realistic example and leave the shaky moments. You showed how you dealt with it. Anyway, good work, I liked it.
Tracy - (I hate myself for saying this), I almost cried when I saw the piece primed. 😢 I got excited when you stripped the top and started to strip the drawers. When you stopped stripping and started your next process, I resigned myself to watching the rest of the video, and I will say you did a beautiful job remaking this piece. You used some interesting techniques and I loved the color and design of your appliques. So anyway, don't mind me, I am an unapologetic purist when it comes to vintage and antique pieces, especially wash stands ( I have several ) Looking forward to your next project. 😊
@@justkiddin84 Thanks for your support! Speaking of washstands, my dear late mom had one that I wish I could have gotten home after she passed. I would not have painted that one!
If you people are so offended over painted furniture, you should probably not watch. Many pieces of furniture are destined for the dump for whatever reason and if someone can redo, redesign, resell, repurpose, it can be of use to someone else for many years. So stop it.
You sure did have your work cut out for ya on this one!!! But I had faith in you that you would get it to all come together, and you did!!! Came out Gorgeous!!
Wow, it looked so much bigger that it actually is. It was an inch thick in paint! LOL The top may have done okay with a pre-stain thing. I can't remember what it's called but it's a conditioner for the wood so it takes stain better. I hope that helps to relieve some stress next time. I love how it turned out. It was a true labor of love!!
Yeah, it really isn't that big. I've heard about wood conditioner, but hoped to fix the top with products I already had. Seems like I'm always making a trip to Home Depot for something! Thank you for your compliment!
I've seen a few flippers use them and was intrigued. Here's a video from IOD, the company that makes them. ruclips.net/video/wvGquMWuVrk/видео.html Cheers!
Hey! We got some cleaning also!😂 I drive my hubby crazy with socks and flip flops-but too bad, comfort rules.😊 Bar keepers is a necessity of life! I am about to restart a country modern tea table (with the big wagon wheel rollers)-and I’m going to look at those inlays for sure! It may be a piece I actually paint because it isn’t that old, and it’s out of style, so painting and a design should pull it together.❤
Gotta clean it up! Yeah, I'm dealing with metatarsalgia which means I've have to do whatever I can to make my feet happy! I'm new to Bar Keepers. It's awesome!

@@tracymillerdesigns The original was beautiful. Someone will strip it back in years to come and reveal the lovely timber. So many restored painted nightmares to admire. 😊
Advice: if you’re gonna apply polyurethane over bare wood, as I do often, you need to know you will have to apply at least 4 coats before you can start to get an even and noticeable finish. The first 2-3 coats absorb into the wood. I do 5-7 coats with 0000 steel wool and lightly and gently sand in between to get the desirable effect.

Absolutely gorgeous - I love the inlay pattern and colors. So glad you persevered through all the issues with this piece.
Thank you so much for sharing your compliments! The gal who bought it was thrilled with it.

This is the first time I have watched you and I set in awe of what you just did!! It is amazing!!!
Gosh! Thanks!
Oh my goodness gracious, this is a masterpiece
Thank you so much! I LOVED it! It sold quickly, and I probably could have sold 10 of them!
Wow! Very regal, very dignified piece. Such talent, such artistry!
Thank you so much! I blush!
Hi Tracy, this was a big project, all your hard work paid off, it looks beautiful....Take care...
Thanks! When I started I didn't know just how big it would be. :)

Thank you so much!!! I would use power tools more if I didn't live in a condo with neighbors just the side of that wall. :)
Just so different and beautiful
Stunning piece of work.❤
Thank you! I'm on the lookout for another piece on which to use those paint inlays.
Beautiful,enjoyed watching your work.
Thank you so much! Your comments cheered me after a couple of negative ones earlier today.
Great job. Killer hardware. I appreciate the silence

Definitely worth all the hard work! It is beautiful!
Beautiful, love the we colors
Thanks so much!
Love this awesome xx
Thank you so much! I sold it yesterday!
I had not seen the paint inlay done before. I like to see the reality, problems and all. It really turned out well.
Thanks so much! I was so nervous doing it on video because it could have gone either way. But luckily it all turned out!

I have a deep love of washstands with natural finishes, so I get you! Thank you so much for bending just a little regarding this piece. :)
I’m in that camp, too, but you do a great job with the painting!❤

‘A thousand years later…’ describes my experiences with stripper. Hate it! You were very patient! Thanks for the video and the great work!
I hear you regarding stripper! When it works and you can use it outside it can be great. But mostly it's more trouble than it's worth! Thanks!
Nice job!
Thx!!!
Beautiful!!!

Citrus stripper is the least caustic and effective (according to reviews). Admire your persistence. 👍👏✨
Thanks so much!
What kind of paper is used for an inlay?
It's this product from IOD: ironorchiddesigns.com/paint-inlays/
I guess I missed what kind of paper you are putting on.

What a shame.
Beautiful timber covered up with paper.😢
It's actually a painted technique, not paper. But thank you for taking the time to comment.
Paper, paint... whatever .. it's a shame regardless.
Timber is much nicer. Stain and wax it.
I respect your opinion.

The original was beautiful.
Someone will strip it back in years to come and reveal the lovely timber.
So many restored painted nightmares to admire. 😊
Not my taste, but you did a good job.
I appreciate that. Thanks!!!
If you want to use a stripper...use a good one...citrus stripper sucks.
Unfortunately, most of time I have to strip indoors, so can't use a strong stripper. If I can be outdoors, then for sure!
