I purchased this dresser from an auction for an entire dollar. Nobody else bid for it, so lucky me~
I actually really like when I find dressers like this that have all the drawer fronts touching edge-to-edge. It makes the front of the dresser one big canvas, and it gives me a ton of creative freedom. My original idea with the handles, as seen in the video, had to be scrapped because it didn't look as nice as I thought it would. I think with the drawers themselves looking so nice on their own with the scored lines, and the handles being a bit chunky, it was just much better to keep it simple and do one handle per drawer.
If you enjoyed this makeover, please like and subscribe to see more. And if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer your comments.
Thank you for watching :)

You're not a refinisher, you're a designer who knows how to build and finish.
Agreed. Your inner eye has this all at next level. Beautiful.
An artist in the purest form
His talent is extraordinary and he is a young man.
Exactly
Well said. Andy can see beyond what is to what can be. He is a design visionary
Wow! EVERYTHING about this video is wonderful. Thank you for not having pounding, throbbing or any other annoying type of music. Your minimalist approach to videography is a breath of fresh air. The project itself is a showcase of your skills and passion working with wood. You have a new subscriber in me. Thank you for sharing your talent and passion.
Agree w this person 100%
You are spot on about music. It ruins otherwise good content.
I agree. Especially when you are watching in bed and don’t want to disturb your spouse!
Me too - loved the video and your design.
I agree. I usually turn off the sound so I don't have to listen to annoying, repetitive music. I turn on captioning if I need to hear explanations. But since I will never do this myself, I enjoy watching the process without needing to know the specifics. I often listen to RUclips news, a Podcast, or an audiobook while I watch a video (with sound off) of someone creating something beautiful.
The cinematography in this video (And most of his videos), is immaculate.
Better than most movies I've seen
Stunning as always with your work
😍 ✳️ ✳️ ✳️ ✳️ ✳️
Was about to say he should be in the movie business too!
I thought exactly the same thing.
I agree. It's really fascinating to watch these videos. This guy has a talent way beyond furniture design; he's also a genuinely accomplished film maker. I suspect he has a very high IQ.
I cannot believe how you turned that old, dated dresser into a beautiful modern masterpiece! Gorgeous!
It is pretty but it is much too "busy" for my taste.
Not only are you a skilled wood worker, your design sense is impressive and always keeps me guessing what you`ll do next. Your comment "Trust the process" couldn`t be more true. Once again you created a one of a kind beautiful piece.
So true! Forgot that but that was spot on!!
Precise videography and editing, perfect visual story telling without annoying commentaries or loud music, welcome touch of humour, and of course awesome design. Congratulations! Love the weather and nature reports as well 👏👏👏
Your videos are always so calming and well edited. Nice job 👏🏽 beautiful work.
I agree. I could watch them for hours and hours.
I totally agree, Jasmine. I love the restoration process but MM's videos are so relaxing! ♥
Wow, that dresser turned out so stunning! Skillz:✔ Design:✔ Video quality:✔Sound quality:✔ Editing:✔ Owl:✔🦉👀 You got the whole package!🏆
Oh man, love the comments because they fill in the blanks of all the fantastic details I had forgotten but enjoyed so much while watching… owl; LOL So good!
Owl. And woodpecker.❤
The wood tone gradation on the drawers looks amazing
Funny, taste is so personal; I would have preferred it without the staining and _with_ the asymetrical drawer handles. But everything is so well done, both in design analysis, translating gut feeling and exceptional execution, in the end it truly doesnt matter. Absolutely gorgeous piece of furniture.
Stunning. You’ve changed that from a dresser to a piece of artwork.
I think this is easily one of the most stunning transformations you’ve ever done! Beautiful!!!
High praise. I Must watch🌷
The original finish of the dresser was just like my parents set from when I was growing up. You did a fabulous job in modernizing it! It looks very sleek and contemporary. 😊
Our house was filled with that kind of furniture. Every bedroom suit was some variation, in different colors. I'm so impressed with how beautiful he made it look. Excellent second life for that piece.
Another stunner! Love the way everything comes together. The new base is perfect. The drawer pulls are perfect. The colors are perfect. The videography skills are off the charts. ❤☮️
I was planning to write the exact same thing!
@@lollygee172 cool! He is just amazing isn’t he❤️❤️
Too dark
Agreed on all points!
Your pieces are always so modern and contemporary. You have excellent taste. Honestly just beautiful craftsmanship.
Wow! Every time I watch a new video of yours, it's better than the last & I think, well, he's reached his apex. But, dude, you keep out-doing yourself! This is gorgeous! Also very impressed with all the little "tricks" you use, like that elaborate but effective ... jig??... you used for cutting the legs. And the clamps & bendy piece you used for sketching the curve on the skirt. For the first time I found myself thinking, this guy is so good & I LOVE these transformations, wouldn't want him to stop doing that, BUT, I'm starting to wonder what he'd do without the limits of an existing structure. That is, what would a piece look like that you designed, yourself, from the ground up?! I was skeptical when you went for so MANY shades of color, then the way you ultimately decided to do the handles just brought it all together w/out sacrificing the interest you were trying to generate. Sir, you are a master, in the old & most complimentary definition of the word. Salute!
Thank you so much 😊
When one thumb up is really not enough… speechless with your multiples talents…
I am tired of saying this BUT you outdid yourself once again my friend! The final outcome is out of this world ))))))
The only problem I can see here, is that there are not enough of your videos. I find I rewatch them all over and over. They are so good.
Bob Ross of furniture makeover.
So young so talented, a genius at work.
Pardon me, for geeking out on your tools. 6:30- WOW! That is such a complex jig! That took a lot of time to create! okay back to the dresser.
WOW WHAT A TRANSFORMATION!!! 👏👏👏
Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for putting out this great content. My uncle, who taught me all I know about carpentry, died recently, making me try and avoid woodworking altogether, but watching your videos gave me the desire to bust out my tool again.
Maybe rephrase the last sentence but I hear you! Same feeling overhere, but then from a n00b to give it a go. Redesign and cradle to cradle are so awesome and wholesome. Go do what you have to do mate!
That dresser came out gorgeous! Beautiful work!
I love to see what you end up with, I thought you would replace the base with a stunner but I couldn’t have imagined how you would transform the drawer fronts. Beautiful result and fantastic editing, a pleasure to watch.
Like your clip and your makeovers.
Your storytelling without unnecessary voices an music ist so perfect und makes me feel relaxed.
Genius 10/10
I must say that is light years better than what you started with. It’s hard to believe it’s the same dresser, even though I watched you do it!🤗❤️🐝
Amazing! Transformed an old worthless piece into something many would be proud to live in their home! Bravo!
What a steal and what a glow up! Excellent job!
Like myself, most people don't see the potential on those ugly out dated dressers so he got it for only a looney.
Watching these videos is my new meditation 😊
Love the intro with the online bidding segment! So fun watching the countdown to acquiring something for almost nothing.
Another amazing transformation and editing work of course! Thanks for the entertaining upload! TGIF!
FR!
Those final seconds are always the nightmare for any online bidding...🤭
That was skilful and creative! I wasn't sure about your use of stains and blends until the end, BRAVO!
I love how you can turn an old piece of furniture that nobody wants into a piece of art.
And you show how you did it in such a peaceful and artistic way. Like... Do we need to see that woodpecker pecking at the tree in your garden? No. Do we love it? ABSOLUTELY!
Keep it up ♥
Also: Is this your job or a hobby? This must take so much time! the way you taped up the parts you wanted to put handles on and then tried out different patterns, you had to remove and retape everytime until you found the one you liked, and every step is thought of carefully and planned and then you take the time to edit it so beautifully...
I hope you make money out of this
Absolutely stunning. Well done. You are very talented. 😊
Brilliant! This chest of drawers can hold it's head up high for another 50 years. 👏👏👏👏👏
load up content more regularly, please! these transformations are priceless, well done and great taste
Wow! What a dramatic transformation. Beautiful. And your attention to detail makes this a work of art!
Your birds and trees are as beautiful as your pieces. Really well done once again.
Wow what a genius transformation stunningly beautiful and clear lines 👌🏼💓🤗
You have such vision! Beautifully done!! 🤗
Your creativity is boundless! This is really gorgeous.
Awesome job, i love it
That up close shot of the snow was a great reminder to me that it's just miserable icelol no matter how pretty it looks 🤣
Creativity and woodworking skills and tools make a beautiful makeover dresser. Bravo! 🙏👍👏✨❤
OMG!!! Your work is unbelievable!!!!!!!
Wow. This is probably my favourite piece you've done. Beautiful.
Andy it's interesting that you used the word "canvas" in the description. Because this is nothing less than a pristine work of art. It's amazing. From the variation in stain on the front to the grooves you added to the idea you came up with for the handles. Sheer genius. I just couldn't stop looking at this piece!! BEAUTIFUL!!
I love your work!
That is so creative. It is a sort of mid century modern with a touch of the 21st century! Beautiful!
Your ingenuity is off the charts! Well done.
LOL, I'm thinking "that's not going to work" and then WOW IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!! You are a true craftsman!
My god… That is an incredible transformation. It is beautiful. I restore and refinish things some time but the creativity, imagination and vision that you possess are just incredible.
ha, I let out a little scream when you put the drawer front on the saw. However I quickly remembered that I did that to my plywood cabinet door fronts to make it look more cottage like.
Yes! I also feel watching your process of when your refinishing refurbishing or just re-creating a piece of furniture in a new way is VERY CALMING and relaxing.
Love your work!😊
Ooo very nice clamp jig, and I love the use of the flexible metal ruler, too. Smart!
Oh yes!
Love this one! I'm a super fan of your channel!! Thanks for sharing ❤
Fascinating to watch--and a beautiful result.
I love your style, so visually instructed and no endless repetitive chatter.
That is gorgeous. What a beautiful transformation! ✊🏾
Absolutely love everything about this
Another WOW! Clean lines, simple, beautiful. You are a master!!!
your work is brilliant!
OMG! That is beautiful!!!
Hi 🙂I'm so glad that I have found your videos, because they are absolutly inspiring and relaxing- although I have no space to realize something like that for myself 😀You do such an amazing and important job and you seem to be very carefully the whole time! I always think of you and your projects now, especially when I see a lot of wasted wood beside the road 😞German streets would be a paradise for you and your creativity 🙂
A-MA-ZING transformation ... congrats!!!
An amazing job! Beautiful piece! I’ll just bet you get wwwaaayyy more than what you put into it when you sell it!
WOW!! One of the most thrilling 'After' I've ever seen on RUclips-Creative and original- Thanks for sharing your talents with us. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
That's incredible! I really like the design. It now looks like a high-end piece rather than a cheap fake wood look. Well done!
Впечатляюще органомично, выше всех похвал!!! Тронуло до глубины души. Особенно носок, великолепно!!! Браво Маэстро ❤!!!
So beautiful!
When I saw the dresser to start, I was wondering how you would even get it down to the wood, it had one of those strange 1960’s or late1950’s finishes (we had some like that when I was a little girl). Every time I watch one of your video’s I am amazed at the amount of talent, skill and pure artistic design talent you have. You have a great eye for what works, what is so aesthetically pleasing. I totally love the redesigned base, it not only totally suits the piece now, but its beautiful as well. I love what you did with the drawers as well, the lines are simple yet not - it took, I am sure a ton of measuring and all that work to accomplish, but it makes the piece striking. I appreciate the way you do your videos as well. Thank you for sharing your beautiful maker overs! And thank you for upcycling, recycling and seeming to use every possible bit and piece of something, its lovely to see!
Always love your final product, excellent job!
Wow! Simply beautiful!
Oh wow it looks like a totally different piece. I love the new base. Delighted you didn't put 15 handles on it and I love the placement of the handles you did attach. Great job as always.
It's an amazing transformation. Excellent job.
Beautifully done! Always blown away by all the snow, too! So alien to me.
You are a true artisan!
It’s incredible how you can transform an plain dresser into such a beautiful, unique piece of art! What a gift!
Over the top. Amazing transformation.
nice job .....
You do beautiful work!
Beautiful!
I've watched this twice, unbelievable this is quality.
@ 1:42, I am already loving this dresser. I think blonde finishes were horrible. I don't know how they became a design choice. 🤔 can't wait to see your finished piece !!
Unbelievable!!!! You’re sooo talented Andy!!!
This is one of the most genius furniture makeover I even seen online. You have such a great eye Andy!
I cannot believe you created that beauty from that beast. Respect.
Wow are you ever talented! This transformation was unbelievable! Your piece is truly stunning. Excellent work friend 👏
Gorgeous! That dark finish is beautiful.
Awesome job! 👍😁
This was definitely a ‘trust the process’ video. Turned out amazing!
It looks very nice after you finish the sanding
Che meraviglia!!!! Bravo veramente!
WOW doesn't even look like the same dresser! Gorgeous. Thanks for showing us how you transformed this one!
It's amazing what you see in someone else's junk.
I got a chest of drawers for $5, gave it a sand, painted it white and washed it with a blue-grey, leaving the top white. Some twisted wrought iron handles finished it off nicely. You're on a whole other level though. You make me want to look for more furniture to fix up.
We had one those dressers when I was young, I didn’t like the looks of it when it was new. What you’ve done with this is nothing short of a miracle young man WOW 🤩 ❤
Your videos are always such a treat to watch, you must put so much time, thought and effort into making them. Plus the furniture you create is so lovely. Love your channel.
Beautiful. Your mindful approach to your work is very relaxing to watch.🧘🌺
I wish I could purchase some of these pieces. They are so beautifully crafted and have such a great story. It inspires me to find the beauty in the plain pieces I end up with 😂
A lot of imagination and hard work! Very nice. 👍👍👍
Stunning 👍😎🐕🦺
Incredible transformation.
