Hello I been watching your you’re videos since you started your channel I’m working on a 85 dodge crew cab conversion I would like to swap my rea axle like you did Mi question is the new axle is it going to be the same width from the front on the truck Because I do have one from a 2001 3/4 ton dodge Ram and it looks or appears to be wider than that original it is on the truck Or do I need one from a 2002 ? Keep up the good work 👌
I put a 2nd gen dana 80 under my d250 and its about an inch wider on each side than the original. You could spacer the front out to make it run track in track if you wanted but I just left mine alone its barely noticeable.
Nice work. The Torq big brake setup adds track width to the front with the rotor outside on the hub vs inside with stock setup. Sure makes brake work easier, inboard brakes are a pain. What rear axle did you use? 2nd gen SRW axle is around 4" wider, WMS to WMS, than 1st gen unless you get one from a cab & chassis then they're about the same as first gen. Curious to see what you're doing with wheels and tires. Can't wait for the next episode!
I'm sure in your research you found the Banks diff cover testing? Being an engineer, his testing and theory appears sound. Although Gale reviews the "flat back" covers. The Yukon appears a little more rounded. I didn't realize the diff fluid temperature increased as much as he showed. I decided to keep the stock cover as I don't do any rough off-roading. I'm not complaining or criticising!! I love your videos, thought process and your quality work!
@@decentgarage I did the 17” brackets for the step side truck, but I used the 16” brackets with 13” rotors on my military truck with hydro boost it turned out working so nice thank you so much for all your videos it helps to see what works on these old trucks and what others are doing thanks David
Hey Tim I remember meeting you at the dyno event for Randy’s transmission! Quick question… would you be willing to make a video going over an intercooler swap for the earlier non intercooled 12v but be able to retain the 81-90 grill ? Btw awesome vid!

Hi, I've got a quick question, those Yukon Axle covers, does the drain plug come with a magnet on it, I live in the UK and I'm thinking of getting a rear diff cover for my mate, he has an 2008 Chevy Avalanche, he wants the drain plug to have a magnet, thanks for your time and keep up the great work.
I use the Eaatwood products on my trucks, and I really like them. Helps that they're headquartered just down state from me here in PA. This is the kind of detail to work I like seeing. This truck's going to be really well dialed in when it's finished and it's going to be a fully usable daily rig. Everyone thinks this kind of work is reserved for "show trucks," but it's not.
Great work but shaving that knurling down on the lug studs is no bueno. Dorman catalog would’ve provided the proper knurling diameter studs for your application. Been there done that when I converted my studs.
Hey Tim, do you have a link for those green scuff discs you used to clean off old gasket material?
Good catch! I just put that in the video description.
@@decentgarage appreciate ya! Thanks for all of your amazing content
Awesome video! Those axles are looking real beefy! 🥩
They really! I love those diff covers!

The width is almost identical. If it's a Dana 70 it should be identical except the spring perches
👍

Probably I will do to same since the on I have it does have rear disc brakes it was from a 2001 cumins
Do you have a link for the torque motor sports bracket? I can’t find them when I look up their name
It won't let me post a link here but if you google torq big brake kit it will come up.
@@decentgarage thank you! I appreciate it man

Man, what a beautiful build. That frame is amazing.🔥
It really is!
Holy shit this is amazing, now I feel like shit any time I do anything to my truck lol
Don't feel like that. My personal truck will never be this nice and I'm totally fine with that
Charlie getting more and more popular with lots of RUclipsrs. That’s awesome for him
Tim it’s looking great I had just received a box today from Torq axle it has my new brake brackets in it can’t wait to get it together David
Did you do the 17" or 16" kit?

Awesome man. I want a project so bad but just not sure what to do yet.
Keep the videos coming Tim. It always amazes me how much use to you make from your garage.
Thanks, will do!

When we get to Goldmember I will show that. It is an 85 with an IC.
Great work! The truck is starting to come together. I'm looking forward to the next video with the Holden Brothers.
Pushing my boundaries by building stuff this nice!

Yep, it takes a lot of times doing things to this level. It's different than what I'm used to but it's fun in it's own sense.
Hola amigo cómo estás saludos y bendiciones saludos acá de Austin Texas Freddy Delgado bonitos tu videos ánimo saludos see you next video
I have a 1990 w350 looking for a rear sway bar info
What’s the part number on the lug studs??
Great video Tim, are you going to upgrade the master cylinder using the next gen dodge braking system, for better braking as well?
Yes, I'll be going with a full hydroboost system.

The second you said you had seals you didnt want to replace after sand blasting i knew exactly what would happen. We all live and learn lol
