@@PrintCloud Phew, I finally managed to get it working, the issue was with my Gmail two-step verification, I figured out a work around using the so called “App Passwords” in Gmail Security configurations, then I had to give the printer a static IP address on my home network and open the SMTP port on the modem.
Thanks for the excellent video, it works for MF633Cdw! I just moved and got a new network rig and whatnot and of course I have to reconfigure the wireless printer settings alltogether, too. No idea how I survived the last time. Actually, it is pretty cryptic how to get this going without step-by-step guide :) And I have been using computers and stuff for over 20 years.
Your comment made all the difference!!! Great video and GREAT follow up. If you do not go to: Google account>Security>Less secure app access panel (bottom of page) and turn on this feature, google's newer security features will block this from working. Otherwise do exactly as the video shows!!! Thanks for the help guys!!!
This was a great guide! Nice and slow so there is no need to always rewind. Keep up the good work! btw. Do you have a guide how to scan to a shared folder? Synology NAS
Hi, tnx for the comment. As all these models are pretty similar in setup, here is Scan to Folder demonstration: ruclips.net/video/o4Y_2ee7qfo/видео.html
hello i like your video but it was working but i switched to ATT fiber optic and the email it is not working anymore i have error. Do you know which smtp i can use it? thanks
Do I need to connect ethernet cable in order to make the email thing work? Because it’s not working for me I have it connected to wifi but not ethernet
There should br no difference, but now google requires double authentication, the procedure in the video does not work anymore, see description for additional info
it is about username and password entering, maybe wrong input? Manuals for help: oip.manual.canon/USRMA-3547-zz-SSM-740-enUS/contents/devu-setup-scan-mail_ifax-mail_set.html
You can send document to several emails in one scan. You can enter emails to address book and then create a group and send the email to everybody in the group.
@@PrintCloud Thank you! The customer service sent me a standard procedure guidance. There was more to be adjusted but I've learned something playing with it.))
Great job, settings is not intuitive, so this is very helpful. Nowadays you also need to lower your security settings in Google account settings, otherwise it will be blocked. Do you mind change music? It is rather terrible.

Thank you for a helpful video!
BIG HELP !!! Thanks for this helpful Video !! GOOD JOB !!
Its a great tutorial, had to allow login from less secure apps in my Gmail Account to make it work for me
This is key for the MF642CDW if you have 2 factor authentication enabled in your GMAIL account. generate a "less secure" password and it will work.
Well done! Appreciate the very good tutorial!
The Gmail app password is necessary for printer model MF743Cdw. That's the only way I could scan docs to my Gmail account. Thank you!
I would like to point out that after configuring the gmail email service, you must authorize the google server to accept unauthorized app access.
You are right, thank you for the comment. I included this part in video about print management software here:

How about receiving a "sent" confirmation after the "sending" message?
Check the TX log, you will find it there

Did you remove 2 way protection on gmail account - check Gmail settings, remove restriction for 3rd party apps, this is maybe blocking your printer
Can i do more emails to send to how
You can send document to several emails in one scan. You can enter emails to address book and then create a group and send the email to everybody in the group.
what if my remote ip adress doesnt open anymore?
Maybe IP has changed, check your IP
