Thank you for helping me to NOT throw out my canon imageclass printer. I've been fighting with scan to email using google for years and after the permissions change I gave up. Your video saved me. Only had to modify a few things from your video that were not specified: 1. Activate 2 step authentication in gmail in order to generate an app password 2. In the printer remote UI, under the Network Settings window: A) select "Use SMTP Authentication" B) select "Use TLS for SMTP" C) everything else unchecked Thank you!!!!!
After searching for hours why I couldn't receive the emails from the domain printer account, you gave a clear simple to follow tutorial that does the trick. Thank you so much!!
you are a life savor. I use this canon MF644CDW for mostly scanning and then printing. Google keeps changing what they want to support but you saved me.
Thanks for your help it worked, my printer was not exactly the same setup but I did have to check the following: 1. "Use SMTP Authentication (SMTP AUTH)" 2. "Use TLS for SMTP" 3. Everything else was uncheck
Thank you for this info. The canon User Manual does not go into the details needed for sending email through gmail on their machinery. I hate to confess this, but I pulled an all=-nighter, literally, trying to get the Scan To Mail function to work. I planned to keep trying different things until canon tech support was open. Well, now I can forego that fun side trip, many thanks to your taking time to share aa video on the steps needed. I should have looked at RUclips earlier.
Google have closed the "App password" feature on all private Gmail-accounts (not professional Workspace accounts). Any idea how we solve this problem without an App Password?
Hi. Good and thanks for service and contribute to society. We are enable this gmail option by selecting user gmail ID, in menu then scan. That gmail id person would get scanned copy as pdf in his mail box. Recently we have installed firewall after that scanned copy not emaild by cannon. Because of firewall, we are using Google workplace if pdf stored in Google drive then that firewall accept to send scanned PDF to user mail id. My query is, can we store scan pdf in to Google drive directly from canon and mail api will pick from there to send scanned copy to user gmaiid. Can we do program for that. Or any standalone solution exist. Thakto
Thanks for a good detailed review. unfortunately, it didn't work completely when I try to configure the printer, Canon image Runner Advance C3530i. Have gone through all the steps with Google. 2 step verification activated Copied the new password Configured the printer When I send, I get error messages that don't say much specifically. Only that I should specify the recipient, even if I have already specified it. Could it be some update at Google that has changed since the video was created?
Sorry for it doesn't work for you. However, here I've attached the Canon error code link for you as a references:- oip.manual.canon/USRMA-0312-zz-CS-enGB/contents/1T0002910536.html In the meantime, kindly ensure the following settings are configured on your printer: > Set SMTP Port: 587 > Set DNS 1: 8.8.8.8 > Set DNS 2: 8.8.4.4
Buenas tardes estoy haciendo la configuración pero me sale diferente las configuraciones de Google. Se hace es con un Google de empresa o un Google personal
Thank you for the video, but unfortunately I'm still stuck. I'm using a iR-ADV C5535 III and as far as I can tell, I followed the instructions. In google I turned on 2 factor auth and generated an app password. All settings in Remote UI are the same as yours. When I check the SMTP Connection in the Remote UI, It connects to the server no problem. However, when I try to scan, I still get the SMTP Auth error. Any Help would be much appreciated.
If configuring a Google Workspace email address, the SMTP TX port has to be set to 587. Google Workspace is the corporate version of gmail. Then it worked!!
Hi, The button to check SMTP server only available for Canon imageRUNNER Advance model in 3rd Generation and onwards. You just need to restart your printer once you have enter the Google Generated password inside the printer
