hi!!! I've one question, does the led light works as af assist light ?? seems the z cameras cannot use de red light to get focused, I'm struggling in partys !! un abrazo amigo
I shoot dancers in very low light. Is it possible to keep the video light on and get a flash when take a still photo? (so that it helps with autofocus and quicken the camera's speed in this scenario). Thank you.
@@HamerReviews Thank you for the reply. I have one other question. I bought a Godox X2T-N and X1R receiver. Now I'm able to trigger the sb500 using the transmitter. However the TTL mode is not working. When im in Aperture priority mode, ISO and Shutter speed are not changing which produces underexposed images. Any thoughts?
I’m afraid not, I don’t use third party on camera flashes as I’ve always found them a bit of a nightmare. I don’t know if that is your issue but I’m guessing compatibility might play a role in it.
i'm looking at this to use on my Z6 so that I can make use of my old SB-900 and SB-800. thanks for the info. nice job, subscribed. do check out my channel too. cheers.
@@patricklindahl868 That's incorrect. The SB500 is the only one you can use the in camera menu system to control the flash from, higher end and professional flashes have this functionality built into the flash itself and it works perfectly with the Z50, Z6, Z7 and Z5. There's a difference in that the SB700, SB800, SB900 and SB910 have master modes built in meaning you don't need to use the in camera menu system.
my fav flash Have it in my pocket during concerts so i can use it if artist goes in to public. Very good light/flash
Thanks for making this video. Your explanation is clear and concise.
Thanks for the comment 🙂
Can the SB500 be used as a remote flash triggered by the Built-in flash of D750 ?
Hi, thanks for your good video !! I have a question about my camera. Does this flash work well with nikon D700? Thanks in advance !
Interesting question, I believe it will work in full auto mode, yes.

No dice I’m afraid, the Z cameras use green LEDs rather than red - so the ones from the flashes are no good
Does it work with Nikon Z6ii?
Hey man! quick question, my manual mode on my G85 is greyed out and It doesnt seem like I can use the flash on the top at all. Any tips?
Not sure to be honest - when you say G85 what exactly do you mean?

No it’s one or the other
Can you control the TTL output plus or minus 3 stops directly from the camera? Thanks in advance
If you have a new enough camera, yes you can 🙂
Would it work on my D300s? And can you use two simultaneously?
Yes it would work, as for 2 simultaneously I’m not actually sure but I’d assume so!
I have a Z6 and SB-500. Is it possible to use the fash as remote? Thanks much.
Not without an additional flash, no

@@HamerReviews looking forward to exchange ideas and tips on the Z6 in the future :)
The SB500 is the only flash you can use on Z6/7 (Z5/50?? don't know!) to control the SB 600-700-800-900-910 flashes.

@@HamerReviews That's correct, what I mean is to use the built in menu system, You can always control it from the flash but I have never done that.
