  • KOMO News Anchor Eric Johnson is set to retire in June, and when he does, it will be the end of a golden era forged in Seattle local news.
It's a Seattle career that started in the sports department.
A Seattle career that covered some of our city's most iconic moments: The Mariners in 1995 and their years of playoff runs after, the Super Bowls, the Sonics and so much more.
But what made Eric legendary in what he did? He saw things and told us the stories about those things in a different way.
    A better way.
    Eric's way.

Eric Johnson will be fondly remembered! He has a love for sports that touched everyone & his stories showed it. I remember when he started. The 90s were the best! In the old King Dome the year we won the West! Legendary Mariners!! Thank you! We will miss you Eric!! Lots of great memories 😊🙏🏼💚🥰

Great old clips. You should post something from the archives more often than when someone retires.

I remember him as a little kid, when he was on TV in Portland...pretty smooth broadcaster, surprised he didn't end up at ESPN or something like that. I guess he made it big in Portland, then went to even bigger Seattle and had his main career there........got replaced by Colin Cowturd I think in Portland.
