  • Bruce King came first. He arrived at KOMO TV in 1968. The King -- he was a classic, a stylist, and a lovable legend.
Steve Pool started working full-time at KOMO TV in 1977, although he'd already done some work for them as a student at the University of Washington.
Seattle woman, Kathi Goertzen started working at KOMO TV in 1980. She was a street reporter and covered the Washington State Legislature.
And, of course, in the middle of it all, starting in 1987, was Dan Lewis. He was rock solid. A journalist to the core. A true news man if there ever was one.
So it was the four of them. Dan, Kathi, Steve and Bruce. And it stayed that way for a long time.

I’ve watched Komo since a little girl when my grandparents would have it on their TV. Now at 48, it is still my news channel of choice for everything. I loved, and still love, each of the dream team and what they brought to the community. The heartache of loss of each was felt as if it was a loss of a dear friend. Thank you for this video, great memories looking back.💗☺️

They all brought something unique that made this team work together perfectly that even a kid around 10 years old interested in watching the news. My favorite part was watching the weather, learning a few things as a kid on how the forecast would be and preparing for rain if it was forecasted. I moved out of Washington in 2001 and it was sad to hear that Kathi died years later. No other news team will ever match the level of interest and respect I had for them.

Eric Johnson is such an awesome journalist ! I love his voice and the way he describes each detail to add to each story. I could listen to him every day. He brings a sensitive heart and soul about the people and situations described. You draw out the meat of the story, and opportunities to cry and laugh and feel good with the families and towns involved. You definitely are in the right occupation to bless your listeners .

I would just like to thank you guys so much! I have been watching Komo since I was 4. I remember when my Dad would switch to the other news stations during commercials, and I would always ask him to go back to Komo. We all in my house had our Favs, and they were all from Komo. I remember my Mom being worried for Kathi, all of us laughing when Steve came into the room when ever there was food, Connie always fight for people and we all teared up when you left Dan. Much thanks from our house to your News Station.

That was then, this is now. I rarely watch KOMO News since the right-wing Sinclair Broadcasting purchased the station. I wonder what Dan thinks of that situation.
