Nioh 2 OST - Ashiya Doman

I've been at the hospital most of this week because of my dad who is sick so that's why I didn't get this up sooner, as I didn't get to play it until Saturday night. Unfortunately, it's the only new track aside from the new region theme.

@@DarkEdge1231 Protection Actually doesn't help against elemental damage, only physical. And plus, on Dream of the Strong and above, enemies hit so hard that protection talismans get depleted in a single hit.

Honestly, I found Ashiya himself substantially harder. The man's lightning stream attacks hit for like, 3000 each and can be chained into each other if you mis-time a dodge, while the boss after this generally leaves more downtime between attacks and only deals 2000 at a time. They're harder to adapt to once you do know the tricks to each, but for my build, that's more built around those endurance test-type fights, Doman being able to just two-shot me before I can get the Active Skill/Life Tap train going cost two lives, while the other just cost one (and only because I was running out of Onmyo Talismans fighting both in sequence like that.)

This is actually a pretty fitting theme for Ashiya Doman given his history and how he is depicted. It's ominous in that, "Confronting the mastermind" sort of way

This is where Team Ninja fucked up. Based on that one cutscene alone you can sense there is past history between the characters but they just gloss over it. If there is one flaw with the Nioh series is that the storytelling is just trash.

About time. This is a pretty good tune, for being the only unique boss track in the DLC.

Probably my favorite fight in this game, especially the Eight Lightning Gods phase. Really well balanced and difficult in a fun way. My lightning element weapons didn't like it too much though, had to spam fire talismans all through the second phase to be able to beat the Lightning God in a decent amount of time.

The actual fight against Doman was kinda fun yes, but the Yomi phase is straight up a frustrating bullshit, for who don't use omnyo builds.

This guy is definitely going to pop up in the next DLC. My suspicion is that the player character will be responsible for the burns on his face and this motivates his actions in this DLC.
