    Hi! :) You are missing one important point in this game which a German magazine discovered recently. The game actually uses HW Lumen on Nvidia and only SW Lumen on AMD because AMD has no HW units for BVH, and you can test that easily in reflections. On the AMD side, the quality is clearly only SDF quality and no shadow of the player character, whereas on the Nvidia side, you will see the quality is much higher in reflections and the player character is visible in reflections like windows and such. :)

      I don't think this makes sense considering the AMD hardware in current-gen consoles. Those versions have hardware RT as an option which as you mentioned is gauged by the non-screen-space reflections present when that option is toggled on. SDFs don't work on skinned meshes, so it makes it easy to confirm that it's HW RT and not SW RT alone.

      amd have BVH but games doesnt use LDS instructions that speed up a lot the raytracing the quality is because the denoiser nvidia implemented in dlss 3.5

    • @TerraWare

      Ok so I tested this briefly and it's not really true. The game uses lumen reflections with the Reflections setting on High and Ultra with a screen space layer pass on top. The lumen reflections don't look great on both brands and doesn't show players without the screen space pass.
      To get the most accurate ray traced reflections you must set the Ray Tracing setting to Ultra. The difference between High and Ultra Ray Tracing setting seems to be reflections. This shows beautiful reflections including players with casting shadows as well on both AMD and Nvidia. From what I saw the reflections of players do look a bit clearer on Nvidia and enabling ray reconstruction makes it even better but this was quite a brief look. Here's a link of a short clip I put together. ruclips.net/video/GWBunxZ23rY/видео.html

    I have a 6950xt and Use TSR personally it looks way better than FSR in this game. I generally put everything to Ultra, but put only Global illumination and Shadows to High. RT Off, 1440P selected in menu but with TSR at Quality mode. That is how I played most of the game and get around 120-130 FPS avg in most worlds, except a couple like the Swamp and one other later world that gets a little less performance on all systems due to the environment.

      So you have no choice, on Amd and the chic newest soon-to-be ubiquitous UE5. Native and TSR are noisy, pixelated, and FSR is not good enough. All this is not good in comparison with the HB DLAA and most importantly with the HB feature here, the ray modifier, with which the image becomes clean and clear, on the ultras, with rt-ultra.

      @@evrussia TSR looks good in a lot of ue5 games, not all but can look good. You should see his latest video the 6800xt is spanking the rtx3080 ti by a large margin in every test but only lost 1 out of the numerous tests. Only with RT on the amd 6800xt which I might add is a regular rtx 3080 competitor not the TI. approx 20-40% faster for the amd 6800xt. That dlss isn't going to help if your 1% lows are ~20-40% worse than the amd (in this game) and it will be over 50% in future ue5 games too. Nvidia has its wins too in certain games, but mostly amd does better overall in UE5.

  • @evrussia
    @evrussia 23 дня назад +3

    UE5 is unique. The game is cheerful, sexy, cute, without tolerance. But here the Native and TSR give noise, pixelation. HB DLAA is good here again, with a sharpness of 2-3 and, most importantly, with the feature HB rt-reconstruct filter (ray modifier). It generally becomes more beautiful with him, the shadows are clearer, without noise. But it can eat up some of the shadows and especially some of the reflections. And Amd is weak again, although this engine is also console-based.

      None of the brands are perfect. Intel 13th and 14th gen chips are weak here again too. Forums are flooded with people on i7/i9 13th and 14th gen cpus that can't get past the main menu when it loads the shaders. "out of memory errors" Most are too salty to even read up on intel news that says to update bios and put to baseline settings.

  • @maslue90
    @maslue90 24 дня назад +2

    The RT off/on setting is mislabeled, at least based on the console version, which also appears to be the case in the PC version. If we base it off the console versions (PS5 & XBox Series X), you'll note that lumen (software raytracing) can't be disabled, only hardware raytracing is given this option. Judging from your footage, the same for the PC appears true. UE5 only disables software RT when GI settings are medium or below, though it's up to the developer to expose that scalability setting.

  • @XDDX_NZ
    @XDDX_NZ 24 дня назад +3

    Huge lead for the 4090 with RT on. Didn't know it was using RTX tech for the ray tracing so that's good to know. From my experience the 7900XTX was playable with Ray Tracing on medium, but I turned it off anyway since it didn't seem very notticable. I put the settings on high with textures on ultra and 4k XESS Quality and that's how I mostly played the game. Frame gen also worked well but not really necessary or optimal since it's a shooter.
    The game itself is also pretty decent but I think I had my fill after about 4 hours in. There's really not much to it and it's so similar to Destiny 2 that I would rather play destiny since the gameplay is a lot better there. The best thing about this game was how seamless the load times are compared to destiny. In destiny it takes so long to travel between planets or to go into missions, but in game it's just a few seconds. Unfortunately unlike destiny this game had a lot of latency for me in group activities which felt bad to play.
