Also holy crap thanks for this. Really like that you showed each individual setting and explained mostly what it does. Tired of videos that are just "Yeah setting everything to low gives like 20fps more than high, idk there ya go."
Even worse when these kind of repetitive videos on all games get ton more views than this actual optimization guides. RUclips algorithms really sucked at this to differenciate between brainrot and quality contents. 🤷🏻♀️
Good! This channel to the rescue as usual. It's so rare that this kind of through comparisons and research happen nowadays it feels like a blessing against all those channels recommending either running everything on low or some other tricks that could fall into the esoteric category haha.
Great optimization guide! 1 thing I found on Reddit which might be useful for some players: If you are crashing while using Frame Generation just close every program that can capture your screen! - For me it was Medal TV - I closed it and the game works with FG. Also don't afraid to set Anti-Aliasing to Ultra with FSR3 + FG since the game will be less pixelated. (The better the GPU the less blurs and pixels you will see ofc.)
There is a hidden Sharpness option inside the Display tab, that is set to 0 by default, I strongly recommend checking this option and increase it, the game will look a lot better and less blurry! Thanks for the video, great as always 👍
Thank you so much for explaining each setting and showing both the visual difference and FPS impact, and giving a recommendation for each. Helped to tune this well on my 6700 XT.
The GOAT of fps guides. BTW the game seems to have a vram memory leak when enabling frame gen atm so avoid it until they put an update out resolving the issue. Also thanks for putting a guide out for TFD. Wasn't expecting it so soon after requesting it
you are my savior. i was literally about to quit playing because the game was so demanding. These settings kept the beauty and took away the jagged and painful parts! Not sure how to explain other than you made my gaming experience so much better, and my PC isn't trying to burn itself down haha
I'm primarily a console gamer but I have been gaming on my Gaming Laptop recently playing The First Descendant. This is an excellent video on graphics settings for us newbs, Thank You.
I just follow your optimized settings with DLAA, medium ray tracing + ray reconstruction, with frame gen, the game runs at 170+ fps consistently with 4090 + i9 13900k, graphics is incredibly crispy and beautiful. Previously with everything ultra I was only getting 100-120, great improvement without noticeable visual downgrade, amazing work.
So what did you settle on with DLSS and Texture settings? I assume you settled on off for DLSS but Textures you said didn't make much difference so just leave it on Ultra?
You won a new subscriber. I wasnt sure my dying RX590 would run this game but it seems to be running fine at Low settings and im sure it will run good and look better with this.
a good stress test would be the white knight map and the 4 pillar mission with all spots activated at the same time. There is ton of enemies at the same time and the map itself is a frame drop mess. Good video btw :)
Great breakdown as usual. I want to add that while all the recommendations are good, the game performance completely changes after you're done with the story (Normal Mode). You'll be playing better and faster and there's going to be A LOT more stuff on the screen. Especially in a full party. Prepare to use some heavy upscaling unless you have a beast of a PC.
I just wanna mention, this game uses your fps to calculate your weapon fire rate, so your dps goes up the higher your frames are going from 30 to 120 is around a 25% increase in overall dps with most high fire rate guns. but going from 90 to 120 is only like a 5% increase.
Was not expecting the king to make a guide for this game, I love you my guy. Also any chance for you to check back on dragons dogma 2? As apparently there has a been a lot of updates that help. As I would love settings for that game. If not then who would you recommend for optimization for games you won't or haven't done.
I want to make a video for Dragon's Dogma 2 covering the latest update; I just need some free time to do it. As for an optimization guide , I don't think there is any RUclipsr who has made a dedicated optimization guide video for that game. However, there is a website pcoptimizedsettings.com that I believe has covered it, though I'm not sure if it will help with a CPU intensive game like Dragon's Dogma 2.
I have Radeon 6700XT. I play at 3440x1440. I have 150 FPS on fields. Some settings on ultra. My secret is FMF2. If you have atleast 6000 series card you can try it.
1440p with Ultra settings, DLSS Quality, FG On, RT Off = absolutely incredible gameplay and visuals on a 4080 Super. 200+ fps when running around with Bunny is recommended lol
DLSS Frame gen has а memory leak. It constantly switches back and forth when you enter and exit the menu with a second freeze. After several hundred visits to the menu, the memory leak can be more than 4-5GB of video memory for just one frame generator, so you will have no memory left for other game resources and FPS will drop catastrophically. This is a new bug in the latest patch. And absolute specular reflections with 100% accuracy are only available with the RT ULTRA + RR setting optional (ideally visible in the mod improvement room on the floor), otherwise the usual SSR + Cubemap.
My problem is that game freezes randomly, it just happens. Is it the connection issue, or is it my pc? Can you run it says I can run it on ultra or high no problem, Nvidia tells me automatically to set everything on ultra and that I can run it no problem, yet it freezes sometimes. I tried everything on low and it still happens. I got no clue.
Just be warned the end game performance will be SIGNIFICANTLY lower then shown here just running around :D I am on 4070S and with these setting fps can still drop nicely when chaos starts :) Still fun game, loving it so far.
I would advice to test different DLSS quality levels with this game. The idea is, on my setup at 1440p both Balanced and Performance produce extremely good results, it might be comparable to Quality, so you could offset performance loss from turning RR on by lowering DLSS preset if you wish. And imo RR is desirable in this game due to various IQ improvements, picture looks more stable with it, especially when i.e. something like hair considered. Try testing it on Ultimate Bunny and you will likely see the difference on her hair.
Thanks, it helps me to understand impact on my performance. I turned on AMD FSR - native AA - cause it have frame generation. And I needed it to have better visuals with decent fps. And yes, now I have nice image and stable 75 (capped to my monitor rr) BUT cursor feels clamsy and world missions icons is a bit jittering when moving as u mentioned, AND I need to adapt my aim cause of fps generation. It feels like u have acceleration on. Graphics in the game is looking meh tbh. And this is only solution to keep it somewhat accepteble. Destiny and Warframe looking way ahead in terms of visuals but the problem is I'm cooked with it and need something different and similar.
I think from now on you should make two separate optimized settings, quality prioritized and performance prioritized. Shadows on medium looks awful compared to high, but high still runs better than ultra. Just a little idea :) Keep up the good work!
I do not know if anyone else has noticed but if I put global illumination any higher than low, when I ads my frames drop by 10 any ideas?. Great video man very informative with each setting thank you.
My setup: R5 3600, RTX 4070, 16GB DDR4 3600Mhz and I'm having several FPS drops. The game recommends me to play high, but even though I test it with everything at a minimum, it doesn't change. My monitor is 29 ultrawide (2560x1080). Obs: The game is installed on a nvme 5000MB/s.
Perfect settings, my only issue with this game is the random ass frame drops i get ... theses freezes are really annoying as hell especially in boss fights ... still can't figure what the hell is wrong but since im far from being the only one i can only guess its a gift from the dev's lol
The object quality is tricky. Going from low to medium can hit you for 30 or more fps in certain maps when you zoom in with a weapon and it loads extra geometry... i had to set it to low to avoid this issue in my computer.. from 90 to 60 fps for zooming in is not a good thing, setting it to low means going from 90 to 85 when zooming...
if you plan on doing alot of group content. the "Effects" part of the video is a bit misleading considering this applies to ALL descendants in the area. including your group. so youre going to see a massive chug in performance
i cant turn on frame generation for some reason. I have the setting in windows graphics on, i have the exact same settings as him in the frame generation part, but its still greyed out
great work as always! very thorough and helpful did you try testing enemy ragdolls for the "physics" setting? I suspect that's mostly what it's for - and likely CPU related
Thank you for the detailed video, the game looks much darker if the global illumination sets to low and I have to set it to medium so I can see more clearly. Aaaaand I wanted to ask something, when I turn on the frame gen & FSR my camera is kinda laggy like a smoothing effect on another game, is it because I'm using RTX card?
finally, someone explaining each settings yt was filled with max fps videos for this game
Finally you put it up!!!! Was waiting for this because of how detailed you are and you actually explain what the settings are.
Also holy crap thanks for this. Really like that you showed each individual setting and explained mostly what it does. Tired of videos that are just "Yeah setting everything to low gives like 20fps more than high, idk there ya go."
lol, this is exactly what other videos are, always the same useless "set GPU high power, update driver, set everything to low in game."
Even worse when these kind of repetitive videos on all games get ton more views than this actual optimization guides. RUclips algorithms really sucked at this to differenciate between brainrot and quality contents. 🤷🏻♀️
I always appreciate how detailed your videos are, and the inclusion of the overall settings summary screen. Thank you!
Good! This channel to the rescue as usual. It's so rare that this kind of through comparisons and research happen nowadays it feels like a blessing against all those channels recommending either running everything on low or some other tricks that could fall into the esoteric category haha.
Anytime I get a new game, you are the first person I look for on RUclips for guides like this. Thanks for the quality info time and time again! (:
I have never seen such a great detailed video for graphics settings in games except for this channel, i love this channel
How didn't I find this channel sooner? GOLD information here! Keep up the good work! 👍
Great optimization guide!

Thanks for the video, great as always 👍
DLSS on Quality, AA on Low, and Sharpness on 1 or 2 got the best result for me
Thank you! My game looks so much better now!
No lo encuentro 😢
@@varinhassj3 The Display option is located between Audio and Keyboard & Mouse, inside the Display, you can see a Sharpness slider.
Sharpness is not a solution for Post procesd AA blurryness
Another one 😎 Thanks for taking the time to do this for us!
Omg was waiting for this one!
Most importantly: Sharpness in the display settings is set to 0 by default, change it to your personal preference to get rid of the weird blurry look.
The Physics settings affects mostly cloth physics detail. Great video as always.
Maybe even ragdolls after killing&destroying enemies/objectives
Best guide for this on RUclips. Thank you.
Great video as always. Always my go to channel when it comes to optimizing frames while keeping the game looking decent
Thank you so much for explaining each setting and showing both the visual difference and FPS impact, and giving a recommendation for each. Helped to tune this well on my 6700 XT.
Always very thoroughly tested and explained. Thanks a lot !
The GOAT of fps guides.

Also thanks for putting a guide out for TFD. Wasn't expecting it so soon after requesting it
this video is great. Thanks for breaking it down for every setting. You are the real MVP!
you are my savior. i was literally about to quit playing because the game was so demanding. These settings kept the beauty and took away the jagged and painful parts! Not sure how to explain other than you made my gaming experience so much better, and my PC isn't trying to burn itself down haha
This video is just perfect, thanks man for this amazing work !
I'm primarily a console gamer but I have been gaming on my Gaming Laptop recently playing The First Descendant. This is an excellent video on graphics settings for us newbs, Thank You.
Thanks bro. But with all that effort; you forgot to put the texture recommendation on the optimized settings summary snapshot at the end 😂 lol..
Hahaha I was waiting for this to come out! You’re definitely my go to guy for pc specs
I just follow your optimized settings with DLAA, medium ray tracing + ray reconstruction, with frame gen, the game runs at 170+ fps consistently with 4090 + i9 13900k, graphics is incredibly crispy and beautiful. Great guide, shows everything, gives recommendations, and explains.
I have been following you for months, your videos are always excellent
Great job man was looking for this breakdown and was having a hard time finding it then your vid popped into my feed
This dude doing gods work right here.
So what did you settle on with DLSS and Texture settings? I assume you settled on off for DLSS but Textures you said didn't make much difference so just leave it on Ultra?
Noo way, I was waiting for this!!!! I had to set my own settings and test all but I will compare with yours
Как всегда отлично! Очень ждал твое видео! Спасибо.
You won a new subscriber.
I wasnt sure my dying RX590 would run this game but it seems to be running fine at Low settings and im sure it will run good and look better with this.
I was waiting for your video, you have the best optimization guides in all youtube !!!
I have been waiting for your optimization video for this game, many thanks!
Thank you for this BenchmarKing! you're always my fav for optimization games.. =))
AT LAST! WAS WAITING FOR YOU MY SAVIOUR!
thank you, with this optimization, I can go from DLSS performance to balanced while maintaining the same FPS.
thank you for this
had a go with the settings and it works like a charm :D
Havent watched any of your previous vids, but wow! Take my sub sir! Good day!
I've waited for this!
a good stress test would be the white knight map and the 4 pillar mission with all spots activated at the same time. There is ton of enemies at the same time and the map itself is a frame drop mess. Good video btw :)
Great work as always!
thank you. it rly improved for me
Thank you so much ! great video and u deserved my subscribe :)
Wow the work put on this videos is amazing thank you for this hard work, I suscribed.
"...if not leave a dislike..." No man, you deserve a like! ❤

Interesting. To me shaders on LOW definitely improved perfromance. (RX6700) Great video btw.
I just wanna mention, this game uses your fps to calculate your weapon fire rate, so your dps goes up the higher your frames are
going from 30 to 120 is around a 25% increase in overall dps with most high fire rate guns. but going from 90 to 120 is only like a 5% increase.

deserve a sub. here ya go!
The best there is out there!
Very detailed comparison and FPS count ✌️
Nice video. Was using 4k, all high setting's and frame generation on. Looks like made good decision.
i was looking for this video a week ago
great job
Im telling you guys if you make this make the sauce double!! Its not enough for us 😅 it was sooo goood
Has same good perfomance as on low settings, but now i can actually enjoy the graphics without losing fps, thanks
Thank you, your videos are always appreciated
Is it just me or does nanite/lumen seem completely unworthy of the performance hit
Agreed.
Of course, if you can't notice the difference at the first glance without the side-by-side comparison, then it definitely not worth it. 🤷🏻♀️
Pretty much in most games. Perf needs to get better to take the weight of it
which setting affects this?
jrab "still awake the deep" 3jbatni bezzaf on na7iyt graphics option li fiha
Good video. Keep it up man
thank you, very helpful🙏
great breakdown. i will subscribe.

Is there any big loss in picture quality vs DLSS performance and DLSS quality?

Tyvm. Now i know how to setting for shiny cakes

Thank you BK!! 👍
TSR seems to improve performance on 7840u handhelds with great visuals.
Just wow, awesome work @benchmarking4386 ! Liked and Subscribed!

Keep doing this type of video, very helpful.
However, the problem of my pc is cpu. I want to know which settings help the most if the cpu is old.

good work, and thank you
great explanation, thanks
2:20 after Hotfix 1.0.2, AMD FRame Genm and AMD FSR NativeAA do not work.
Where about the texture setting and what additional option are you using?
Thank you for the detailed video, the game looks much darker if the global illumination sets to low and I have to set it to medium so I can see more clearly.
Aaaaand I wanted to ask something, when I turn on the frame gen & FSR my camera is kinda laggy like a smoothing effect on another game, is it because I'm using RTX card?
you should test physics on enemy kills. Fire a grenade launcher into a mass of enemies in the testing room or something. I love the ragdoll physics.
