fps generation is like a cheat code, from 40fps i went up to 70+ fps and turned up some quality options, still 70fps, thx man for the guide, i wouldnt know about this option existing if not for this video
I think most of these are optimisation issues from developer's end and have nothing to do with pc or console you cant tell me that my pc can run AAA titles of over 100gbs at 120 fps and cant run this one.
You needed to talk about global ilumination (if its on low its too dark if its medium you will be able to see in the parts where was too dark to see) thats the only thing id add and 100% Recommand❤️
even at just peformance mode with no RT or frame gen the fps will suddenly tank and the game will look like a Nintendo Switch port. so im keeping it at fidelity mode for now. it was not like this during beta
The idea of optimization is getting the best posible performance with the best possible visual fidelity. Turning everything to low will make the game look significantly worse.
Thanks for the guide, but I would like to point out something and I think this will be the case for others, not for everyone, but for some depending on the HW. I play on an ultrawide. Intel i9900k Founders 3080ti (Undervolted) With Ultra Settings without RT, DLSS on DLAA I get around 65 - 65 frames in the city. With your settings it is approx. 65 - 75 frames The big difference here is really the image quality, that's a world of difference, I have no idea, maybe because it's a QD Oled, I know For anyone with an Nvidia card, I can recommend turning V Sync and Gsync on in the drivers and turning them off in the game, which improves the ms response time
my observations from a low end system set global illumination to medium to fix lighting on low settings set shadows to medium low shadows are terrible Intel Xess is way better than FSR u can go down to performance and it still looks better than fsr and display settings has sharpness slider if things look blurry
Iv been playing this forna few hours on series x and got the the same part in the game on my pc with RX6800 and it genuinly runs smoother and looks nicer on my xbox.

I cant enable frame generation in the nvidia section. (rtx 4080) And if i turn it on on the amd section, the game just simply crashes anytime i press play.
I think the biggest issue with this game is the CPU usage, not your GPU. For some reason, this game loves to hog a huge portion of your CPU for absolutely no reason, so if after anyone applies these settings and still has hiccups, it's because of that.
I have a 3080, so I couldn't access nvidia frame gen. I get on average 80 fps. I enabled amd frame gen, but it tends to blur the image and actually feel more clunky. Despite my pc saying it's producing 110 fps.

Is anybody familiar with 2080ti temps? I got a Zotac 2080 ti amp extreme yesterday it went to 66 degrees main/85 degrees hotspot and took almost 320W (i didnt know a 2080ti could draw 320W without crashing/thermal throttling or breaking)
Something’s off, 4K high settings and uncapped frames v sync off and only getting 40-50 fps on a 4070ti with a i7-13700k but the gpu utilization is only at 45-47%, same thing happened to me on dragons dogma 2 but sometimes when I launch the game dd2 gpu utilization goes to 99% and stays there and it goes from ~50 fps to 90-110 fps at 99% utilization idk what causes this pls if someone can help 🙏
both this game and Dragons Dogma 2 are made in unreal engine 5, there must be an issue with the game engine that causes it to not work with your hardware
FSR is in fact not super good, and even after their FSR 3.1 update I would still rather use Intel XeSS on my 7900 XTX. General rule of thumb: FSR is super noisy even on Quality (check the hair), TSR is super blurry (check the eyes/face), and XeSS Ultra Quality Plus seems to resolve details the best, if you don't have DLSS. FSR Frame gen is also super broken in First Descendant for me.
I am on AMD too (6800m) and can confirm that XESS on quality or higher is the best choice based on my tests. FSR is the worst but have Frame Gen (FG) TSR is kinda ok for me XESS is way more sharp, and the game needs it. native is too blurry tests were done by looking the face of Valby in the list of descendant in the inventory in the hub, with XESS I am only at 115fps compared to 160fps with frame gen from FSR but still I prefer using XESS (70-80fps on native)
Do you run XeSS ultra quality plus or native AA? XeSS Native AA doesn't improve performance but makes it worse on my 7900xt. In combat at just the high preset I still dip to mid 70s from about 100
@@noahm5217 Native doesn't do anything as far as I know, selecting it just allows you to use vendor specific frame gen/anti lag, etc. I used Ultra Plus, but a new "hack" I found was to uncap framerate, and combine it with V-Sync, now I run native 4k with a fairly stable 60 FPS 90% of the time.

Im so tired of games releasing poorly optimized. 4080 Super + 7800x3d at max video settings set to 1440p runs at an unstable 90fps and with DLSS it's like 110 but a bit smoother. Nothing about this game should be demanding to the point where I have to turn settings down. Also 100% enable hardware cursor.

because they not loading all shaders so u don't wait half an hour in the shader preparation screen its the engine like that it will still shader stutter in game when u load a new character or any object really there is nothing we can really do about it except lowering settings a bit to smooth those stutters out
bro do you know why the game uses the integrated card of my laptop instead of the dedicated one I can't find a way to change it and that only happens to me with this game I have a 1650 and it works very bad in low graphics.
On windows search, search for graphics settings then click browse where you will be looking for the actual game file clicking through folders (you will be looking fir the .exe file in your hard drive mine was named acer(c:).click on program files(x86), steam, steam apps, common, the game (first descendant folder then click exe and add). There you can do options and high performance (your actual gpu)
for me i have enforced all limits in my bios so it does not crash it still traversal stutters tho but hey its intel I also don't use frame gen I cant support the insane input delay I cant aim like that lol

Yo I have a 4060 i9 32gb ram and usually I run all my games at 1440p easily as in elden ring warzone etc, but the first descendent absolutely cools my gaming laptop at temps of 85c and makes my speakers crackle even with cooler boost on. Is this the games fault or is my laptop too weak
What cpu have you got? If you have a 4 core its gonna be hot ass ima be honest with you. I dont have high end cpu only ryzen 7 5700x 8 cores and it goes really fast for me

Dude the PC Client is pretty bad man, like I love the game buy I get paranoid about my expensive PC being weird and even showed a glitchy green screen when I started the game which scared the shiet out of me thinking my PC got fked up.

I would recommend leaving it off until a patch rolls out for consoles.

If you use Upscaling and it looks blurry use sharpening in display settings and you'll be good!
you can also increase sharpness under display tab for more crisp look 🔥🔥🔥

i find capping fps with amd fsr more smooth. also setting fsr to native AA turn the game more visible and more sharp.

1080ti should work on high settings with my i9 13900k yet i have to downgrade the graphics because its badly optimalised

i think thats because u have 30 real frames (which is your set cap) and 30 interpolated (generated)

with a 3080ti laptop here with cooler booster, laptop cooler stand and a standing room fan and 30° ambient temperature. 85° constant

Me with Ray Tracing can go up to 20GB though. With Ray Tracing off, 16GB is completely normal. 🤷♀

Dude the PC Client is pretty bad man, like I love the game buy I get paranoid about my expensive PC being weird and even showed a glitchy green screen when I started the game which scared the shiet out of me thinking my PC got fked up.
This game is cool..in the beginning. But lets be honest, you cant optimize repetitiveness
its a looter shooter, same mobs just different areas, whats appealing are the bosses, future raids and the process of building your character.
