I think they will make adjustments to the ultimate weapons to make it more powerful. Tamer right now is more than rare tier more like ultimate tier and even without unique ability it still shines.
I saw from another first descendant content creator that for SMGs, the python surprisingly has the highest DPS including crit rate and crit damage in the calculation
Idk kinda bad advice, gun wise it’s alright but the advice about your modules or Bonus stats is kinda weak. You preferably want to use maxed out mods than throwing a useless amount of non upgraded mods onto your gun. For example if you don’t have any catalyst or activators, max out 4 good modules and use them. This is much more efficient than using 8 purple non upgraded modules
I love Greg's but it just pales in comparison to Thunder Cage and how easy it is to acquire and upgrade. They need to rework it so the bombardment occurs more often
For anyone wanting to put an element in your weapon sub-stats, DON’T😂 unless you’re trying to do very specific things like doing specific damage to a boss’ elemental weakness, and if you don’t mind having multiple copies of the same weapons. Instead roll for Firearm/Explosive ATK, Weakpoint DMG, Fire Rate, Reload and Max Rounds. Crit Chance and Crit DMG are dependent on the weapon. You always want universal stats that benefit all activities and you can swap in the elements by changing mods. Also some elements are better than others when it comes to damage, for example Electric will put a small DOT on an enemy as well as lower their defense, so you do more damage to them. Ultimately you do as you please, but this is my humble opinion.
Yeah plus you can just get mods that add elemental attacks to your gun and you can switch them off. So it's better to have a universal gun with universal substats
Elemental Damage is another multiplicator which is why you want it. I'm not sure if the trait works the same as the modules tho, and if they stack etc.
fire rate and reload aren't even stats you can roll for. You also can only roll for 4 stats. Modding for boss/faction weakness is also a massive damage boost. You should be striving for that and having a sub perk element can allow you to double dip into a bosses weakness. if you're against Colossi, you can triple dip with Colossus damage + Primary effective element modded + sub stat secondary weak element. When you get into later hardmode fights this can and will make a massive difference in the fights. most pub matches fail because people aren't bringing the right set ups to exploit weaknesses for a massive damage increase, which in turn leads to dying or failing dps checks (HM Devourer, Obstructor, Hanged Man, etc) There is a certain point where "general damage" just won't cut it
@@TheLotusEaterUnveiled I honestly thought I had seen those as options, but I disagree on the element as a roll because other stats are much more beneficial than an extra 1-2k elemental damage, I doubt it’s multiplicative🤷♂️ as for faction damage, that’s also not really beneficial cuz regular mobs die in a couple shots even in hard mode. The only beneficial “damage to X” is the Colossus one. Also you don’t want two separate elements at the same time because they do not stack their respective debuffs, for example you cannot both burn and poison at the same time from one source.
@@coldfries8976 I doubt the elemental damage roll on the sub-stats is a multiplier, it is a flat damage number. The mods are multipliers that then get added on top of your own damage. They do stack however, if you have a poison roll, and add poison mods they do increase the values of your damage. Or if you have a fire roll and put in an electric mod, your weapon does both damage types, but it will only trigger one of them, idk how it picks which one, probably by the highest value. I still don’t put too much value on an elemental roll🤷♂️ I much prefer raw damage, that I can then add to with my elemental mods.
Pro tip: you can reload cancel by rolling, using certain skills, or even swapping to another weapon. For example using thunder cage you can reload cancel at around 30% of the animation. Slower weapons usually cancel at around 50%.

I was running the Eternal Willpower AR for a while, but have switched to the Phantom Pain(AR). It has a faster fire rate, faster reload and much less recoil than the EW. I think it's a much better weapon, but not available until around level 70ish.

I never thought I woulda chose one of the best rare ars in the game. I chose it because I loved the design of the gun I wasn’t even looking at its stats
The tamer does have high dps but it seems like to me, every time I bring it to a boss fight the game decides its not going to drop general rounds for the entire fight. So I put that thing away for good cause I end up using everything but that during a fight.
@@eula8139 at this point my Eternal Willpower is doing 300k+ dps and still isn't fully built yet so I'm sticking with that for awhile cause I enjoy it. I'm going to start on a scout rifle next for small weak points. I'm grinding ultimate Viessa right now so I probably won't get to that though for awhile cause rng hates me
I'm just now starting out, when do i worry about keeping weapons and paying attention to the rolls? I've just been breaking down everything besides highest dps per slot.
don't bother until you get to hard mode and have level 100 drops, you can get purple weapons easily or just bring up their level if you have one saved up. Also weapon substats will be roll lower, so don't to reroll anything until level 100. Just keep switching weapons and bring up their proficiency for mastery rank progress
@CHEA7CODE Once you get a Tamer machine gun you can keep that and level it up every 10 levels or so. That'll last you till end game. But yeah, not realtor worth keeping much until you get to Hard mode. Which would be level 100 gear.
Really not until super end game. And even then since you can reroll anything you don’t really need to worry about anything except hard mode boss fights. I’ve been 100 for a while and since I’m still working towards Ult Descendants I’m just checking there is at least one purple or gold element, and if it can, also colossus damage, and then swap the elemental mod depending on which boss I’m fighting. I’ve only done the +mod space boost on one weapon due to only having a couple. Going for ‘the god roll’ is around when you start doing that.
Got into a mission with a rocket spammer. Worst thing ever as you can't see a thing. I just stood back and let him do everything. I wasn't alone, another player stood back with me. If you want to spam that launcher, keep it to the interception missions or play private. If you're on my team and start spamming that sh1t, I'll stand back and let you do it all.

That include colossus fights. They are useless... I solo first 5 hardmode bosses so when I go public in those fights, it's to help others and I ain't helping a rocket spammer.
DPS doesn't count for crit and other stat modifiers. Just counting for Crit %, Perforator actually has better DPS than Tamer, and the Assassin's Edge does too. Hell even the normal Burning Hound has near the same DPS as Tamer before mods when accounting for Crit. Go nuts guys. I'm also sure there's a rare beam rifle that's gonna come outta the works for meta soon. They're multiplier is crazy
Please try the perforator if you see this, i'm MR 21 with 160h. It has a 2.7x weak point multiplier with a 20% base cc and 2x CD multi. PLEASE TRY FOR MULTI MILL SHOTS
Gregs tac rifle for the extra explosives on esiemo,you shoot mines shoot gun boom explosion everywhere and i believe the guns explosives count as part of his passive.
Been using Vestal Organ until I got an ultimate one. (Actually the next thing you talk about.) (The reload is fine, you just drop the rounds, stow it, reload when running somewhere. Guess I’m used to that from Destiny. There's another way to use Sigvore's Proof you don't mention. Since the rocket detonates when you let off aim, if you hold aim, fire at those stupid boss spheres, and can time it correctly, you can detonate it mid-air when it's over all the spheres. Sure, it's tricky, but it's a lot easier than trying to hold aim and be sure to fire right when it's targeting one. Or a lot of times you can aim for the boss head, as the explosive range will get the spheres. Good luck trying to get an Ultimate weapon drop when searching for it. I've had the quest to do Divine Punishment since my first descendant was level 10. Every day since launch basically I've gone to where that missing part supposedly drops, run the thing 3-5 times, and not gotten a single drop of it. So, probably 20-30 tries to get the missing part drop and it's not dropped. I like Tamer, but that move reduction really kills me. That and the reload is super long. I think once I hit 40 prof with it I'll only be using it for boss fights. (Until maybe I can boost it's mod capacity and have the spare room to negate the move penalty with some +move speed.)

For Tamer, you do not need Crit Rate or even Crit Damage. Tamer's Base Crit Rate is way too low to be worth getting Crit modules for it. If you got 10% crit rate on module, that only adds 1% to your final crit rate for tamer.
I do a bunch of colossus farming with my thunder cage, nearing 600k dps with weak point , crit dmg, crit rate and dmg against colossus being the play. Not sure you want fire attack on Thunder cage.. but to each their own
I've been using Tamer since I entered hardmode, but now that it's time commit by investing resources into one gun I'm thinking about choosing Thunder Cage as the main one.
This game places too much emphasis on raw stats over skill. The grind once you get to hard mode is just crazy. It's not hard to shoot the shoulder of a boss while dodging his attacks. The hardest part is getting all the mats to increase your weapon's dps.
I dont understand the term sweaty being placed for gley and i dont even play her. Her kit literally focused on straight constant dps with any wepon. Thats normal for her kit, so hows that sweaty? Genuine question. 😅😂
I dont get it i have nazeistras devotion on lvl 84 and explorers path on lvl 80 the explorers path is still better in firearm atk why should i choose nazeistras devotion if the firearm atk is less butt zhe dps is higher whats more importent and Why pls help
I like thunder cage's raw stats especially if you add more crit with supply moisture but I find the legendary perk to be a bit redundant on Valby since she already has great AoE and zone control. Once I get more materials I would definitely like to invest into a more boss specific weapon.
Why nobody increase Ultimate weapons passives level? I don't know/understand something or is it just not worth it? Really to get Thunder Cage to lv 4 (max for all Ultimates I think?) it;s just about 1-2h of work. Same for fallen hope.

Lol. I dont think that people who play gley rocket are being sweaty. To me a sweat player is a try hard who takes things too serious and only wants to win most players like that have a bad attitude. People are using gley this way because of youtubers who spread the word and also building gley like this is super cheap and the build is consistent, versatile because it works for AoE situations too and carries you through the content with little effort and investment. Definitely a more free to play build that is the real reason not because they are trying to be sweaty
GLey Rocket spam isn't sweaty, it's literally an expected build for her and makes total sense. You'd use a high fire rate purple ammo gun with mass damage if you too had unlimited ammo :)
Im using endering legacy with Every slot Catalyized Says 500k dps on the gun but we all know it isn't accurate. I wanted a gun that had Higher crit chance/mag size than tamer that didn't fall to far behind when it came to dmg per bullet and fire rate. It's special effect also increases my firearm attack dmg and reduces the enemies fire resistance so i dont have to swap guns/mods for different element resistances. I use blair with backfire to add 15% base crit chance which puts the weapon close to 50% critchance.
Yea this is an ongoing problem where people only assume top tier guns based on in game DPS numbers, which are A) already calculated incorrectly for raw damage, whatever formula they use in the UI gets more innacurate the smaller the mag size and longer cycle times. It favors guns exactly like Tamer and lies about most other weapons. And B) It /never/ includes other forms of damage like elementals, mods that provide bonus damage over time, etc. As a result in the game DPS number tells you crit, crit damage, fire rate, large mag, is th eonly way to play.
You can make bunny tank edition. i can facetank first hard interception whit mine. Pair it whit high voltage mod(dont have it myself yet) and you got a good tank bunny.
I like none of these choices (except tamer.) Some of these like Gregs Reversed Fate is so situational. Why not Sonic Co-op the scout rifle that just absolutely slaps?
There's about six different weapons that would be more useful than sigvores truth it's really meant for everything that's not hard mode where it then gets surpassed by just about every other ultimate weapon
Thé Thunder Cage is not only good on bunny on valby as wel put thé chill damage mod on there and when you use An abilety on valby with here passieve laundry it weakens thé enemy defens to shok and chill

Bro when was this??? I understand this is a hot take but hear me out ok? Lstar, is the best LMG. And always has been. If used right you can use the reload feature very few times. It has high dps, and once you manage the recoil it’s an amazingly accurate weapon for long range. It out does the Rampage by being simple, and out does the spitfire with a higher fire rate and higher damage.

This is not true at all. Haven't paid one dime and I've fully enhanced my two main ultimate weapons (fallen hope and Greg's reverse fate) with the best mods and reactor and ultimate modules. Also, beat the game on hard and solo all the bosses (except hangman because the game won't let you). All the bosses are easier to solo, rather than with a group. It's not pay 2 win at all. If you're having trouble, it's just a skill issue.
Tamer is one of the weakest weapons bro its not even top10. it lacks crit and weakpoint dmg which is most important vs bosses. literaly any other weapon who can do three of this will be multiplicatyive beter than tamer.
tamer isnt that good...the ultimate one does...maybe they have plan. They just want to see how many players stay play the game, how many people bought using real money

Wish I hadn't...bored out of my mind now. never thought the power you get from that would ruin the game but it did. This game is so lacking in hard mode content at this point. for the ppl saying we don't need crits on tamer, currently with crit rate + crit dmg maxed modules, the total dps is 570k. but without it, using other mods suggested like weak points dmg, chill dmg & other maxed out mods i put on, the total dps barely break 480k. how is crits on tamer bad with this undeniable numbers im looking at.

The DPS shown on the weapon sheet is garbage and is not a true indicator of the actual DPS of the weapon. They need to fix it. Currently things like CRIT get a high value, but we all know that not all weapons scale with CRIT. Also things like Weakpoint DMG do not add anything to the DPS sheet, but gives a boost to actual damage. That being said, Tamer does scale well with CRIT DMG, just ignore CRIT rate on it👍
"THIS WEAPON MELT BOSSES" - Then never show using it for bossing. The rest of the clip also show the wrong and Un-level stuff, so basically you just make them up with 0 testing. With this bad content you lose a potential sub, also people please wake up and do not follow this unless you want to waste your time

Don’t focus on making the tamer a crit weapon cause is weapon crit is really low.
I was running the Eternal Willpower AR for a while, but have switched to the Phantom Pain(AR). It has a faster fire rate, faster reload and much less recoil than the EW. I think it's a much better weapon, but not available until around level 70ish.
The only time I used it is to level it for mastery exp, but I enjoyed using it more than other random guns.

The tamer does have high dps but it seems like to me, every time I bring it to a boss fight the game decides its not going to drop general rounds for the entire fight. So I put that thing away for good cause I end up using everything but that during a fight.

Does adding sockets and capacity to a weapon include ALL iterations of that weapon? Or just that one single tamer you used them on?
Energy activators count for all weapons, so it's safe to say it's for all of em.
I'm just now starting out, when do i worry about keeping weapons and paying attention to the rolls? I've just been breaking down everything besides highest dps per slot.
don't bother until you get to hard mode and have level 100 drops, you can get purple weapons easily or just bring up their level if you have one saved up. Also weapon substats will be roll lower, so don't to reroll anything until level 100. Just keep switching weapons and bring up their proficiency for mastery rank progress
@CHEA7CODE Once you get a Tamer machine gun you can keep that and level it up every 10 levels or so. That'll last you till end game.
But yeah, not realtor worth keeping much until you get to Hard mode. Which would be level 100 gear.
Really not until super end game. And even then since you can reroll anything you don’t really need to worry about anything except hard mode boss fights. I’ve been 100 for a while and since I’m still working towards Ult Descendants I’m just checking there is at least one purple or gold element, and if it can, also colossus damage, and then swap the elemental mod depending on which boss I’m fighting. I’ve only done the +mod space boost on one weapon due to only having a couple. Going for ‘the god roll’ is around when you start doing that.
Got into a mission with a rocket spammer. Worst thing ever as you can't see a thing. I just stood back and let him do everything. I wasn't alone, another player stood back with me. If you want to spam that launcher, keep it to the interception missions or play private. If you're on my team and start spamming that sh1t, I'll stand back and let you do it all.
I can't spam my rockets as much as I want I gotta revive all the damn bunnys that die 500 times....
@@benwisdom1582 My Bunny doesn't die. 470% HP, 322% def. And my Thunder Cage is at 470,000 dps on it's way to 536k if the video I saw is right. I actually keep reviving bunnies :)

You're in a grind game and mad someone is making it easier? You get the experience and drops regardless. And starting out those guys made it easier for people that were having a hard time.
@@brianjackson9791 no, they are not making it easier, they are making it annoying. And I can grind without them much faster. Haven't seen many of them around lately but when I see one, I leave. That include colossus fights. They are useless... I solo first 5 hardmode bosses so when I go public in those fights, it's to help others and I ain't helping a rocket spammer.
DPS doesn't count for crit and other stat modifiers. Just counting for Crit %, Perforator actually has better DPS than Tamer, and the Assassin's Edge does too. Hell even the normal Burning Hound has near the same DPS as Tamer before mods when accounting for Crit. Go nuts guys. I'm also sure there's a rare beam rifle that's gonna come outta the works for meta soon. They're multiplier is crazy
Please try the perforator if you see this, i'm MR 21 with 160h. It has a 2.7x weak point multiplier with a 20% base cc and 2x CD multi. PLEASE TRY FOR MULTI MILL SHOTS
To add to this, the Python is also worth the try, 2.4x weak point multi.

Gregs tac rifle for the extra explosives on esiemo,you shoot mines shoot gun boom explosion everywhere and i believe the guns explosives count as part of his passive.

Been using Vestal Organ until I got an ultimate one. (Actually the next thing you talk about.) (The reload is fine, you just drop the rounds, stow it, reload when running somewhere. Guess I’m used to that from Destiny.
There's another way to use Sigvore's Proof you don't mention. Since the rocket detonates when you let off aim, if you hold aim, fire at those stupid boss spheres, and can time it correctly, you can detonate it mid-air when it's over all the spheres. Sure, it's tricky, but it's a lot easier than trying to hold aim and be sure to fire right when it's targeting one. Or a lot of times you can aim for the boss head, as the explosive range will get the spheres.
Good luck trying to get an Ultimate weapon drop when searching for it. I've had the quest to do Divine Punishment since my first descendant was level 10. Every day since launch basically I've gone to where that missing part supposedly drops, run the thing 3-5 times, and not gotten a single drop of it. So, probably 20-30 tries to get the missing part drop and it's not dropped.
I like Tamer, but that move reduction really kills me. That and the reload is super long. I think once I hit 40 prof with it I'll only be using it for boss fights. (Until maybe I can boost it's mod capacity and have the spare room to negate the move penalty with some +move speed.)

Tamer has a very low base crit rate so you're better off using weak point damage than crit rate+crit damage mods
Hey boss noob question... does the AoE special ability on Thundercage proc off of skill kills i.e. Bunnys 3? I assume it does but kinda hard to tell when stuff is dying to AoE skills anyway... Thanks!

No the only character that it actually works with is Valby. The water bubble actually makes the Thunder cage hit harder.

I think fire attack means normal bullets damage.
For Tamer, you do not need Crit Rate or even Crit Damage. Tamer's Base Crit Rate is way too low to be worth getting Crit modules for it. If you got 10% crit rate on module, that only adds 1% to your final crit rate for tamer.
I do a bunch of colossus farming with my thunder cage, nearing 600k dps with weak point , crit dmg, crit rate and dmg against colossus being the play. Not sure you want fire attack on Thunder cage.. but to each their own
I've been using Tamer since I entered hardmode, but now that it's time commit by investing resources into one gun I'm thinking about choosing Thunder Cage as the main one.

Attack is the base damage it does. Increasing that X bullets = dps
This game places too much emphasis on raw stats over skill. The grind once you get to hard mode is just crazy. It's not hard to shoot the shoulder of a boss while dodging his attacks. The hardest part is getting all the mats to increase your weapon's dps.
The weapons are good choices but ignore the sub stats and mod options.

Thunder Cage is actually Valby's favorite. It doesn't do anything special for Bunny

Why is it?
I like thunder cage's raw stats especially if you add more crit with supply moisture but I find the legendary perk to be a bit redundant on Valby since she already has great AoE and zone control. Once I get more materials I would definitely like to invest into a more boss specific weapon.

If he's right on the inherent move speed bonus, then it does. She builds charge by distance traveled, so faster movement by default means more travel.

Lol. I dont think that people who play gley rocket are being sweaty. To me a sweat player is a try hard who takes things too serious and only wants to win most players like that have a bad attitude.
People are using gley this way because of youtubers who spread the word and also building gley like this is super cheap and the build is consistent, versatile because it works for AoE situations too and carries you through the content with little effort and investment. Definitely a more free to play build that is the real reason not because they are trying to be sweaty
GLey Rocket spam isn't sweaty, it's literally an expected build for her and makes total sense. You'd use a high fire rate purple ammo gun with mass damage if you too had unlimited ammo :)

Im using endering legacy with Every slot Catalyized Says 500k dps on the gun but we all know it isn't accurate. I wanted a gun that had Higher crit chance/mag size than tamer that didn't fall to far behind when it came to dmg per bullet and fire rate. It's special effect also increases my firearm attack dmg and reduces the enemies fire resistance so i dont have to swap guns/mods for different element resistances. I use blair with backfire to add 15% base crit chance which puts the weapon close to 50% critchance.
Yea this is an ongoing problem where people only assume top tier guns based on in game DPS numbers, which are A) already calculated incorrectly for raw damage, whatever formula they use in the UI gets more innacurate the smaller the mag size and longer cycle times. It favors guns exactly like Tamer and lies about most other weapons. And B) It /never/ includes other forms of damage like elementals, mods that provide bonus damage over time, etc.
As a result in the game DPS number tells you crit, crit damage, fire rate, large mag, is th eonly way to play.
Do not follow this guide he gives you 0 information to actually build a good DPS weapon most click bait thumb nail ever

Thé Thunder Cage is not only good on bunny on valby as wel put thé chill damage mod on there and when you use An abilety on valby with here passieve laundry it weakens thé enemy defens to shok and chill
Legendary weapons needs buff no point if farming them.
You cant have 2 elematal DMG in the weapon traits, most of those builds are just wrong specially the Thunder Cage
You also almost never want any elements in your sub-stats😂 that’s a waste of a stat unless you’re planning on very specific builds for bossing.

Bro when was this??? I understand this is a hot take but hear me out ok? Lstar, is the best LMG. And always has been. If used right you can use the reload feature very few times. It has high dps, and once you manage the recoil it’s an amazingly accurate weapon for long range. It out does the Rampage by being simple, and out does the spitfire with a higher fire rate and higher damage.

This is not true at all. Haven't paid one dime and I've fully enhanced my two main ultimate weapons (fallen hope and Greg's reverse fate) with the best mods and reactor and ultimate modules. Also, beat the game on hard and solo all the bosses (except hangman because the game won't let you). All the bosses are easier to solo, rather than with a group. It's not pay 2 win at all. If you're having trouble, it's just a skill issue.
If anyone is reading this, DO NOT follow this advice. The modding examples are straight up incorrect.

for the ppl saying we don't need crits on tamer, currently with crit rate + crit dmg maxed modules, the total dps is 570k. but without it, using other mods suggested like weak points dmg, chill dmg & other maxed out mods i put on, the total dps barely break 480k. how is crits on tamer bad with this undeniable numbers im looking at.

The DPS shown on the weapon sheet is garbage and is not a true indicator of the actual DPS of the weapon. They need to fix it. Currently things like CRIT get a high value, but we all know that not all weapons scale with CRIT. Also things like Weakpoint DMG do not add anything to the DPS sheet, but gives a boost to actual damage. That being said, Tamer does scale well with CRIT DMG, just ignore CRIT rate on it👍
