  • Stonewalling is a type of communication breakdown that can leave one feeling ignored, unimportant, or even dismissed altogether. Per research by the Gottman Institute, it’s also one of the leading predictors of relationship failure and divorce. While it’s a common relationship problem, it’s important to be aware of its impact in order to address it immediately.
In this episode, Pye & Dr. Glen dive into the different types of stonewalling, how it affects a relationship, and how you can stop it if you find yourself stonewalling or being stonewalled.

I really do agree that a lot of people stonewall each other because they never really get down to the root of the problem and there is a lot a lot of underlying resentment in both parties in my opinion and they never actually address it so you are correct. I think both people are stonewalling each other even though one person thinks the other person is stonewalling. They’re actually doing it in a much passive way, but that doesn’t mean they’re not stonewalling because I think they are, in my opinion

I was searching in RUclips for meaningful and useful information re: Marriage or Couples Resentment. These 2 men were excellent. They spoke in a practical way that made it understandable. I clicked on some other videos and found the same to be true there. I’ll almost certainly be interested in viewing all their work. Probably from the beginning. Thanks fellas.

I loved this topic but don’t feel I totally understand it. I would love if you would say more. I think I tend to stonewall from a point of overwhelm and not understanding my own feelings. Also not wanting to say the wrong thing…fear. I’m working on it.
