Another absolutely clutch guide! You got me the plat in the base game, and now the dlc. Some added tips for others struggling: Learn how brumal form works. I basically just mashed it with a direction when being attacked and it will dodge multiple attacks. When the second boss uses luminous falcion attack it's super important just keep dodging. It's also really important to try and stay somewhat close to the second boss. If you stay far all the time he will keep doing the same spells. For the last battle during the beam attack I mashed brumal a couple times while running and then you can start attacking while standing in the beam when it looks like it would still hurt you. Jame pinned another guide at the top and he uses slightly different materia setup. That is what worked for me. The hp on yuffie came in clutch. On the last battle only synergize sonon to dodge attacks. Then let him go. If you keep him attached he will get destroyed. Also I found unlocking my cursor from the boss helpful to dodge the fire. It's hard to see what's coming when you're locked on. It took me like 5 hours one night staying up till 2am cursing at the TV, and still didn't get it. Came back the next day determined and got it on the 3rd or 4th try. It's all about memorization, timing, and patience. Good luck y'all!
Another great video. I also had trouble with the Bahamut not going down in the beginning, but it's because I was pausing/starting all the time while following the steps. Once I memorized them (2 Thundagas from Yuffie, with 2 Thundagas from Sonon, then 2 Thunders from Yuffie and then attack with Yuffie. It worked every time. The dragon won't go down until you actually hit him with physical attack from Yuffie, that was the key. Also later on when you double team on him in stagger mode, make sure you are not doing magic attacks, but physical instead (boomerang needs to be retrieved - it should say 'Throw' in bottom left, and not 'Retrieve'). The biggest problem I had was with the final boss. Those one shot beams kept killing me. I got tired of retrying, and cheesed through it, by simply watching the boss at all times, and the moment I saw that attack name, I would enter Tactics mode, and then simply wait a minute or two for the balls of light to start coming my way from his arms. Then simply issue the Teleport command once. The nice thing is, if you do that, you can immediately cast Thundage or anything else you want afterwards, without fear of getting interrupted, since the boss is busy shooting his beam for a few seconds.
It's a tough one for sure, well played. But you know, once you've cleared it it's actually kind of addictive, I find myself going back to clear this challenge and also Top Secrets from the main game every now and then 🫢

thank you so much. It took me hours to internalize the moves, but once you get the hang of it,, every boss becomes easier over time. but finally I did it. Materia wasn't quite at max for me, but it worked. The last boss was also a bit lucky. Ramuh almost killed him. Yuffi's limit then did the rest. Now. Story on Heavy finisht and Weis kill
Why is he never activate his aura when he is pressured? If I start attacking him with synchronized attacks, while he is pressured, he activates his aura and Yuffie and Soron are pushed back. So I can't even get close to 80% pressure.
Thanks so much for this! Took me a bit to actually memorize how to get Bahamut in that pressure state but when I did the fight went from frustrating to kinda fun. I honestly think Ramuh is the toughest one of the three because of how quickly things can go bad there, but brumal form is key. Once you can predict enemy moves with it things make more sense. I learned stuff here that's useful in other fights too!!
Thanks for this guide. After half an hour of practice, I managed to get good at Bahamut that he became really easy. The next challenge was Ramuh which I often got stun lock. Been stuck there for more than an hour. I wasn't able to utilize brutal form with him since he's not easy to dodge compare to Bahamut mainly because I get distracted by the lightning particle effects. I find that blocking works for me here and I can even get a perfect block at times. When I got to the damn robot, there's another learning curve. It's not easy to restart from him since I have to beat the other two again. Luckily, got better at dealing with Ramuh after dying a lot. Finally beating him without even staggering him. It was a clutch for sure. But I had fun. Again, thank you! I tried other guides but this one works for me. Subscribed. :)
Thanks so much for this. Took some tries but I got Bahamut down to a science. Pride and Joy was still a pain. The stupid missile attack kept getting me over and over. Managed it in the end though.
Thanks so much for this guide. The bahamut bit was causing me trouble to begin with because he’d do the move where he glows and then he wouldn’t drop when pressured. Once I got used to it I was much faster and could do it every time. Ramuh was the hardest for me as he would destroy me if he used Luminous Falchion. I hadn’t used Brumul Form much so found that hard to learn on such a hard boss but the experience from Bahamut helped. If I didn’t have enough ATB I’d block and it worked well if it was perfect. Eventually got it down and could beat him 50 % of the time. P and J was a struggle to begin with. He was so easy with Cloud so I went in with the wrong expectations. Your tips for beam cannon worked well. But I’d often die on the bombs so I swapped ATB Boost out for revive and that gave me just enough room for error to beat him. I didn’t stagger him but all the thundagas killed him off. Took me maybe 2 hours and 20,000 gil but I’m finally done. Thanks again. You’ve earned a subscriber
Man, that fucking beam cannon gets me every time. Edit: I beat it after 17 runs and on 1 health with Sonon down, thanks to reprieve. On the bright side, I can quickly clear the first two after all that practice.
Damn, i think this one bugged for me. I had Sonon die to Pride and Joy way on the other side of the map from me and like, Pride and Joy just de-aggrored and stood facing Sonon's dead body 😂 never came back to attack Yuffie. I stayed on the other side of the map and spent like a good minute or two just spamming the lightning ninjustu square attack chipping away at it's health slowly til it died. Your bahamut guide was perfect thou! Super easy to repeat
To be honest once you get used to Laser Beam timing it's actually easier when he uses it. You gain ATB back for dodging and you feed Sonon ATB with ATB assist.

Wheewwww.. finally beat Bahamut with ur guide. Off to do Ramuh now.. (praying to god I don't fail and have to do Bahamut again) 🤣🤣🤣 Edit: Just beat Ramuh.. im soo nervous now 🤣🤣 Edit: Got beat by P&J and had to do it again. Getting past Bahamut is a breeze now with ur strat. Ramuh is so unpredictable if i can get past him and learn how to stay calm under pressure and not force it i think i can beat him.
Holy shit thank you so much for this guide, took me a few hours to get the hang of it (bahamut becomes easy after beating him several times) but after having luck with ramuhs moves he used on me, p&j was just too easy. Now on to weiss 💪🏻
Nice guide. I saw some comments saying that this method might have been patched out, but it definitely still worked for me as of today (Jan 2024). It does take a few runs to really understand, but I am at a point where I can clear bahamut and ramuh reliably and exactly as shown. Didn’t even have fully maxed out mp/magic up’s or fully upgraded weapons. Pride and joy was rough though. Could not figure out dodge timing for his stupid laser lol, but I eventually got a messy clear hah. Maybe I’ll revisit for fun at some point
Everything worked fine, also the Bahamut stagger without him summoning Ifrit, however once I battle Pride and Joy there are these fire patches on the ground which cause damage while running around. It seems not the case for your video. What did I do wrong?
To say this Bahamut strategy is supposed to work every time, guaranteed, it sure hasn't come close for me yet... - Every so often (like every 10th attempt or so), Brunal dodges at the start just don't go off in time - Sometimes he knocks Yuffie or Sonon out of their Thundaga charge times with either that quick roll dash attack or even worse Flame Breath - ATB Assist *does not* trigger on Yuffie's second Thundaga meaning sometimes Sonon just does not have enough ATB for the fourth Thundaga (you can even see in this video that Sonon's ATB doesn't increase at all from it...) - Bahamut only sometimes drops and gets pressured... after the double Thunder and if it doesn't happen then it doesn't happen at all - By the time you manually use Retrieve, its already long since returned to Yuffie (how did you extend that so far? It's back for me around Thundaga #3...) - I can get him almost Staggered but after he gets up he just goes "lolno fuck this" and summons Ifrit anyway who waltzes over and oneshots Yuffie from offscreen etc etc
You seem to be having lag issues, because the problems you're mentioning I've only experienced when I did this challenge on shareplay for other people with very bad connexion. Are you doing this challenge on remote play or something? In any case, I've reproduced this very strategy over a hundred times without fail, so either you're lagging, or you're being a little too slow to execute the moves. Also, check my pinned comment, there's additional tips for the challenge. For example, do 2x Thundara instead of 2x Thunder to make sure you Pressure Bahamut before countdown. Anyways, good luck and tell me how it goes. Keep in mind this strategy requires practice to be mastered, and then it becomes very reliable.

Hi James, just wanted to share with you I recently discovered an exploit/glitch against Pride and Joy MK0.5, but it is SERIOUSLY BASED on luck to the point that I don't believe it can be copied or replicated that easily. In short, I had Sonon use Fighting Spirit vs P&J so he was focused only on him, while I was attacking from a distance with Yuffie. However, when Sonon died P&J kept staring at him and didn't move toward Yuffie. I eventually killed P&J after staggering him with Yuffie's Bloodbath that happened to get a few seconds before he was staggered. I kept attacking from behind without moving because I believed if I came in front of P&J with Yuffie I would have triggered the AI to start attacking me again
I got the trophy but here is the thing, it all fell apart for me with Pride and Joy where I simply ran out of MP. It didn't help that Sonon got hit by the beam twice. I summoned Ramuh and when Yuffie died and Sonon sacrificed himself, he used Judgement Bolt. I had just got back exactly 17 MP and used Thundaga and it killed him and the trophy popped but at the exact same time, one of his missiles killed Yuffie. So it came up as a failure but I have the trophy and I already finished everything else except Weiss so thanks for the guide :)
Not sure if it was mentioned already, but might be worth mentioning in your description that you need to make sure you have learned Banishment and Swirling Storm from their respective weapons first so you don’t get caught in that part of the guide and realize you don’t have either of those attacks like I did lol
@@JamesGuides no problem. Once I had boomerang and the second Sonon staff I never bothered to use any of their other weapons, so I was missing the skills learned from mastering them. Figured I couldn’t have been the only one. Great guide though! I think I’ve got Bahamut down pretty well, just need to get better at finding the openings on Ramuh.
Finishing up trophies before playing rebirth and just wanna say its total bullshit that bahamut is the hardest of the three fights lol using your strategy bahamut is easily the most consistent. Ramuh and PJ are so inconsistent in their attack patterns and caused me the most trouble. Dealing with PJ spamming rockets and sonon never having ATB to interrupt them was an actual nightmare. That being said I literally would never have finished these fights without your guide so thank you
Great guide! While I couldn't do it the same way I did apply everything and worked fine. I screwed up in the end against Pride and Joy but Ramuh bailed me out.

great video again - good explained^^ but somethin is off for me - bahamut never fell down and when i play some more and he fell down, then the boomerang retrieve stops alltime halfway to him sometimes i finish him, but its more like continue the attacks now ill must check, how i can safely get ramuh done, lol - ill try some more now ;o e: robot now..^^

@@JamesGuides finaly did it now.., lol this robot again.. - i jus run arround with yuffie and then he died from throwed boomerang, rofl when he staggered, i was far away and didnt also not know what to do :} but this dodge the beam was nice^^ the thing is, you cant really pratice him so often, like bahamut - bahamut i had it goin at the end thanks again^^ ill go now with yuffie through hard mode and then weiss and cloud part on hard mode ;o

That's not the right "Pressure" you got then. What you need is to Pressure him through high damage in a short time window. That-'s how you get the long duration pressure where he falls down. So that means you're probably lacking DPS: Check Yuffie and Sonon's ATK / Magic Attack stats, if they aren't the same as mine you'll have to fix that. Check your weapon upgrades. Make sure you've got all the Manuscripts (complete chapter 1 in Hard Mode, all the Fort Condor missions in Hard mode too). My Yuffie's stats: Attack: 252 Magic Attack: 325 Check your Boomerang's upgrade so you end up with: Attack: 70 Magic Attack: 97 My Sonon's stats: Attack: 305 Magic Attack: 253 Check your Marshalist's Staff upgrades so you end up with: Attack: 105 Magic Attack: 89 Also, do 2x Thundara instead of 2x Thunder.I'm aware I've written Thunder instead of Thundara in the screenshot, but it's THUNDARA 2X you should do if you want to make sure to put Bahamut in a deep pressure state. Having the hardest time with this. I can get him pressured with this guide but he never falls down. He just stands there for a bit and then explodes making my square mash attack stop.

my stats are as follows Yuffie Attack: 352 Magic attack: 325 Sonon Attack: 305 Magic attack: 255 My equipment is identical to yours as well. I managed to beat him last night but I had to do 2 full rounds of your strategy to get him to fully stagger. He never dropped down completely. @@JamesGuides

@@keithhealy3931 Ok, in that case, remember you can pause the game at any moment to think about your next move. When in doubt, hit the Touchpad and it completely pauses the game, or hit Pause, and you can think about your next moves. Or just use tactical mode, which is not truly a pause button, but it's pretty close. I actually do this when I'm recording the video for the guide. I enter Tactical Mode and wait about 10 seconds before each move sequence.
You have to Synergize and start mashing sooner. Press L2 right after Triangle (Retrieve) and start mashing square immediately. That way they will start that double divebomb animation sooner
The ONLY thing Pride and Joy uses is Beam Cannon, I would love to luck out and get a run where it doesn't ever cast it. Been at it for hours, but one of these attempts is gonna be the one! Edit: And it was the very next attempt 😅 Thank you! Would've taken me aaaall day without this incredible guide.
Is aero+elemental absolutely vital. I tried to do fire+elemental for the healing in p&j but now I’m struggling with bahamut and getting enough damage on him when staggered
It does help to make 100% sure you pressure Bahamut. And it helps a lot to take out Ramuh in 3 Synergized Windstorms. You can prevent P&J to launch its missiles, use 2x Brumal Form quickly with Yuffie to feed ATB to Sonon via ATB Assist, then Sonon can cast Thundaga a lot more and it will prevent P&J from layering the area with fire ^^ And of course, while Sonon is casting Thundaga, do ranged attack with Yuffie as much as possible.

Awesome guide, thanks for the trophy! My only advice is giving a heads up that ramuh can use judgement bolt to one shot you, he used it literally every time i tried it and my answer to it was swapping the ramuh summon with carbuncle, so when i died by judgement bolt, carbuncle would rez me and i’d be able to limit break
They were all maxed out but if you must choose : always prioritize Magic Attack Power Attack Power +MP Attack Damage And you need 6 materia slots of course
I was on pride and joy while sonon was captured, and yuffie got unavoidably stunned and was stuck in the fire blast aoe and died. It seriously might be the most unfair death I've ever experienced in my life. Most of P&J's hp was gone too. This game is such bullshit Edit: I finally did it, this guide saved my life, thanks so much 👍

Bahamut part - great. The other two - there are by far much better guides. "Run around and time your attacks well" is not a strategy. It's a general advise. Other people make step-by-step guides for those bosses that are much easier to follow - like your bahamut part.
The Ramuh fight is very random, giving a step by step guide for it would be misleading. If you want a breakdown of all abilities and how to deal with them, I already made such a guide in my 100% Walkthrough, so there was no need to do it again here in my opinion. As for Pride and Joy Prototype Mk 0.5, I disagree, I gave very detailed information on how to do the opening sequence, how to pressure it, and how to deal with each ability. If you found a better guide for it elsewhere that's fine, but I disagree with you., my strategy for P&J is very detailed.
@@JamesGuides it's not too random. For example his first ability is always levin bolts, so there is a strat to always dodge them. After that he can only do one of two things - 1) teleport away and cast whisps, in which case go and use windstorm again 2) use lightning bolt or use melee on you, and then teleport and whisps. So there is basically only 2 things that you need to be ready for - dodge 1 ability or go in and windstorm, which greatly reduces the hectic factor. After whisps he will always use 1 ability that you need to dodge, and then 9/10 he uses the big ability, so windstorm. He is very easy with proper explanation, and yours is just "look for opportunities" which doesn't help. As for Pride and Joy - he can be completely stunlocked like Bahamut. But if you don't wanna do that you can just run around the arena and master dodging beam - and he can never get you, because his ranged attack always misses if you move. Just spam your oen ranged charged with lightning ninjitsu, and start running when he raises his arm. Cast Thundaga with sonon on CD. Cast your own Thundaga after his beam attack. It will take 5 minutes but the only thing that can hurt you is the beam. For the beam - wait 2 seconds and cast brumal form twice. If you see the beam and you are not dead - you dodged it. The animation is long, but the damage only goes once at the start, so just stay in the beam and attack.
I can't do a shit against him no matter how many times i try it doesnt get on his knees. I do thundagas/thunders or even thundaras and he doesnt get down on his knees. Im a total noob :P
@@JamesGuides Im sure i have the same set up as you. I managed to knock him down full stagged after i posted you but i didn't do much of damage because sonnon died by Ifrit
Also i can't master aerial attack... I noticed people stayed on air while attacking but i can't do that as much as others can. I suck becausei i have to press a lot of buttons :P
Ah well, it's a matter of preferences. For me it's one of the best challenges ever designed. I like the other Top Secrets fight a little more though from FF7 Remake. Anyways, glad you got through it ;-)

Still works fine, did it a week ago for a friend via Share Play. You must not have the proper gear setup if your DPS isn't high enough he wont be pressured
I wouldn't have made the comment if I didn't have the "proper" setup. I tried several times and he never fell from the sky while pressured. I even saw your update about using thundara instead of thunder, which shouldn't have mattered since in the video you are able to pressure him with thunder. Just weird. In any case, I was able to do it eventually with my own spin on this base guide, just wasn't how this video plays out, that's all. Still thanks, you put a lot of work into it.
@@joshua4859 to assume I didn't master it is a stretch. Though I shouldn't take much stock in a comment that starts with bruh. Bahamut just doesn't fall as indicated in the video. He needs to be doing a specific attack that isn't mentioned when the stagger hit lands, or he won't fall. I simply was bringing attention to it to help the content of an otherwise decent video. is there anyone who can do this fight for me via shareplay & pause it when the killing blow is q'd up so it can be paused & I take back over ? - I am still struggling with this & pulling my hair out this fight is no fun anymore I just want it over with anyone willing & confident ? BAHAMUT: If you're having trouble getting the first PRESSURE at STEP6, replace the 2x Thunder by 2x Thundara and you'll get the pressure for sure!
Also, you need to have learned the following weapon abilities:
Banishment
Swirling Storm
PRIDE & JOY PROTOTYPE MK 0.5: You can feed ATB to Sonon by using 2x Brumal Form quickly to trigger ATB Assist. More ATB on Sonon means more Thundagas and more interruption of the rocket launcher spam!

Another absolutely clutch guide! You got me the plat in the base game, and now the dlc.
Some added tips for others struggling:
Learn how brumal form works. I basically just mashed it with a direction when being attacked and it will dodge multiple attacks. When the second boss uses luminous falcion attack it's super important just keep dodging. It's also really important to try and stay somewhat close to the second boss. If you stay far all the time he will keep doing the same spells. For the last battle during the beam attack I mashed brumal a couple times while running and then you can start attacking while standing in the beam when it looks like it would still hurt you.
Jame pinned another guide at the top and he uses slightly different materia setup. That is what worked for me. The hp on yuffie came in clutch.
On the last battle only synergize sonon to dodge attacks. Then let him go. If you keep him attached he will get destroyed.
Also I found unlocking my cursor from the boss helpful to dodge the fire. It's hard to see what's coming when you're locked on.
It took me like 5 hours one night staying up till 2am cursing at the TV, and still didn't get it. Came back the next day determined and got it on the 3rd or 4th try. It's all about memorization, timing, and patience. Good luck y'all!

Another great video. I also had trouble with the Bahamut not going down in the beginning, but it's because I was pausing/starting all the time while following the steps. Once I memorized them (2 Thundagas from Yuffie, with 2 Thundagas from Sonon, then 2 Thunders from Yuffie and then attack with Yuffie. It worked every time. The dragon won't go down until you actually hit him with physical attack from Yuffie, that was the key. Also later on when you double team on him in stagger mode, make sure you are not doing magic attacks, but physical instead (boomerang needs to be retrieved - it should say 'Throw' in bottom left, and not 'Retrieve').
The biggest problem I had was with the final boss. Those one shot beams kept killing me. I got tired of retrying, and cheesed through it, by simply watching the boss at all times, and the moment I saw that attack name, I would enter Tactics mode, and then simply wait a minute or two for the balls of light to start coming my way from his arms. Then simply issue the Teleport command once. The nice thing is, if you do that, you can immediately cast Thundage or anything else you want afterwards, without fear of getting interrupted, since the boss is busy shooting his beam for a few seconds.

It's a tough one for sure, well played. But you know, once you've cleared it it's actually kind of addictive, I find myself going back to clear this challenge and also Top Secrets from the main game every now and then 🫢

It took me hours to internalize the moves, but once you get the hang of it,, every boss becomes easier over time. but finally I did it. Materia wasn't quite at max for me, but it worked. The last boss was also a bit lucky. Ramuh almost killed him. Yuffi's limit then did the rest.

Why is he never activate his aura when he is pressured? If I start attacking him with synchronized attacks, while he is pressured, he activates his aura and Yuffie and Soron are pushed back. So I can't even get close to 80% pressure.
Thanks so much for this! Took me a bit to actually memorize how to get Bahamut in that pressure state but when I did the fight went from frustrating to kinda fun. I honestly think Ramuh is the toughest one of the three because of how quickly things can go bad there, but brumal form is key. Once you can predict enemy moves with it things make more sense. I learned stuff here that's useful in other fights too!!

Thanks for this guide. After half an hour of practice, I managed to get good at Bahamut that he became really easy. The next challenge was Ramuh which I often got stun lock. Been stuck there for more than an hour. I wasn't able to utilize brutal form with him since he's not easy to dodge compare to Bahamut mainly because I get distracted by the lightning particle effects. I find that blocking works for me here and I can even get a perfect block at times.
When I got to the damn robot, there's another learning curve. It's not easy to restart from him since I have to beat the other two again. Luckily, got better at dealing with Ramuh after dying a lot. Finally beating him without even staggering him. It was a clutch for sure. But I had fun.

The bahamut bit was causing me trouble to begin with because he’d do the move where he glows and then he wouldn’t drop when pressured. Once I got used to it I was much faster and could do it every time.
Ramuh was the hardest for me as he would destroy me if he used Luminous Falchion. I hadn’t used Brumul Form much so found that hard to learn on such a hard boss but the experience from Bahamut helped. If I didn’t have enough ATB I’d block and it worked well if it was perfect. Eventually got it down and could beat him 50 % of the time.
P and J was a struggle to begin with. He was so easy with Cloud so I went in with the wrong expectations. Your tips for beam cannon worked well. But I’d often die on the bombs so I swapped ATB Boost out for revive and that gave me just enough room for error to beat him. I didn’t stagger him but all the thundagas killed him off.
Took me maybe 2 hours and 20,000 gil but I’m finally done. Thanks again. You’ve earned a subscriber

Man, that fucking beam cannon gets me every time. Edit: I beat it after 17 runs and on 1 health with Sonon down, thanks to reprieve. On the bright side, I can quickly clear the first two after all that practice.
Practice does make it perfect, it's the beauty of this strategy. At some point you can do it all with your eyes closed haha
Damn, i think this one bugged for me. I had Sonon die to Pride and Joy way on the other side of the map from me and like, Pride and Joy just de-aggrored and stood facing Sonon's dead body 😂 never came back to attack Yuffie. I stayed on the other side of the map and spent like a good minute or two just spamming the lightning ninjustu square attack chipping away at it's health slowly til it died. Your bahamut guide was perfect thou! Super easy to repeat

You are so lucky, everytime on pride & joy i die on laser beam, 2 or 3 on attempt, and you got a run with none.
To be honest once you get used to Laser Beam timing it's actually easier when he uses it. You gain ATB back for dodging and you feed Sonon ATB with ATB assist.

Edit: Got beat by P&J and had to do it again. Getting past Bahamut is a breeze now with ur strat. Ramuh is so unpredictable if i can get past him and learn how to stay calm under pressure and not force it i think i can beat him.
Holy shit thank you so much for this guide, took me a few hours to get the hang of it (bahamut becomes easy after beating him several times) but after having luck with ramuhs moves he used on me, p&j was just too easy. Now on to weiss 💪🏻
Nice guide. I saw some comments saying that this method might have been patched out, but it definitely still worked for me as of today (Jan 2024).
It does take a few runs to really understand, but I am at a point where I can clear bahamut and ramuh reliably and exactly as shown. Didn’t even have fully maxed out mp/magic up’s or fully upgraded weapons.
Pride and joy was rough though. Could not figure out dodge timing for his stupid laser lol, but I eventually got a messy clear hah. Maybe I’ll revisit for fun at some point
Laser timing is a little tricky yes, but you do get used to it ;-)
And yes, this method still works 100%.

Everything worked fine, also the Bahamut stagger without him summoning Ifrit, however once I battle Pride and Joy there are these fire patches on the ground which cause damage while running around. It seems not the case for your video. What did I do wrong?

To say this Bahamut strategy is supposed to work every time, guaranteed, it sure hasn't come close for me yet...
- Every so often (like every 10th attempt or so), Brunal dodges at the start just don't go off in time
- Sometimes he knocks Yuffie or Sonon out of their Thundaga charge times with either that quick roll dash attack or even worse Flame Breath
- ATB Assist *does not* trigger on Yuffie's second Thundaga meaning sometimes Sonon just does not have enough ATB for the fourth Thundaga (you can even see in this video that Sonon's ATB doesn't increase at all from it...)
- Bahamut only sometimes drops and gets pressured... after the double Thunder and if it doesn't happen then it doesn't happen at all
- By the time you manually use Retrieve, its already long since returned to Yuffie (how did you extend that so far? It's back for me around Thundaga #3...)
- I can get him almost Staggered but after he gets up he just goes "lolno fuck this" and summons Ifrit anyway who waltzes over and oneshots Yuffie from offscreen
etc etc
You seem to be having lag issues, because the problems you're mentioning I've only experienced when I did this challenge on shareplay for other people with very bad connexion. Are you doing this challenge on remote play or something?
In any case, I've reproduced this very strategy over a hundred times without fail, so either you're lagging, or you're being a little too slow to execute the moves.
Also, check my pinned comment, there's additional tips for the challenge. For example, do 2x Thundara instead of 2x Thunder to make sure you Pressure Bahamut before countdown. Anyways, good luck and tell me how it goes. Keep in mind this strategy requires practice to be mastered, and then it becomes very reliable.

Hi James, just wanted to share with you I recently discovered an exploit/glitch against Pride and Joy MK0.5, but it is SERIOUSLY BASED on luck to the point that I don't believe it can be copied or replicated that easily.
In short, I had Sonon use Fighting Spirit vs P&J so he was focused only on him, while I was attacking from a distance with Yuffie. However, when Sonon died P&J kept staring at him and didn't move toward Yuffie. I eventually killed P&J after staggering him with Yuffie's Bloodbath that happened to get a few seconds before he was staggered.
I kept attacking from behind without moving because I believed if I came in front of P&J with Yuffie I would have triggered the AI to start attacking me again

I got the trophy but here is the thing, it all fell apart for me with Pride and Joy where I simply ran out of MP. It didn't help that Sonon got hit by the beam twice.
I summoned Ramuh and when Yuffie died and Sonon sacrificed himself, he used Judgement Bolt. I had just got back exactly 17 MP and used Thundaga and it killed him and the trophy popped but at the exact same time, one of his missiles killed Yuffie.
So it came up as a failure but I have the trophy and I already finished everything else except Weiss so thanks for the guide :)

Not sure if it was mentioned already, but might be worth mentioning in your description that you need to make sure you have learned Banishment and Swirling Storm from their respective weapons first so you don’t get caught in that part of the guide and realize you don’t have either of those attacks like I did lol

@@JamesGuides no problem. Once I had boomerang and the second Sonon staff I never bothered to use any of their other weapons, so I was missing the skills learned from mastering them. Figured I couldn’t have been the only one. Great guide though! I think I’ve got Bahamut down pretty well, just need to get better at finding the openings on Ramuh.
@@RapidCancel Yeah Bahamut is pretty much a guaranteed no damage kill once you got the strategy down! Ramuh is just random ;-)
Finishing up trophies before playing rebirth and just wanna say its total bullshit that bahamut is the hardest of the three fights lol using your strategy bahamut is easily the most consistent. Ramuh and PJ are so inconsistent in their attack patterns and caused me the most trouble. Dealing with PJ spamming rockets and sonon never having ATB to interrupt them was an actual nightmare. That being said I literally would never have finished these fights without your guide so thank you

Sonon's ATB does not seem to charge as fast for me. Sometimes it fills up, sometimes it doesn't. Its not being consistent.
Could be ATB Assist not triggering properly ? Try to use the same abilities in quicker succession. Like the 2x Thundagas in a row for example
So far everything works until I get to step 6. He doesn’t fall down and then he starts the count down. What am I doing wrong?

No matter what I do Bahamut doesn't go to the ground when pressured, stays floating and can't get anywhere near that pressure gauge.
That's not the right "Pressure" you got then.
What you need is to Pressure him through high damage in a short time window. That-'s how you get the long duration pressure where he falls down.
So that means you're probably lacking DPS:
Check Yuffie and Sonon's ATK / Magic Attack stats, if they aren't the same as mine you'll have to fix that. Check your weapon upgrades. Make sure you've got all the Manuscripts (complete chapter 1 in Hard Mode, all the Fort Condor missions in Hard mode too).
My Yuffie's stats:
Attack: 252
Magic Attack: 325
Check your Boomerang's upgrade so you end up with:
Attack: 70
Magic Attack: 97
My Sonon's stats:
Attack: 305
Magic Attack: 253
Check your Marshalist's Staff upgrades so you end up with:
Attack: 105
Magic Attack: 89
Also, do 2x Thundara instead of 2x Thunder.I'm aware I've written Thunder instead of Thundara in the screenshot, but it's THUNDARA 2X you should do if you want to make sure to put Bahamut in a deep pressure state.

Having the hardest time with this. I can get him pressured with this guide but he never falls down. He just stands there for a bit and then explodes making my square mash attack stop.

My equipment is identical to yours as well. I managed to beat him last night but I had to do 2 full rounds of your strategy to get him to fully stagger. He never dropped down completely. @@JamesGuides

It's impossible to memorize this order of attacks for Bahamut fight, and stopping the fight to read it's not productive also

@@keithhealy3931 Ok, in that case, remember you can pause the game at any moment to think about your next move. When in doubt, hit the Touchpad and it completely pauses the game, or hit Pause, and you can think about your next moves. Or just use tactical mode, which is not truly a pause button, but it's pretty close.
I actually do this when I'm recording the video for the guide. I enter Tactical Mode and wait about 10 seconds before each move sequence.

is this strat need weapon level 6 will full upgrade to pressure bahamut to the ground, because i can't with my weapon only lvl 5.
How on Earth do you get the stagger bar so high in Step 7? I keep mashing square as much as possible and I can't get it anywhere near that high.
You have to Synergize and start mashing sooner.
Press L2 right after Triangle (Retrieve) and start mashing square immediately. That way they will start that double divebomb animation sooner
You have to pressure him before Umbral Aura, or else stager bar will not go that highel
The ONLY thing Pride and Joy uses is Beam Cannon, I would love to luck out and get a run where it doesn't ever cast it. Been at it for hours, but one of these attempts is gonna be the one! Edit: And it was the very next attempt 😅 Thank you! Would've taken me aaaall day without this incredible guide.
Well done mate! Beam cannon isn't that bad once you've figured out the tming to Dodge it with Brumal Form 😉

Is aero+elemental absolutely vital.
I tried to do fire+elemental for the healing in p&j but now I’m struggling with bahamut and getting enough damage on him when staggered
It does help to make 100% sure you pressure Bahamut.
And it helps a lot to take out Ramuh in 3 Synergized Windstorms.
You can prevent P&J to launch its missiles, use 2x Brumal Form quickly with Yuffie to feed ATB to Sonon via ATB Assist, then Sonon can cast Thundaga a lot more and it will prevent P&J from layering the area with fire ^^
And of course, while Sonon is casting Thundaga, do ranged attack with Yuffie as much as possible.
@@JamesGuides did it this morning. Basically just ran around until he did big beam. Dodged and then thundaga followed by ninjutsu.

My only advice is giving a heads up that ramuh can use judgement bolt to one shot you, he used it literally every time i tried it and my answer to it was swapping the ramuh summon with carbuncle, so when i died by judgement bolt, carbuncle would rez me and i’d be able to limit break
Nice tip! Judgment Bolt is timer based. He only uses it if the fight drags on 😉

I was on pride and joy while sonon was captured, and yuffie got unavoidably stunned and was stuck in the fire blast aoe and died. It seriously might be the most unfair death I've ever experienced in my life. Most of P&J's hp was gone too. This game is such bullshit

I've tried to do before hard mode playtrough. Just don't do this. Manuscripts for maximize weapon powers are a "must have" thing.
They are, the extra attack power is needed.

The other two - there are by far much better guides.
"Run around and time your attacks well" is not a strategy. It's a general advise. Other people make step-by-step guides for those bosses that are much easier to follow - like your bahamut part.
The Ramuh fight is very random, giving a step by step guide for it would be misleading. If you want a breakdown of all abilities and how to deal with them, I already made such a guide in my 100% Walkthrough, so there was no need to do it again here in my opinion.
As for Pride and Joy Prototype Mk 0.5, I disagree, I gave very detailed information on how to do the opening sequence, how to pressure it, and how to deal with each ability. If you found a better guide for it elsewhere that's fine, but I disagree with you., my strategy for P&J is very detailed.
@@JamesGuides it's not too random.
For example his first ability is always levin bolts, so there is a strat to always dodge them. After that he can only do one of two things - 1) teleport away and cast whisps, in which case go and use windstorm again
2) use lightning bolt or use melee on you, and then teleport and whisps.
So there is basically only 2 things that you need to be ready for - dodge 1 ability or go in and windstorm, which greatly reduces the hectic factor.
After whisps he will always use 1 ability that you need to dodge, and then 9/10 he uses the big ability, so windstorm.
He is very easy with proper explanation, and yours is just "look for opportunities" which doesn't help.
As for Pride and Joy - he can be completely stunlocked like Bahamut. But if you don't wanna do that you can just run around the arena and master dodging beam - and he can never get you, because his ranged attack always misses if you move. Just spam your oen ranged charged with lightning ninjitsu, and start running when he raises his arm. Cast Thundaga with sonon on CD. Cast your own Thundaga after his beam attack.
It will take 5 minutes but the only thing that can hurt you is the beam.
For the beam - wait 2 seconds and cast brumal form twice. If you see the beam and you are not dead - you dodged it. The animation is long, but the damage only goes once at the start, so just stay in the beam and attack.
I can't do a shit against him no matter how many times i try it doesnt get on his knees. I do thundagas/thunders or even thundaras and he doesnt get down on his knees. Im a total noob :P
Are you sure you have the same setup as me? If he doesn't get Pressured it just means you're not doing rhe required damage quickly enough

Also i can't master aerial attack... I noticed people stayed on air while attacking but i can't do that as much as others can. I suck becausei i have to press a lot of buttons :P
I'll be very blunt. This was not fun. This trophy achievement was not fun at all.
Ah well, it's a matter of preferences. For me it's one of the best challenges ever designed. I like the other Top Secrets fight a little more though from FF7 Remake. Anyways, glad you got through it ;-)

If it worked a year ago, that's good. It sure does not work now though, sadly. Bahamut doesn't drop from the sky when pressured like he does here. Thanks for the effort though, I'll have to make my own strategy work using this as a base, it's a decent base, so thanks for that

You must not have the proper gear setup if your DPS isn't high enough he wont be pressured
I wouldn't have made the comment if I didn't have the "proper" setup. I tried several times and he never fell from the sky while pressured. I even saw your update about using thundara instead of thunder, which shouldn't have mattered since in the video you are able to pressure him with thunder. Just weird. In any case, I was able to do it eventually with my own spin on this base guide, just wasn't how this video plays out, that's all. Still thanks, you put a lot of work into it.
Bruh it took me like 30 tries but this method works. You just have to master it.
@@joshua4859 to assume I didn't master it is a stretch. Though I shouldn't take much stock in a comment that starts with bruh. Bahamut just doesn't fall as indicated in the video. He needs to be doing a specific attack that isn't mentioned when the stagger hit lands, or he won't fall. I simply was bringing attention to it to help the content of an otherwise decent video. Seems you and the creator prefer to puff your chests though. Have a nice day though, appreciate the input.
