I tried a lineless semi-limited animation/pmv vibe+ a focus on colours, which was really fun to work on!! I feel like the animation gets a lil weird lookin at times but i’ll live with it fkjdslh
working in a lineless style is interesting; i didn’t exactly find it more difficult (in a lot of ways it actually went faster than colour+lineart), but it was p different n fun

“Friend” 💀
Thrushpelt is a short king who stands out in a sea of toxic male characters in the series.
He gave his life loving and respecting everyone around them, covered for them when needed, not just Bluefur. He was hurt, but he accepted when his apprentice Spottedpaw became a medicine cat without question or complaining. He was a great temporary mentor to Goldenpaw. He stuck up for Bluefur when Sunstar was worried about her and questioned her loyalty to her clan compared to her kits. He didn't even question Bluefur when she needed him the most to lie about who her kits were. And I don't doubt he spent the rest of his life grieving over the loss of them.
Never once does he complain when turned down, or when his apprentice changes paths in life. Just pure love, acceptance and support.
He was such a memorable cat, a true breath of fresh air for the series. I'd say he'd need his own spinoff story but im sure the Erins would ruin him somehow...
Thank you for making this video, it's brought me such joy to see my favourite Warrior in such a perfect AMV
though it’s kinda sad that in this series, basic human decency is so. rare. rlly hope the erin’s get better with writing decent characters, let alone relationships
The sad thing about it is that they didn’t even say the cause of death for such a great character, they put it off like he was nothing 😔

The fact that when Thrushpelt was dreaming about bluestar being with him as his mate,he didn't dream about having his own kits but instead was dreaming about all of them being together.This really shows how he thought of himself as the father of the kits.This nearly made me cry.I really need a fanfic of them being happy together with lots of fluff.😭
The artstyle is beautiful as well with how the characters are portrayed and the detail that make the expressions of the cats so clear.

He truly does love them as his own, only changing oak hearts features in his dream but not the kits themselves because he loves them just the way they are. The only thing he wants to change is that they’re his.
I love how in his dream, Thrushpelt doesn't fantasize about his own kits with Bluefur, he still sees Mistykit, Stonekit and Mosskit. This shows how much he really did love them as his own.
Same with how graywing loved turtletails kits even though they weren't his

I love how Bluefur's face after giving up her kits was illustrated.The way that the grief and guilt and sadness weighs so heavy on her and instead of sobbing she just lets the tears rain down. That stuck with me personally as I have been feeling similar recently. I also love the portrayal of Thrushpelt playing with the kits and desperately searching for them, devastated. I feel like the book glosses over that fact too quickly. This AMV Brought to light all the quiet support and positivity Thrushpelt brings and handles his character flawlessly.
And the way she buried her head into Thrushpelt when they both broke down in tear😭😭

After reading Bluestar's Prophecy, this almost made me cry 😭 Thrushpelt is such a sweetheart and I love how he acted like a father toward the kits despite knowing he could never even be with Bluefur he does it anyway, for her because he loves her.
"Yes,” Thrushpelt says, “yes, she’d give her life for her kits.” “That’s what worries me,” Sunstar says, but the worst of the tension has evaporated. “They’ll be okay,” Thrushpelt says, “I would give my life for them.”
Shows how much Thrushpelt cared for Bluefur and her kits.

I love the the detail of Trushpelt's and Bluefur's eyes. How Trushpelt's one desire is love symbolised by the hearts, while Bluefur's is the leadership position symbolised by the stars. And how Bluefur's eyes change in Trushpelt's dream to also be hearts and reciprocating his feelings. God and just every time the pupils have a crack whenever something bad happens, BEAUTIFUL!

I think everyone agrees, we either need to see more of him in StarClan or we need a “Thrushpelt’s Decision” or “Thrushpelt’s love” or something, because this good boi is SEVERELY underrated

I agree but at the same time I'm kinda scared they'll ruin his character. The fandom is pretty much the reason we see him as this amazing guy. He's not really great or bad in the book because he doesn't get much screen time. I'm worried they'll kill his character if they actually focus on him, all the good characters in Warriors are like background ones.

i love this so much !! thrush still had a relatively happy ending (aside from losing bluefurs kits) and i absolutely love that this shows the fact that he still got a happy ending, he still got to be close to the cat he loved, honestly him and bluefur have qpr vibes i love their friendship

Poor Thrushpelt deserved so much better from the writing...
That's not to say he should've ended up with Bluestar (I actually quite like that he didn't) or that Bluestar "owed" him more affection or anything like that; I just feel like the Erin's shoved him into the background and and his character never got any sort of on-screen closure/payoff.
I'd love to see a pov novella for him that shows how his relationship w/ bluefur and her kits develops before and after she loses them & becomes leader. The end of bluestar's prophecy makes it sound like their friendship improved greatly after the ordeal. Maybe show him and Bluestar coming to terms with and embracing the platonic bond they share.
((And maybe show him quietly realizing who mistypaw and stonepaw of riverclan are because A) he deserves closure after grieving his heart out for them B) it would show how deeply he's willing to keep Bluestar's secret and C) are we supposed to believe NOBODY in thunderclan managed to figure that out at least once?))
Speaking of Mistystar, why wasn't Thrushpelt at her leadership ceremony? If not to give her a life, he could've shown up alongside greypool or something to greet her...

Dying offscreen is the nail in the coffin for me. Like… COME ON. He deserves to at least have a manga or something about when he dies! I think we at least as fans deserve a cause of death… Like come on. WDYM he just somehow died offscreen and is never mentioned ever again.

This is TERRIFIC!!! always thurshpelt is shown as the poor character who never got his crush to love him, but this showed him in a totally yet not so different way!! The fact that he's enjoying his time w the kits as if they were him and showing all his love to blue even if it's not the same for her and he gets it yet still does it. Also the drawings at the end are REALLY CUTE AND KINDA SAD ??A, really love that everyone was waiting next to bluestar when she died it was a really nice touch :')

I like the subtle detail of Bluestar's pupil going from the leader's star to a broken heart when she had to give up her kits, showing that even while being a future fierce leader, grief was still strong enough to break her heart and affect her :( like her future was preventing her from being a mother and how much it hurt her

I adore the symbolism and the simple detail of just the EYES in your art style! Bluefur's star, symbolizing her importance and relevance to StarClan and the future (similarly seen in Goosefeather). And the adorable hearts for Thrustpelt, always present as his crush on his best friend is never far from the front of his focus. And of course who can forget the broken hearts when a cat is devastated and heartbroken ;-;
And as always, I always love a fellow lineless art style and seeing how the artist tackles such an aesthetic! Amazing work.

This entire pmv is well paced and beautifully executed, the way you drew bluefur/star at 2:13 , she really looks drained, and how someone would look if you walked in on them like that. Never seen anyone draw her like that. And the backgrounds are godly??

Thrustpelt does not get enough love. True, he was in love with Bluestar, but he never forced his feelings on her. She knew and he knew she didn't feel for him that way and he was thrilled to get the chance to even know her at all.

A thing i noticed about the dream- Bluestar(fur)'s eye highlights were hearts like Thrushpelt's instead of the usual dimonds, probably representing her love for him in the dream.

Later on she has to break those hearts, though, for her more important dream. That is, her leading the clan. Thats why the stars are bigger than the tiny hearts accompanying the stars

This is one of the best interpretations of Thrushpelt I think I've ever seen. I really wish the books gave us more of them being friends
Sadly we do get quite a bit of Thrushpelt(In comparison to a lot of side characters), it's just that it's through Bluestar's POV and half of the time she thinks that he's in her way( or an annoyance).

I mean she's an Okay character, I just don't like the fact that the Erin's keep on trying to justify her actions when they don't really have to (cough cough Spottedleaf's Heart etc, I mean everyone already knew that Thistle was bad, we didn't need more) after her own Super Edition. It kind of makes me not like her character more... You know.
The way she treated Thrushpelt too was sad, he wasn't even a nuisance like Ashfur or dare I say Bumblestripe. If there's an AU that might be interesting, I think it would be one where Thrushpelt finds out what Bluefur did and tells the Clans about the identity of her kits. That would have changed the series for sure. Tbh what Bluefur did was so risky, she very well could have been caught (I'm surprised that no one questioned the lack of blood or fox scent either), it even cost her the life of one of her kits. You can't tell me that no one recognized her kits at the gathering either. I mean both Mistyfoot and Stonefur look exactly like her.
In all honesty Sunstar knew that Thistleclaw wouldn't have made the greatest deputy (even agreeing with Bluefur on this point a couple of times), he probably would have waited to make Bluefur deputy or someone else. Starclan would have probably given him a sign too. I mean Bluefur was closer to Sunstar then Thistleclaw was by a mile anyways.

Honestly, I'm so glad to see someone's be depict their relationship as something without resentment. Thrush felt genuine love for Bluestar. All he wanted was her happiness and he'd keep her secret to make it happen. He was never mad she didn't love him and wanted to still have some relationship with her. He wasn't lead on or angry or used and I'm glad to see someone recognized that!

The fact that Thrushpelt spent the rest of his life thinking that Stonefur, Mosskit and Mistystar had been snatched by a fox really hurts me. He probably thought he should've done something to save them. He would've given his life for them.

Some details I adore. Whenever Bluestar or ThrushPelt are sad, their little eye shines are broken hearts.
This AMV honestly gets me. I hadn't thought about Thrushpelt too much before this, but now I am utterly OBSESSED with him. I desperately want to see more of him- the writing sort of screwed him over. I'd love to see more of him in the books, but I doubt we'll get it, and that kind of only leaves AU's and fanfiction to fill that particular void.
This AMV was fantastic, I come back to it daily, and I will weep for what could have been. Thrushpelt deserved so much more.
thrushpelt's little tantrum at 1:47 was absolutely adorable in a heartbreaking kinda way. i love the way you portray this as very much a one sided relationship without either of the two seeming pushy, they both genuinely want what's best for each other even if that doesn't mean having a romantic relationship. not to mention how absolutely stellar the background work and designs are! this is a really cute little valentine's day gift to everyone, so thank you!

2:18 is such a detail. I love how the shine in blue star's eyes repeatedly change like this. It shows how she was trying to balance both staying strong and protecting her clan whilst also grieving for her family.

Thrushpelt is honestly what Ashfur should have been. They were two characters placed in extremely similar scenarios who reacted in completely different ways. (Foil characters I think?) It really shows just how amazing of a cat Thrushpelt was, and shows what Ashfur could have been if he didn’t go off the deep end. Now I want some AU to be written where Thrushpelt watches over Ashfur from Starclan and tries to help him live with knowing that Squirrelflight won’t love him back. Thrushpelt could have been such a good influence on Ashfur!

Idk. I kinda feel a bit sorry for Bumblestripe. He really did love Dovewing. I think he was clingy because Dovewing let him believe he still had a chance when he became her mate at one point. Even though many won't agree with me, I don't think Bumblestripe was a bad guy.

I really like the part at 1:45 where Thushpelt is obviously getting frustrated and upset. This isn't bad in any way, its natural to feel upset and hurt by unreciprocated feeling. Its what Thushpelt does next that I adore, he doesn't abandon Bluestar, or be mean to her or demand a relationship ((or threaten to kill her kits to make her suffer like a certain someone)). He keeps being her friend and supporting her and loving her even though he knows she doesn't feel the same.
That to me is true love, it is support and kindness and putting others before yourself. This is a gorgeous video and is honestly my favorite AMV I've seen

Gosh. The hearts in Thrushpelt's eyes because he wants Bluefur's love but the stars in Bluefur's because her goal is leadership. the hearts in his eyes break when she loses her kits. Her eyes turn to broken hearts when she cries over them. Just. The detail.
This is beautiful because when thrush found out that the kits were missing, bluefur wasn’t crying because she lost them. She herself knew where they are and is sad about losing almost everything in her life except her clan and being forced to separate from her kits for the sake of her clan.

@L u c y D r a w s Mapleshade was a selfish cat, she was shown to want her kits so that she could claim Appledusk as her own. I don't really blame Appledusk for being angry at her but going behind her back and becoming mates with Reedshine was awful.
Frecklewish had a right not to help, the kits were in the middle of a river that was flooding and in a storm and she never meant them ill will. Ravenwing also had a right to be angry because he knew that Appledusk had killed two of his clanmates, though he had shown confusion and guilt when he learned the kits had died, same with Frecklewish.
Insanity is not a valid excuse to kill people, intrusive thoughts aren't a valid excuse to kill people, they don't justify what she did, it's just what caused it. Her idiocy, insanity and selfishness to try and make sure that the world knew that Appledusk was her's both left to the death of her three kits and the deaths of three cats who in no way shape or form deserved it (maybe Appledusk if you want to stretch it.)
If anything she should have gone after Oakstar, he acted with nepotism and anger and was the one who really put her kits in danger.

Thrushpelt and Squirrelflight are the only characters that really shine in the often trainwrecks and typos of the books.
I think Mapleshade shined as well, but as a villain, and was honestly one of the few good villains in the books, a lot of them are just bland characters and then once someone rejects them or is mean to them once they get all edgy and kill people

Usually, the nose markings on cats makes them look weird when people draw them. You are the only exception I've ever seen. Your head shapes are so good and precise that the nose marking on Bluestar looks fitting, and not like it's just there or that it makes her face look weird.
God I just love Thrushpelt as a character so much- even though he knew he'd never be Bluestar's mate in the end, he tried his damn hardest to help and still make her and her kits happy while trying to respect her boundaries. This man to me is the early day Fernsong and both are just awesome cats that need to be protected-
