"I don't know when the end came for Swiftpaw. I only remember him fighting like all of LionClan. That's how I will always remember him." -Brightheart (Secrets of the Clans)
oh my god. the last part always breaks me. the artist captured Swiftpaw's remorse over Brightheart's injury and shame, although the cats could not see him. he bent his head, to guilty to look at his deputy. god.
This MAP made me realize how close Longtail and Swiftpaw were and how terribly grief-stricken Longtail was when his apprentice died. Swiftpaw, you will never be forgotten.
*the fact that SwiftPaw tried to use the move LongTail taught him against the dogs broke me heart along side with LongTail visiting his apprentice’s grave*
When Swiftpaw became an apprentice, his mentor Longtail taught him a move. The move helped him in the RiverClan battle for Sunningrocks. The move helped him all his life. But it didn't help when he needed it most.
Longtail was his half brother, making Goldenfower actually Longtail’s step mom, which explains why she helped him so much when he went blind. Goldenfower and Longtail might have actually bonded over swiftpaw’s death, since they were both very close to him
I know it's kind of a small thing but I really like how some parts really highlight how much Swiftpaw looked up to Longtail, like when he checks Longtails reaction with Cloudkit was brought to camp. Idk, it just makes me happy because he really did admire his mentor
You're right, because he only hated cloudtail because longtail did and also because brightheart liked cloudtail more but that was later on, if longtail had liked cloudtail from the start I don't think swiftpaw would've hated cloudtail so much
04:53, this part made me sad, because it was Swiftpaw imagining ripping the dogs to shreds, when really it was the shock from powerful jaws crunching his frail body. He wishes he was able to, when his eyes go white, it's not from power entering his body, it's just the shock of the situation sinking in onto him. So, he fabricates a scenario where he manages to beat up the dogs, but, of course, that didn't happen, for me that's the saddest part of this MAP, life cruelly being ripped away from Swiftpaw.
It’s not really shock, just fear until the dog actually bites down on his back. Also he definitely did rip some of them up because there’s no way for the dog to grab his back when he’s pinned like that, and brightpaw later remarked that he fought like all of Lion clan
The story of swift paw is absolutely heart wrenching, but honestly all he wanted was to prove himself, to show that he was worth of becoming a thunderclan warrior. I honestly think that its kind of sad to see that Erin didn't have swiftpaws death affect the plot, I wanted to see longtail mourning alongside fire heart with no words to say only grief for the loss of the apprentice. I want to see bluestar feeling guilt for not giving him his name. I want to see brightheart crying out his name in her sleep, while cloud tail murmurers soft words of comfort to her. I want to see some swiftpaw affected moments in the books. And most of all I want to see a scene where both brightheart and swiftpaw reuniting in starclan with apologies from swiftpaw and a lick on the ear from brightheart telling him its alright. But sadly that wasn't what we got, and i'm sad because of it.
He totally affected the plot. He gave Firestar one of his lives and gave Brightheart the will to go on, inspired by his tenacity and bravery. He didn't affect the plot in a huge way, but every cat in the story made choices and did things that shaped the course of the Clans.
@@magicrainbowkitties1023 also if he didn't die then he probably would have become Brighthearts mate and Cloudtail and Brightheart would have never had whitewing, which in turn means they never would of had Dovewing
My of, brokenshadow : I wanted that too, but him joining Starclan made brightheart have more courage and be confident. Him joining starclan made fireheart become leader of thunderclan. If it weren't for the sad, sad death, so many cats wouldn't be blown, examples:whitewing, ivypool, dovewing, and so many others! We all will honour his death and mourn for him, but it made all of us a better cat. Our destiny's are clearer BECAUSE of swiftpaw.... I want you to know, everything will probably be made up for in a different book. Let's all honour him and make him smile, I'm sure he'll be proud!
I love every scene where Swiftpaw glances up at Longtail to decide how he should feel about situations. It's so cute, even if it's just a small detail.
I know I'm five months late. But this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I always hate when I see people saying "he's an overrated character" or "he was too impatient" because if I was in his shoes I would've done the same thing. This shines a whole new light on swiftpaw. He is my favourite character and he suffered in the most terrible way. The end bit where brightheart springs out of the tree hits me hard. She is angry. And she is very angry. And I ugly cry every time I see the scene where Swift is over Bright's body and that look in his eyes just feels so genuine and heart wrenching ugh. Thank you Sagutoyas, This is truly amazing
To me, I don’t understand how he was too impatient as people said he is. Bluestar without a doubt would have never made him a warrior if she was still alive to this day. She sees him as a traitor, so only waiting would be a waste of time. If it wasn’t for him, Fireheart would have never taken that much action about the dogs. Swiftpaw was there to show a sign that there was terribly something wrong near the clans. I would too do something the same, this is your clan, you need to take action. Swiftpaw was upset and in fact, furious that a younger apprentice than him could become a warrior first, that was very unfair for all of the apprentices, not only Swiftpaw. So in my eyes, he did the right thing.
Swiftpaw didn't go to fight the dogs out of selfishness or pride, he was so angry and sad that we wasn't being noticed. When Cloudtail was made a warrior, even though Swiftpaw had more experience, it pushed him over the edge. He felt a need to prove himself. No matter or stupid or reckless. This M.A.P shows that perfectly. omg thank you so much for liking this! 😱
Dutch Clancy Hello! Your comment stood out to me! Feel free to check out my channel, if you wish. But right now, youve been picked to get a subscriber!
+Jessica Lucas To be fair, no one had really encountered dogs that fearsome before. And Swiftpaw and Brightpaw were the size of full grown warriors. If it was a fox, they could've taken it on without a problem. Even when Firestar and the rest of the clan confronted it, Bluestar still died.
I hate how Swiftpaw was made an apprentice even before Brackenfur and Cinderpelt, and Graystripe was hardly ever around to take care of his own apprentice. Longtail on the other hand seemed like a very good and smart cat to mentor Swiftpaw. I’m actually really tired of people who say they hate Swiftpaw because he went to find the dogs out of selfishness, which I really don’t see it that way. Swiftpaw had hardly been mentioned at all for the entire arc, and if you ignore the fact that he died, he did his Clan a favor by showing the danger of the creatures at Sunningrocks. It was Bluestar’s fault he never got to become a warrior, a bit of Fireheart's too, but n0p3. This MAP beautifully shows Swiftpaw’s struggles of trying to be noticed and to be a true member of ThunderClan. The artists portrayed the scenes perfectly, this is definitely one of my favorite projects I’ve ever seen, and I’m so happy it was finished so soon. Amazing job you guys!!
Swiftpaw was a hardworking cat that deserved to be made a warrior, but Bluestar didn't trust his mentor and therefore forbade him to be a warrior, along with all the other apprentices besides cloudpaw. Cloudpaw being made a warrior but not swiftpaw was unfair on bluestar's part, but I don't see why it's firehearts fault. Fireheart tried to convince Bluestar that swiftpaw and the other apprentices were trustworthy and deserved to be made warriors, but she refused to listen. Swiftpaw was desperate to prove himself, and he made a risky deduction that cost him his life and brightpaws eye. I agree that longtail was a good mentor, there's a scene in the books where he and fireheart have an argument. Longtail wants swiftpaw to be a warrior, since cloudtail recieved his name. Afterwards fireheart does try to convince Bluestar to no avail. It's one of the small details in the main story, a plot line in the background that should have recieved more attention to be honest
I absolutely love how the move that Longtail taught Swiftpaw (the one where he pushes his opponent off of him with his hind legs) was repeatedly shown throughout the PMV as the story progressed and portrayed different ideas. When Longtail first uses on him and he does it back to Longtail, it shows their bond as mentor/apprentice and how Swiftpaw looked up to him and learned a lot from him. This idea (their bond) is then portrayed when Longtail watches Fireheart bring Cloudkit with disgust, which causes Swiftpaw to then mirror his mentor's feelings. Next, he uses it on an enemy cat, and it works. He's obviously proud of himself, and this also shows how much he's learned and how capable he is as a warrior. But then all he sees is Bluestar looking approvingly at Cloudpaw, which allows us to understand his frustrations as well as his actions later on. Finally, he tries to use it on the dog who's attacking him. This move was used by Swiftpaw throughout the PMV and has worked every single time before. However, now, it's completely ineffective, and that immediately gives the audience a feeling of hopelessness. This hopeless feeling then is able to highlight how courageous and fearless Swiftpaw is as he's shown attacking with his claws right after, even though both he and the audience are fully aware of how desperate his situation is (and this desperation is reinforced by how Swiftpaw's move failed when it worked every single time before). Which then makes it even more sad when he's killed ;-; Wow so this ended up a lot longer than I thought it'd be but I'm just so impressed at the thought put into the planning for this that I had to point it out. Planning aside, the art for this is also amazing and it's incredible how it was completed in only 72 hours! Overall, I just love this so much. Brilliant job!
I think the most important thing to remember about Longtail is that he most likely was frustrated that Fireheart wasn't trying harder to make swiftpaw a warrior. It's hard for firestar and Longtail to understand the other better but in a dangerous path I know he meant well.
The realization in swift paws eyes when he was laying over bright heart really got to me! Just the thought of swiftpaw knowing that he did this and the realization only getting to him after it’s to late is devastating
Alice The Horse when I say the look in swift paws eyes I just thought to my self of what he was thinking like him saying sorry with that look in his eyes of regret. Just Imagine him saying please look after her while I’m gone make waterfalls flow from my face 😭
3 years later and this map still brings me to tears. It’s beautifully animated and amazingly executed. All of the talented creators that contributed to this masterpiece did amazing work, and it’s great to see where some of have from to what they make now!
"I'm not ready, I'm not ready..." The best thing in this MAp for me is that you're REALLY not ready for the ending. If i were non-Warriors viewer I would not expect what will happen to the protagonist. I mean AT ALL. Just like Swiftpaw I wouldn't expect to meet the death, and this moment here is just as terrible, as brilliant. One of my favorite MAPs for now. Big thanks to all participants and hoster, you're a heroes!
God, I always tear up at the last part. You can just see that Swiftpaw's indirectly telling Fireheart: "I never wanted any of this to happen! Just save her from the mistakes that I've made." Beautiful MAP, one of the emotionally strongest I've watched! I always thought that Swiftpaw was such an overlooked character, so thank you to all of these talented artists for making this! :)
whatever your like ends in, is the warrior you are. 1. Brackenfur 2. Sleekwhisker 3. Darktail 4. Bramblestar 5. Mapleshade 6. Tree 7. Jayfeather 8. Ivypool 9. Lionblaze 10. Rowanstar K. Twigbranch (So. This has kinda gotten confusing. I had to add something in a while ago, and it was after it had gotten 1k likes, so I added a K for Twigbranch. It just had gotten more confusing cause after you hit the K's you would always be Twigbranch. So I made this edit to explain things. If you only have one number an K e.g. 1K then you'd be Twigbranch, but if you have two numbers and a K e.g. 1.2k then you'd be the number after the point. So if it was at 1.2k I would be Sleekwhisker)
I like to think Swiftpaw was the one who led Longtail to Starclan and that when Swiftpaw died, Longtail and Goldenflower became like best friends from grieving over her son and his apprentice. Longtail and Swiftpaw's relationship is something I would have loved to read more about in the first arc and later on when Brightheart had kits she told her kits about Swiftpaw and how brave he was. Like Snowbush and Dewnose are all about being as great as him. And when Bluestar died, she sought out Swiftpaw and apologized for ignoring his skills.
@Karamia_ Wolfgirl_21 your right. on certain parts it was as if I was having a flash back from what happened both before and after his death. When I saw the thumbnail I clicked on it immediately. Swiftpaws death must have or really did devastate a lot of readers. the fact that his death caused bluestar to doubt starclan even more and it was probably really close to the time where he would become a warrior didn't stop me from crying even more than I did after watching this amv.(neither did the music)
After, like the 10 time watching this, that "The End" really hit me hard. You don't usually say it's the end of the video, you would thank the viewers for watching and stuff like that. But this video was telling the story of Swiftpaw, his upbringing and his sacrificial death for his love. He died so early on and that The End was the scissors that cut his life off. This probably doesn't convey the feelings that hit me when I saw that The End, I'm sorry.
You conveyed yourself perfectly well. These books are notorious for backstabbing you, and unfortanetely Swiftpaw was apart of it. These books have unsettled me more than anything in my life, but that's what makes them good. Instead of seing Swiftpaw's death as only a tragedy, we can extract something from it. If these books teach you anything, it's that life is always unpredictable, and you have to enjoy it while also expecting the unexpected. (If that makes sense?) I had to write a short story using figurative language (More creative ways to describe something, not really about similes and stuff.) In the end, I made the decision to kill the main character, the protagonist. She was killed by a long lost friend, who saw his duties over mercy. Anyway, this reply is to a year old comment and it's getting long so I have nothing else to say.
I know I'm late but I'm actually crying. I've seen many depictions of the dog attack but this one made me very emotional. I had never doven deep into Swiftpaw's character as Brightheart was always the one who was talked about. Swiftpaw just wanted to be a good cat to his clan and to make Longtail proud. The use of colors and visuals is amazing, especially Swiftpaw using the moves Longtail taught him. I loved this map, be it both heartbreaking and beautiful.
4 years later and this map has me sobbing not only cause this song fits them so well but because of the absolute detestation you can see in Swiftpaws eyes in the last scene when he has to leave his love behind😭😭
This is so sad. The one tactic he uses to defend himself from being pinned that Longtail taught him works all his life... but them, when he tries one last time against a huge enemy it doesn’t mark, u can see him frantically trying to push the dog off, but it didn’t work!
This part, most of all, destroyed me. I had a cat, who looked a lot like Brightpaw, who was mauled by a pack of dogs in our back yard not too long before I started reading the books. Great video and kudos on the all the talent on-board for capturing such a devastating scene, and I don't mean that sarcastically. There's a certain catharsis in letting myself cry over Warriors m.a.p.s that confronts and eases the pain of the cats I've lost. I'd like to imagine they're with StarClan now.
One thing that I like about this MAP is how is shows Swiftpaw physically and mentally get older. Whenever I see the ending "-paw" or see that the character is in the apprentice's section, I immediately image them to be 12 or 13 years old in maturity, when in reality one most likely becomes a warrior by the time they've reached adulthood, so Swiftpaw, when he died, might have been 18 years old in maturity. I've seen a lot of MAPs, but even though I don't know too much about Swiftpaw, I think that this is one of best that I've seen. I can feel the emotion, tone, mood, attitude (whatever the right word for this sort of thing) in different places, such as at 3:48, he is positioned in such a way that shows that he is ready to take on this task almost to the point of making him a martyr for doing it. I also like how they showed Fireheart and other warriors discovering the rabbits at 3:13, which foreshadow Swiftpaw's decision and later his death. There's a lot more that could be said and analyzed in this video, but I don't want to make a high school english essay in the comments. This MAP is amazing and everyone who worked in it did an awesome job =)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't swift paw like 18 moons old? That's just old enough to be a warrior. Edit: I see that someone else replied something like this
In my opinion, Swiftpaw deserves this MAP. He fought like a warrior 😢 We all miss him "All I know is that he fought like all of LionClan."-Brightpaw (Now I go cry in the corner thank you)
Honestly SwittPaw and BrightHeart are my favorite cats and everyone loves BlueStar even though she is the cause for his death she had a huge breakdown and now a very loyal apprentice was killed and another very loyal apprentice was badly disfigured and then BlueStar gave her the awful name of LostFace just because you are having a break down don't take it out on BrightHeart like come on BlueStar and she is so annoying even in StarClan she complains about how the spot she is sitting in is damp and everyone calls FireStar annoying BlueStar come on you can do better than that
It sent a massive pain through me to realize that the person who hosted this is an actual nightmare, I loved this animation and would watch it over and over again.
Something that made my heart break in millions of pieces is to think about Swiftpaw, Bluestar, and all the cats that died in the old territory, were buried in the old territory. Yellowfang and Bluestar, and major cats, are still remembered today in the books. However, what about the other cats, like Snowfur? Most likely including Swiftpaw, except a few might remember him. Will they fade quicker than the others? Will they be gone forever?
Animal Jammer Loves Animals They'll always be remembered, not just in the hearts and minds of the cats, but in the stories that will be passed down from generation to generation. ♡
Dogs are most of the time stronger than cats but swiftpaw did try his best to push the dog off him (even tho it looked like he was using so much force)
I'm actually crying This MAP is so beautiful and it shows Swiftpaw's life in so many fantastic ways. All of the participants did splendid and the art is absolutely gorgeous
*i'm a little late to the bandwagon but* I can't believe I haven't seen this sooner. Holy. Alright, this MAP is special to me for four reasons. Firstly, This MAP shows the details of Swiftpaw's life. This makes the death so much more heartbreaking later on, as you see this young cat develop feelings and relationships without any words given. It's so emotional to see him and Longtail spar together, to spend time together. The books didn't touch on it too much, but this makes his life seem so much more than 'cat gets bit by dog oh no.' I have never seen such beautiful animation and wordless emotion be conveyed through Swiftpaw's story, and it makes me tear up every time. Second, his death hits so hard. Because of the emotional buildup before, the timing of the animation makes it seem so much more unpredictable. Honestly, this shone such a new light on his story and his death, giving it such an impactful end. It really is truly amazing. The gore wasn't too extra (like I have seen it in other MAPS about Swiftpaw coff) but it was enough to show you how gruesome and unexpected this actually was. Brightpaw's reaction to it also made her emotion seem genuine as she sprang out of the tree for revenge. Before, you had seen her quiet and reserved, but when you realize how real the circumstances are, you know that this makes her ANGRY. I'd also like to point out the shot where the dogs are looming over them, shadows that seem impossible to beat (which they were). Just breathtaking. Third, the friggin MUSIC. I could not have picked a better song. A nice instrumental at the beginning, followed by soft, sad lyrics. It plays perfectly with his story, and I absolutely love it. A joy to listen to, it makes the animation and story feel especially important. Well done. Lastly, the ending credits. Specifically the Longtail scene. Oh, my god. THE TEARS ARE HERE! This was just.. bittersweet. Up until this point, you are seeing all of the horrified reactions of the characters seeing their deaths. But, that quiet moment you have with Longtail really hits you. You know this character, all the struggles and trials he's been through. And seeing him earlier in the MAP, training Swiftpaw, you know that they had an incredibly close bond. Longtail knows this is an accident. But he still grieves. And he grieves hard. *Overall, just amazing. Sorry for that tangent, but I just needed to say it and go in depth, because this MAP TOTALLY deserves it. I subbed to all of these animators, they are just amazing. Thank you for making this a reality.*
I know, I 100% agree with everything you have said. It all brought tears to my eyes and I can’t stop playing this. Longtail lived such a life, witnessing the deaths of all his apprentices must have been hard, even to his death. Ahhh! I’m crying again, this time for Longtail ahh! Swiftpaw in this reminds me so much of my cat - they are identical, behaviour and appearance. When I watch this all I can picture is just my cat and it’s so heartbreaking. Also the credits, his broken paw and then to Longtail with the forget-me-nots is just way too much. Ahhhheeeee I’m sobbing.
A Dangerous Path was the most depressing book I read outside of high school Bluestar went crazy, Swiftpaw died out of desperation to get his warrior status, Brightheart got disfigured, so many cats died including a deaf kit, the forest was under threat by dogs, and Tigerstar got away with everything
The ending part where swiftpaws spirit was laying over brightpaw broke me 😭😭😭💔 I wasn't ready!! this has always been so lovely and I always come back to watch. Beautiful everyone ❤️
It's been like 3 years since this map came out and I've loved it ever since. Years ago, when I read the books and went up to swiftpaw's death and brightheart's injury, I was devastated. Swiftpaw should've lived longer. I've been rereading the books this year and I still get so upset when swiftpaw dies. Love you Swiftpaw 🥺💕
The combination of Swiftpaw's face and him fading at the end makes me cry SO HARD! THE EMOTHION PORTRAYED IN THOSE SECONDS AND THEN LONGTAIL SITTING AT HIS GRAVE WAS HEART WRENCHING! THANK YOU FOR SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL!
Quiet Rage I think it real happen in the books. Since it been so many edited changes in the book Dangerous Path. Because the views from the parents said it was too dark.
Watching this over each year again and again, it really does put a hole in your heart. Swiftpaw was always one of my favourites, despite him not being a main character. He's loyal and determined, but the luck was never on his side. Bless him.
I haven't read these books for a good 8 years and this honestly hurt my heart so badly to watch. Longtail and Swiftpaw were always my favorite characters back in the day. Watching the scene play out with the dogs made me bawl. Still tearing up as I type this. Thank you for reminding me of my childhood and thank you to everyone who chipped in to recreate one of my personal saddest warriors deaths.
If I could bring back six cats I would automatically revive SwiftPaw, LongTail, HollyLeaf, CinderPelt, YellowFang and StoneFur The Writing Below Contains Spoilers for YellowFang's Secret! (I would also like CloudPelt to come back from YellowFang's Secret, his death was so unnecessary and it just made me cry. I loved him so much for the short time he was in the book, this is one of the bigger reasons I hate BrokenTail/Star. CloudPelt's death was mostly BrokenTail/Star's fault because if he hadn't lied about the rabbit CloudPelt wouldn't have died from the battle with the WindClan patrol.)
If he got an injury, like lost a limb or something, i would want his name to be changed to houndstrike and not some stupid name like lostface but if he did keep his suffix / didnt get injured i think his name would be swiftthunder or swiftlightning because he was able to escape the dogs But i also like the swiftstrike au uvu
@@polarwolfo yeah, I think firestar would change his name to swiftcourge or houndstrike(I love that) after bluestar died and named him dogmind or something like that
I've watched this video so many times since it came to my attention and I'm still stunned by how on point everyone is with Swiftpaw's growth and bitterness and anger at being denied to becoming a warrior and wanting to prove himself to the rest of his clan and his failure against the dogs. Also the use of the move Longtail showed him and how he was successful with each attempt until faced with the much larger dog and the realization in his face that he wasn't going to make it but he would still give it his all.
I left the fandom about two years ago and now I'm coming back because of nostalgia. This was by far my favorite map... But after I found out about what happened and stuff I'm just sad man... I really loved this map and now I cant enjoy it anymore :(
HOLY COW!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THIS SO FAST!!!! It's truly incredible that you guys were able to make something so beautiful and so high quality with the limited time you were given. This project has made me appreciate Swiftpaw all the more, and even made me a little misty towards the end. The character relationships were expressed so well, and it's a shame that the dynamic between Longtail, Firestar, Swiftpaw, and Cloudtail goes unnoticed much of the time. Amazing job to everyone who participated!
ok ok.... seriously... this purely reflects Swiftpaw! I mean, a lot of people always show him like a stone-hearted apprentice, fighting fearlessy agaisnt a gigant pack of dogs, but this showed us how he was brave indeed, but, it also remebered us how Swiftpaw was still young... and, like every grown up and young one... he indeed knew what fear was... he indeed felt afraid of never becoming a warrior, of failing to Thunderclan, of losing Bightpaw and his own life... thank for remebering us that Sally
I always come back and the ending is always the one that hits hardest to me. Even though the other cats could not see him, He had the look of remorse and shame for what he had gotten her into and for the injuries he led her to have. That part always genuinely breaks me.
That part always makes me cry. It always makes me think about how much he loved her, and how he was probably apologizing (in his head) in his final moments. Him laying over her and protecting and being there for her even after he died will always hurt my heart. The way he looks away from Fireheart in shame thinking about what he's brought her into and fades away is his resignation as her protector. This MAP is amazing.
first time i watched this i was 10, i cried and then downloaded the music onto my phone via loud headphones and voice memo. im now 16 and crying just as hard. genuinely such an amazing MAP
*Reads title* "I'm not ready" *Sees next video* "Hurry Hurry" *Sees down that video* "Wait for it" OK WHERE ARE YOU "Ready as i'll ever be" I CAN SMELL YOU
5:16 This... this scene really got me. You can see the real regret and sadness in Swiftpaw’s expression as he realizes that he was the one who led this to happen to Brightpaw. He really loved her💔 Edit: Swiftpaw loved her as a *friend* . That’s what I meant
God the last scene where Swiftpaw’s spirit is hovered over Brightpaw’s injured body made me cry so much, the way he looked away from Fireheart taking blame for Brightpaw’s injury…god my heart broke for Swiftpaw, he deserved so much better with his life.
I just realized.... After the Great Journey, think of all the cats that were left behind..... All those bodies under someone’s feet... Paw prints covered..... Blood from loyal warriors forgotten and seeped into the dirt.... I realized this only when I saw the end
AprilSeal 44 I like to think that when the took the Great Journey, the spirits and Starclan followed them, despite the physical history being left behind.
at 5:20, when Fireheart saw Brightpaws remains, I strongly wish that Fireheart and the patrol could see Swiftpaw standing over her body as he did in this. Now, that would've caused me to cry, for sure. Imagine this; **Cloudtail yowled as he stared in horror, ''Fireheart!'' Fireheart turned to face Cloudtail, his eyes clouded in pain and loss for the ThunderClan apprentice, Swiftpaw. ''It's Brightpaw! She's alive!'' He reported, staring at her body in dismay. Fireheart rushed over to look, half of the patrol following, the other half staring dully at Swiftpaw's body. Fireheart felt his heart break in half as he stared at Brightpaw's remains. Her face was torn, exposing peach, fresh skin on her left side of her face. And laying over her body, was a young, shining apprentice tom. The crying tom was instantly recognised as Swiftpaw. Not just Swiftpaw, but the StarClan spirit of him. He seemingly glared into Fireheart's soul, before wincing, and fading away. A tear was seen rolling down Brightpaw's flank. Fireheart, half shook and half confused, called over his patrol instantly. ''Sandstorm, go get Cinderpelt!'' Fireheart ordered...** .. Now this would have been amazing to read. This is now canon, in my books.
I disagree, Starclans untouchableness was a large part imo of what made the early series better. You also have to think about where it'd go storywise from there.
His expression and tears at the end, I can practically hear him dripping with guilt and misery, weakly muttering "All I wanted was to be a warrior..." as he lies on top of his friend's dying body.
I cannot get over this MAP, it is absolutely incredible. The slow animation style fits the music and the limited movements make it look like a visual novel to fit perfectly with the telling of Swiftpaw's entire life. The emotions are so clear without a single line of dialogue and the music's natural beauty strengthens the animation more. I doubt there could have been a more perfect and emotionally moving choice of music. And not to mention, this map alone sheds such a new light on a rather minor character who never did any good. I know portraying Swiftpaw in a human light isn't a new concept, but this MAP has done a spectacular job at it. It has turned a background character into one of my absolute favorite warriors characters. It turned a death that initially didn't faze me much into the most heart wrenching of the series in my eyes. I don't feel for fictional characters very often, but this MAP gets very close to making me cry. Amazing work. Truly amazing. Everyone involved did spectacular.
What truly made my heart break was where Swiftpaw tried to use the move Longtail taught him to get the dog off him. LUNA YOURE A FREAKING LEGEND FOR ADDING THAT
Ive never read Warriors before, and never had planned too. I know watching these pmv's provide heavy spoilers, but I never regret watching a single one. I especially love this, the PMV style worked heavenly with the music, gave it a soft tone. And even at the end, I didnt feel uncomfortable from the gore. The way everything was placed was so beautiful, you made me cry all you beautiful animators! Please, keep it up, you all deserve everything good coming your way! Thank you for this MAP. It really has changed my perspective on Warriors and has given me high interest in it.
Swiftpaw never really had a dad figure so i think he was a lot closer to longtail than you think, since his dad Patchpelt didnt really care. Also, patchpelt had Graystripe and graystripes half bro is Darkstripe Swiftpaw is related to graystripe which means his blood is still with us! Love dis map ❤🔥
I wasn't bc patchpelt didn't care I think it's bc patchpelt was an elder at the time so he couldn't show a dad figure cause it would probably Eghaust him
I love Swiftpaw so much! And this- oh boy, I did not expect to cry over a warriors MAP, but here I am. The portrayal of Swiftpaw and Brightpaw’s anger at not being warriors, the portrayal of their friendship- it was all done so well! And everyone’s parts looked AMAZING. This is definitely one of my all-time favourite MAPs.
This is the most emotional map I’ve ever even tbh and features some under appreciated characters! Great job to all the artists and editors, this turned out so well!
I love how you interpreted Swift’paws life with his mentor Longtail aswell. It gives I guess a little backstory of why Swiftpaw doesn’t really like CloudKit. This m.a.p is actually one of my favourites. I don’t know how to express the right words because I’m utterly speechless. Great job!
I saw this about a day after it came out and holy MOLY, it's truly touching. This shows Swiftpaw's true relationship with his mentor, Longtail, and him trying to fit in as a ThunderClan apprentice. It wasn't fair for Swiftpaw not to be apprenticed and to see Swiftpaw's true hard dedication in this MAP is truly touching. I love his character. WELL DONE! Edit: WOAH THANKS FOR ALL THE LIKES. You too Sally. :D
did anyone notice how Swiftpaw tried to use the same backfeet technique Longtail taught him on the dogs? did anyone else cry when they noticed this too??? ;;;
i started crying when swift saw that there were more dogs then he thought. and then i cried like a freakin baby when he died, and his spirit was saying goodbye to bright
Kitten` Cloudy i have only have 3 of the series and i and angry that the sixth series is out and i already know half of it XC so i kinda spoiled myself heheheeheh... he... cry i need the other books now XD
Sure, i was sad at the beginning, but at the very end, when Longtail was looking st Swiftpaw's grave, i started sobbing. I don't normally cry for maps, but that hit me hard. This is a true masterpiece, and this all flows so well. That one dislike is gonna get bit in the ass by Swiftpaw's ghost. This is stunning, and well worth the wait.
I think the whole Saharan desert just blew into my eyes. I am actually crying, this was really pretty and REALLY REALLY SAD. So well put together, so beautiful, emotional, and just over all and amazing piece of art. Everyone who participated did such an amazing job of capturing the facial expressions, and doing everything else just perfectly. I love this map! Thank you to all of its participants and to Sally for putting it together!!!!
Hnnn ok so I commented about how well this was done by everyone, but after rewatching this map over and over I just need to say that there is so much detail and attention put into it. From the repetivenes of the fighting moves, to the bonds between characters, everything is so well thought out and flows so well. And my god every time I watch it my heart breaks more and more for poor swiftpaw, you and everyone involved seriously bought this guy the much needed love and attention that he fails to get. You guys did justice to his short life and the small amount of fame he had in the book. It’s just too amazing TTuTT
I know right? I love Swiftpaw and too many people hate him and say "It was his fault he died." Swiftpaw was an apprentice. He was mad, for not being a warrior like Cloudpaw just because his leader didn't trust his mentor. He was young too. He just wanted to prove himself. Most of you reading this would be wrong to say you wouldn't do the same thing. AND FOR THE LOVE OF PETE THEY DIDNT KNOW THERE WERE THAT MANY DOGS AND THAT THEY WERE THAT BIG!
I am very late to the party and I am aware of this la la la MOVING ON While I was reading the books, I was injured in an automobile accident that disfigured me (although obviously not to the extent poor Brightheart went through), so this scene and the culmination of this arc was already important to me. I am so, so thankful that the animators put such effort into fleshing out the 'before' of the story rather than focusing only on the gory and heartbreaking ending. Your comment specifically, though, is what drove me out of lurkerdom to actually comment: sometimes the shortest lives can make the biggest difference. (Feel free to skip the rest of this comment, it's only tangentially related to the concept and not really to the video at all) This summer I fostered two neonatal kittens. I found them in a garbage sack that someone had thrown into a (thankfully dry) canal. They were hours old, still sticky with amniotic fluid and with umbilical cords still attached. I love cats and I love to volunteer with animal shelters, I'm going to school for pre-vet, so neither neonates nor animal cruelty were new to me. It was not, you might say, my first rodeo. However, for whatever reason, I bonded HARD to one of the two kittens (my mom, who taught me everything I know about caring for infant animals, subsequently bonded to the other). They died within hours of each other at two weeks of age from respiratory infections, likely due to the fact that they'd been tied in a plastic sack for God knows how long, but I still cry every single day about that two-week-old kitten. I think about the cat he might have grown up to become, and it's given me so much more zeal for my studies and my volunteering that acquaintances have remarked on it, though it's not a story I share very often because it's just ... too personal. RIP, my sweet baby Bean. I can't wait to hold you again and feel your fluttery little squeaky purrs against my throat. Don't punch the others waiting for me up there as much as you did your brother.
Oh my god, this is a masterpiece, so much little things like the flower "forget me nots" at the end, the same move that he learn from Longtail, His anger who get bigger, everything is so well done, this was perfect. Thanks for this map, Swiftpaw deserved more love, he kinda remind me badgerfang ♥

When Swiftpaw became an apprentice, his mentor Longtail taught him a move.
The move helped him in the RiverClan battle for Sunningrocks.
The move helped him all his life.
But it didn't help when he needed it most.

i really do believe that swiftpaw looked at longtail like a father figure
Their relationship was so sweet, their bond was so strong. Poor longtail, he was devastated when Swift died.
Longtail was his half brother, making Goldenfower actually Longtail’s step mom, which explains why she helped him so much when he went blind.
Goldenfower and Longtail might have actually bonded over swiftpaw’s death, since they were both very close to him
But swiftpaw and longtail are brothers
That ligit almost made me cry.

I know it's kind of a small thing but I really like how some parts really highlight how much Swiftpaw looked up to Longtail, like when he checks Longtails reaction with Cloudkit was brought to camp. Idk, it just makes me happy because he really did admire his mentor
I've watched this video so many times, and I realise that I actually love swiftpaw and I'm not sure why, I think he has become my favourite character
So, he fabricates a scenario where he manages to beat up the dogs, but, of course, that didn't happen, for me that's the saddest part of this MAP, life cruelly being ripped away from Swiftpaw.
isnt actually fully white. it has one point in both eyes in the top, but yeah, you're right
It’s not really shock, just fear until the dog actually bites down on his back.
@@foxxlight That's also very true.
Imma draw it, because I wish we got it
I love every scene where Swiftpaw glances up at Longtail to decide how he should feel about situations.
"If I was in his shoes I would've done the same thing" but he doesn't wear shoes... (ok that was a joke don't kill me aa)
He's my favourite too, and everytime i watch this I cry, every darn time.
This is an underrated comment.
I agree, I agree, I agree. With every statement you made.
The part when Fireheart bought Cloudkit to the camp, and Swiftpaw looked to Longtail to see his reaction amd copy him was so sweet
I know he wanted to please his mentor
frrr
1:55 1:57 its too sweet to look😭
Swiftpaw didn't go to fight the dogs out of selfishness or pride, he was so angry and sad that we wasn't being noticed. When Cloudtail was made a warrior, even though Swiftpaw had more experience, it pushed him over the edge. He felt a need to prove himself. No matter or stupid or reckless. This M.A.P shows that perfectly.
omg thank you so much for liking this! 😱

Minty And Others Thank you. :D
They thought it would be fine leave the alone.
BreezyBramble oh my gosh yes, you are so right, you should be pinned
I agree with each and every part of this. However, What did Fireheart do wrong?
BreezyBramble I don't really see how it's firehearts fault. He can't make apprentices warriors himself
Mewzey Exactly!
Finally, he tries to use it on the dog who's attacking him. This move was used by Swiftpaw throughout the PMV and has worked every single time before. However, now, it's completely ineffective, and that immediately gives the audience a feeling of hopelessness. This hopeless feeling then is able to highlight how courageous and fearless Swiftpaw is as he's shown attacking with his claws right after, even though both he and the audience are fully aware of how desperate his situation is (and this desperation is reinforced by how Swiftpaw's move failed when it worked every single time before). Which then makes it even more sad when he's killed ;-;
Wow so this ended up a lot longer than I thought it'd be but I'm just so impressed at the thought put into the planning for this that I had to point it out. Planning aside, the art for this is also amazing and it's incredible how it was completed in only 72 hours!
Overall, I just love this so much. Brilliant job!
Sophie Lan noo this made me so sad
I think the most important thing to remember about Longtail is that he most likely was frustrated that Fireheart wasn't trying harder to make swiftpaw a warrior. It's hard for firestar and Longtail to understand the other better but in a dangerous path I know he meant well.

Wise word i understand
STOP ur hurting dis childs emotions
You conveyed yourself perfectly well.
These books are notorious for backstabbing you, and unfortanetely Swiftpaw was apart of it.
These books have unsettled me more than anything in my life, but that's what makes them good.
Instead of seing Swiftpaw's death as only a tragedy, we can extract something from it.
If these books teach you anything, it's that life is always unpredictable, and you have to enjoy it while also expecting the unexpected. (If that makes sense?)
I had to write a short story using figurative language (More creative ways to describe something, not really about similes and stuff.) In the end, I made the decision to kill the main character, the protagonist.

Honestly SwittPaw and BrightHeart are my favorite cats and everyone loves BlueStar even though she is the cause for his death she had a huge breakdown and now a very loyal apprentice was killed and another very loyal apprentice was badly disfigured and then BlueStar gave her the awful name of LostFace just because you are having a break down don't take it out on BrightHeart like come on BlueStar and she is so annoying even in StarClan she complains about how the spot she is sitting in is damp and everyone calls FireStar annoying BlueStar come on you can do better than that

When warriors soul tottaly he will get new life. I heard that
I think the starclan cats use fading as an excuse.
They're ghosts, they could be able to make themselves more transparent.
I think Brightheart will remember Swiftpaw

Wonderfully done! Swiftpaw using the move longtail taught him and it failing was so emotionally heavy, this turned out amazing! well done everyone
I didn't notice that until you mentioned that. OML ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY?
OH I didn't notice :( now I'm sad
Dogs are most of the time stronger than cats but swiftpaw did try his best to push the dog off him (even tho it looked like he was using so much force)
I'm actually crying
This MAP is so beautiful and it shows Swiftpaw's life in so many fantastic ways. All of the participants did splendid and the art is absolutely gorgeous
Me: Don't cry don't cry

lol
*i'm a little late to the bandwagon but*
I can't believe I haven't seen this sooner.
FINALY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME
I know, I 100% agree with everything you have said.
Nice conclusion about this terrific map, one of my favorites
and the scorpion grasses (forget-me-not flower) make it even sadder

A Dangerous Path was the most depressing book I read outside of high school
Bluestar went crazy, Swiftpaw died out of desperation to get his warrior status, Brightheart got disfigured, so many cats died including a deaf kit, the forest was under threat by dogs, and Tigerstar got away with everything
Yeah like what, I told all my friends about Snowkit.
I read A Dangerous Path in Elementary school.
Most depressing book I have ever read.
(besides Crookedstar's Promise.)

Dangerous path was in my opinion the most depressing book in the series, but in the super editions, it is Crookedstars Promise
Yep, I didn't feel the same as reading the other books.

The Writing Below Contains Spoilers for YellowFang's Secret!

This PMV is so beautiful and touching to me, I'm so proud of all of the animaters who helped with this PMV.
ok ok.... seriously... this purely reflects Swiftpaw!

God the last scene where Swiftpaw’s spirit is hovered over Brightpaw’s injured body made me cry so much, the way he looked away from Fireheart taking blame for Brightpaw’s injury…god my heart broke for Swiftpaw, he deserved so much better with his life.
STOPPT I can't see thru all these mf tears
I just realized....
After the Great Journey, think of all the cats that were left behind.....
All those bodies under someone’s feet...
Paw prints covered.....
Blood from loyal warriors forgotten and seeped into the dirt....
I realized this only when I saw the end
AprilSeal 44 I like to think that when the took the Great Journey, the spirits and Starclan followed them, despite the physical history being left behind.
AprilSeal 44 at least they’re spirits followed the clans
They followed them along in Starclan
This has always made me sad
They were also digging around a lot the churn up the ground, imagine how many cat bones and bodies they found
I love how the dogs howled when the song went, 'Ooooohhh..' It was so perfect!
at 5:20, when Fireheart saw Brightpaws remains, I strongly wish that Fireheart and the patrol could see Swiftpaw standing over her body as he did in this. Now, that would've caused me to cry, for sure. Imagine this;
**Cloudtail yowled as he stared in horror, ''Fireheart!'' Fireheart turned to face Cloudtail, his eyes clouded in pain and loss for the ThunderClan apprentice, Swiftpaw. ''Sandstorm, go get Cinderpelt!'' Fireheart ordered...**
.. Now this would have been amazing to read. This is now canon, in my books.
I disagree, Starclans untouchableness was a large part imo of what made the early series better. You also have to think about where it'd go storywise from there.
Since this MAP is however, looking at Swiftpaw the most. Therefore, maybe he was standing there, but they didn't see him because he's just a spirit.

Thank you for this MAP. It really has changed my perspective on Warriors and has given me high interest in it.
Swiftpaw never really had a dad figure so i think he was a lot closer to longtail than you think, since his dad Patchpelt didnt really care.
Also, patchpelt had Graystripe and graystripes half bro is Darkstripe
Swiftpaw is related to graystripe which means his blood is still with us!

This is a true masterpiece, and this all flows so well. That one dislike is gonna get bit in the ass by Swiftpaw's ghost. This is stunning, and well worth the wait.

Thank you to all of its participants and to Sally for putting it together!!!!
This was so good and a way to remember what challenges swiftpaw went throught
I am very late to the party and I am aware of this la la la MOVING ON
While I was reading the books, I was injured in an automobile accident that disfigured me (although obviously not to the extent poor Brightheart went through), so this scene and the culmination of this arc was already important to me.
(Feel free to skip the rest of this comment, it's only tangentially related to the concept and not really to the video at all)
This summer I fostered two neonatal kittens.
