Dog People AND Scorpion People? Rad. Also the Possessed Weapon is super interesting. The feats are also fun, especially the “Make Throwing Weapons Actually Viable” one
More Moriae content, let's go! I knew I wanted a canine race but I didn't know I wanted the other three till you presented them to me. Already have some characters cooking in my brain now. Peak feats all around. Balanced, fun lore, and not all are combat feats. I know you probably won't ever make characters with your own homebrew on the channel, but if character sheets for the npcs or villains you make for Moriae to get some sample builds show up on paetreon I am all for it.
The "Possessed Weapon" lineage is simply fantastic...creative, quirky, and lots of backstory potential. I'm somewhat reminded of Matt Mercer's "Lingering Soul" class...specifically the "Poltergeist" subclass; though this is drastically easier to jump into. Weirdly, this had been something of a capstone for a "Sentient Weaponsmith" subclass for Artificer I had been cooking up: the Artificer imbues a weapon they create with a degree of personality, which could be based on their own...almost like the entirety of that subclass could be a backstory to a "Possessed Weapon". A Barbarian "Possessed Weapon" who loves to fight...a Paladin "Possessed Weapon" who failed to fulfill their Oath and perished; but through sheer will bestows their weapon with their vow to fight on...a Battlemaster Fighter whose Maneuvers are like their spiritual form of martial arts...lots of great class combinations.
I can see some strange hijinks with the Possessed Weapon race. First of all, would being a Hexblade Warlock cause some weird interactions? Mainly I just see the potential of being either an easily thrown weapon or having a party member that is good at throwing weapons, just looking over at them and saying "Throw me" before going back into the weapon, then coming out of the weapon wherever you land, a nifty little psuedo teleport. I just wish it was practical to throw yourself as the weapon, but I don't think the soul can teleport to the weapon, only the reverse.
The only Race option I'm iffy on is the Chrona-kin. Taking ten years off your 100 year life means if you use that one feature ten times in your life, your character is dead. Good setup for a heroic sacrifice though. Also, I'm really curious about the thought process behind having the Possessed Sword take damage when wielded. I assume it's a balancing choice?
I mean, it's not THAT surprise since there are only so many alliterative combos of words out there, but Arcane Armament is the exact name I gave to a warlock subclass I devised that's for when your patron is a sentient magic weapon. Neat!
I've been asking for videos on some of these characters for a while now and I'm still not giving up so here they are: Durza from the eragon book series, Dabi and Stain from mha, Death from Puss in boots: the last wish and Isaac Foster from angels of death.
Homebrew is always a treat for a system that sometimes is so poor on its own, i will never get how WotC thought that making their own fans it's enemies was a good idea, but from now on DnD 5e being supported by 3rd party seems like the way to go to not give money to a company that doesn't deserve it. im still interested in if you will explore other systems that cover different generes of games, but wherever you make it i will be thrilled for your Tangle the lemur build that you will surely give us soon (TM), keep the amazing work you good Sir.
Right?! You offer the base system, but then do nothing with it for so long that Homebrew is needed to flush it out and keep people invested And you attack the people keeping your game in the spotlight 🤦🏿♂️
Living Weapons?!? (looks at the Honedge line from Pokémon and my notes for my homebrew to play AS a Pokémon in D&D5e and PF2e) Although, for what I'm thinking, I may have to add a couple of feats... *No Guard* - User of this Feat ignores the negatives to their attack rolls for their specials, but their opponent also ignores similar negatives to any special attacks they have. *Stance Change* - User gains bonus to damage while attacking and bonus to AC when not attacking. It loses the other bonus in either case and bonus remains until beginning of next turn.
I love your homebrew and support you, but I have perhaps already made two dog species and posted them online, so I feel obliged to stick to my Houndier and Lupine
Ack... It's "Their" not "They're". "*Their* height, weight, fur and facial shape". Seriously, please hire me on as an editor. I work cheap and I need an inroads to becoming a RUclipsr for my niece.
Dude, switch to pathfinder. Why would you continue to support WOTC after all their bullshit and their half assed apologies. You make good content, make it for a better game system and more reputable company.

The worst sin of WOTC wasn’t the OGL disaster, but they haven’t ever given us a dog race lineage yet
It’s right there! It’d be so easy!
Hasbro hates dogs
Dungeon Dad did a video on the Lupin. You could use that
Shifters while being shifters, can still be canine.

There was one in the mystara setting, but there isn't any info on mystara in 5e.

I actually made a scorpion race called Kulipari, based it on Stinger from Kulipari DreamWalker

with the hand to hand fighting style and the arcane armament on an improvised weapon (a shield), a captain america build would be more viable.

Really like the take on possessed weapons
And Tulok addressing his arch enemy.....thrown weapons
I homebrewed a weapon once, a magic cane which could add necrotic damage on a critical hit. Player sold it as soon as he got it
A blessing in these trying times. Tulok be the real one
I love everything about Moriae. this was such a nice treat!!!
