    You’re mixing up Dobby and Trelawny with the bottle hiding. Trelawny hides her sherry bottles in the room, while Dobby finds butterbeer remedies and an elf sized bed for Winky.

      I honestly liked the idea of it being Longbottom that found that out as they did in the movies.
      Not only did it give him a little bit of a play in a book where he had very little influence but would also have his good grades in Herbology become pretty useful.
      Plus it did add a little to the polymorfed whatshisface as that didn't seem quite as risky as just hoping Harry could find it out himself or that he just so happened to be overheard by a house elf that were on Harry's side.
      Would also make the small talk he had with Longbottom all the more meaningful as in the books it just seems like a simple way to make sure that his disguise isn't seen through but in the movies it seem like he did it on pupose simply so that he could manipulate and use Longbottom to avoid getting suspicion on himself.
      ..Plus that "I just killed Harry Potter!" joke was rather funny.

I imagine that Mrs Weasley had washed it and hung it there to dry maybe? But also, in reference to the quizzes, they are usually based book knowledge unless otherwise specified, and that line is from the movie only. But still. Fred and George are also pranksters and could have shrunk her sweater and put it on the cat. Or could simply have meant that her sweater was lying ON the cat as it slept. But I wasn't aware they even owned a live cat as a pet. So. My thoughts. 🤣

    When "Moody" was telling Harry about how he was the reason Harry got through the tournament, he named off a bunch of things he did to make sure Harry figured things out, and he says that one thing he did, after he saw how much Dobby admired Harry, was to have a loud conversation about Gillyweed while Dobby could hear, because he knew Dobby would tell Harry. Unrelated to the video, but I had a suggestion for another Disney theory. What if Dr. Fecilier from The Princess and the Frog is the son/grandson of Mama' Odie? It would explain her age if he was in his late 40's early 50's. Plus they both use voodoo magic, and are known to be royals of their craft. Mama' Odie is described as the "voodoo queen of the bayou" and Dr. Fecilier mentions how "I'm a prince myself on my mother's side." You don't have to do it, but it was just a thought.

    Dobby was out looking for a job for, in his own words: "two whole years", but that simply isn't true. He was freed from Malfoy on May 29th 1993, the same day he killed the basilisk. The day Harry meets Dobby at Hogwarts is in early December 1994, which means that it was AT MOST a year and a half Dobby was without a job.

    • @tomuchcamoflauge
      @tomuchcamoflauge 4 года назад +7

      @@tomuchcamoflauge The difference between 1.5 and 2 years is 25%, which is fairly considerable. I would even assume a house elf knows the difference, so it would have made more sense for him to say "a year and a half" of even just "more than a year". I thought about it for a second and my immediate thought was that I was controlling a trolley on a track that navigates through a bunch of notes, files, and books, and every now and then I just have to remember which way to turn the track at certain parts and where to stop at to find what I'm looking for, instead of going past it to unrelated things, and when I realize I went past it or made a wrong turn, I have to find my way back to what I was looking for and remember how far back I need to go. Sometimes, the papers may have been put in the wrong spot, because it would just be something unrelated to what I was looking at out of nowhere, when they should be similar topics.

    The reason Dobby was so driven to help Harry is because during Voldemorts rein of terror house elves and some other magical creatures had been treated even worse than they had previously and in some cases worse than they are now. This is why other house elves who meet Harry (like winky) are also as happy to have met him as they saw his defeat of Voldemort as an end to the horrible conditions they had to work under. Although given how some of them are treated in the books I don't know how much worse it could have got. Thanks guys for the great videos

    My problem with question 15 is that the math doesn't add up. Dobby was freed at the end of Chamber of Secrets, around June 1993. However he arrived back at Hogwarts at the beginning of the school year in Goblet of Fire, early enough that he was able to assist Harry for the second task on February 24th 1995. This is a time period less than two years. Now it may have said two years in the book but it was clearly meant to be used as an estimate, so that information due to its factual inaccuracy should not be used in a quiz.
