FYI: The “Frosty” in frosty Christmas is in reference to the Rufus Scrimgeour and Percy ambush of Harry and the Weasleys while they’re at the Burrow. The love potion incident is on Ron’s birthday. Which I believe is in February or March. On question 16 its badly phrased. I think if it were “Who was Hermiones other choice to upset Ron?” You’d have gotten it. It’s mentioned at the Slug Party. Harry asks incredulously “You considered Smith?” And Hermione answers “I figured he’d annoy Ron the most.” ( or something along those lines, it is not verbatim) It’s after he’s with Lavender and they’re snogging all over Hogwarts and Hermione starts to avoid him. I have a question. According to the books and the movies when you truly love someone your patronus and theirs become the same(snape and lily the doe). Why then weren't Lily's and James' patronuses the same
exactly, Lily and James were meant for each other. Both James and McGonagall for example have identical patronuses to their animagi forms (James's is a stag and Minerva's is a cat) so I guess those are somehow connected and Animagus's patronus stays the same as his/her animal form. I would say that it's more common for a patronus to change when there is some sort of obstacle or a lot of pain for not being with the one you love, that's what happened to Tonks anyway when hers changed to a wolf after she fell in love with Lupin and he pushed her away initially when he found out she was pregnant, even though he loved her. That makes most sense to me, some sort of despair has to be involved
All of the comments above, also: The example we have for a Patronus actually *changing* because of love is Tonks, whose Patronus turns into a werewolf. We don't know what animal, exactly, Lupin's patronus is, but considering how ashamed he is of his condition, I *don't* think it's a werewolf, or anything wolf related. So Tonks' patronus didn't take the same form as the object of her love's Patronus. Lupin is actually one of the only people in the series who *can* summon a Patronus but whose Patronus we never see take an actual *shape* of an actual animal. Someone asks Harry if he can summon a *corporeal* Patronus, indicating that most wizards *can't* get their Patronus to take an actual shape. I don't think Lupin's Patronus is corporeal in the first place. I mean, look at how reluctant he is to teach Harry, he keeps telling Harry that it's really advanced and really hard. Lupin struggles to produce a Patronus *at all* and we might forget that because he's the first person we see summon one, and he's the person we see teach Harry, and Harry does really well, but just *look* at how weirdly awesome Harry is with his Patronus versus how little confidence Lupin seems to have in his own, or his ability to teach Harry how to produce one. Look at how quickly literally everone else who attempts a Patronus in the series is to pick it up, and produce *corporeal* Patronuses, which are supposed to be really impressive ... presumably because they're really hard/advanced. Look at all the Patronuses we *see* and then ask yourself why the *first* one we were introduced to is so vague. We know what form *Dolores Umbridge's* Patronus takes, but not Lupin's. Just kind of sit on that for a second. Tonks' Patronus takes the shape of a werewolf because *her* happiest memory changed, and centered around a werewolf. Snape's Patronus is a doe because Lily was the only happiness he ever knew...or let himself know... James' Patronus is a stag because his happiest memories are with the Marauders, Harry's Patronus is a stag, as well, but it doesn't take that shape until *after* he gets the map and can escape to Honeydukes with his friends, and the first time it starts taking that shape, it's not exactly fully a stag yet, it's mostly just the Prongs. It doesn't fully assume the form of a stag until after he meets the remaining Marauders, and has this really happy, hopeful plan to live with his godfather -- his happy memory/thought changed...or stabilized. My point in all of this is to say that the thing that governs a Patronus is *happiness* , not necessarily *romantic love* per se. They're just often conflated because they have so much influence over eachother...and tend to be governed by the same chemical in the brain -- oxytocin. :)
@@devanyehansen2162 wizarding world (I much preferred when it was called pottermore) says that remises patronus is a normal wolf, but he hates the reminder if it and so he produces an incorporeal form on purpose.

I got the one with a calendar of "fancy" hippogriffs because when I read the book I thought that hippogriffs are fancy enough just the way they are.
I love your videos, I’ve been following your Jay vs Ben religiously. Please never stop!!!
Thanks for all your awesome theories and everything you do.
Derek's laugh made my day lol
I am sick so earlier I was rewatching the frozen and Hogwarts J vs Ben and now I have a new one!
Good to hear! Hope you get better really soon!
It’s so much fun to watch these!! I get to stay home and relax and recover from midterms. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
where's the harry potter hanukkah quiz smh I want representation other than my boy anthony goldstein
When I say the thumbnail, I was like HAGRID!! ITS HAGRID!! Like a crazy person... I am...
The fact that i was able to answer the thumbnail question without even thinking about it scares me. I think i might have read the books too often.
Impossible
dededelete this I thought it was Flitwick and when it was on the multiple choice I thought it was him but Hager’s does make sense I think I remember that
👨🏼🎤 (that is a Harry Potter emoji)
Haha same here
There is no such thing as too much harry potter!!!
Q: what message did Dobby put on the socks?
Me: ThESe sOcks Are aMaZing!
These quizzes are always my favourite videos of yours. Well, those and theory videos!
"Snape looked like Christmas had been canceled." has been ingrained in my brain since my first read as such a perfect visual description
36/40, I only looked at multiple choice when you did so I’m quite happy with that but I have recently done a reread so it’s fresh in my mind, it’s funny hearing you talk about British things as if they’re so strange when I’ve grown up with them and it’s the most normal thing in the world to me (baubles)😂
That was a GOOD result!
Same though!😂😂
Ben's face lighting up like he just won the lottery is priceless 😂
I got 33. I might have a bit of an obsession.
(knocks down your rook on the chess board) "What did you fell over for?"
Well, it was pretty obvious... THAT'S wizard chess.
(three references in one post. You're welcome)
since dan vs phil is over, i need something new to watch X3
these quizzes make me realize how much I know about Harry Potter. And how much I love these books, they literally changed my life!😍
Yay Jvs. Ben. I really love this! I am taking some time to make sure I comment on all the channels that have brought me joy over the past year. Thank you all so much for your videos and your content. I love this channel and your videos always cheer me up.
17:03 I literally thought that before he said it! I smiled sooooo big when he said it for me!!! Thank you Ben!!
Lily and James' patronuses were the same. His was a stag, hers was a doe. They were both DEER to each other :)
All of the comments above, also:
The example we have for a Patronus actually *changing* because of love is Tonks, whose Patronus turns into a werewolf.
thank you everyone so much for the input keep the ideals coming
@@devanyehansen2162 wizarding world (I much preferred when it was called pottermore) says that remises patronus is a normal wolf, but he hates the reminder if it and so he produces an incorporeal form on purpose.
You’re friends voice who asks the questions is soooo soothing to me😍😍😂😭

I mean, I know what it is, but I love knitting and crochet, and that's *the* the sample pattern on literally all of the yarn labels.
...I really ought to have made myself one by now. I've made some pretty enormous scarves, but never any fundamentally triangular-shaped ones. Just the long, *loooong* rectangles.
As a Brit, the guesses of "Tripe" and "Crumpit" as types of Christmas food made me laugh so much 😂 also Ben.. it's crumpet😁
Okay but maroon and scarlet are different colors if we’re getting technical here! Also I knew baubles because when I was at Harry Potter world, I saw The Fat Lady, and I said “baubles” and she replied to me 😂
It's been a long time since anyone made me smile and laugh so much! You are the best guys! Keep up the good work! Ben killed me with his look when he "saw that" in the end!
A Frosty Christmas is where Harry meets Scrimgeour
I love the product placement with the sipping of the coffee... LOL! Great Marketing!
Can you please do more Pixar quiz videos?
I turned this playlist on the last 2 nights and fell asleep during the first video both times. Now all the questions sound familiar
