‘Outstripped by passing butterflies’ I believe is actually a reference to Ron’s old shooting star broom. Which may have appeared in book 4 when they get back from the quidditch World Cup
It was in Chamber of Secrets chapter 4 At Flourish and Blott’s- Harry, Ron, Fred and George got and throw apples at each other while taking it in turns to use Harry’s Nimbus Two Thousand on the day that their Hogwarts letter telling them what books they will need arrives
Half-blood Prince has always been my favorite book. Love how in-depth they go on the history of Voldemort, you get to learn so much they did not put in the movies.
I don't know if it is canon, but in the EA Quidditch World Cup game, after a goal, the keeper then throws the quaffle to a chaser on their team like a soccer goalie would. Thanks for making me laugh guys with this video. Injured my back and have been stuck in bed for a week so this lifted my spirits.
That was my assumption. Either the keeper does a "goal kick" to restart action or it would be another face off in the center. Or it could be the scored on team gets it from the center but has to start with a backwards pass like soccer. I'd assume something like that. I also thought there was a spell on the quaffle so it fell like through water at a certain point so the players didn't have to get it off the ground. I would assume that would activate right away though because it would mess up plays.

The outstrippt by passing butterflies line is from The chamber of secrets when Harry is at the Weasley‘s and they are practicing Quidditch. They took turns on Harry’s Nimbus as The Weasley’s brooms were often out stripped by passing butterflies.
Question 10 was really interesting, as it reminded me how much difference it makes whether you know a language or not when trying to remember some word. Iwas sure you would know the first Gryffindor password instantly because I did, while you always remember the smallest details I could never. However I had 9 years of Latin, so naturally I know what Caput draconis means (head of the dragon, as you guessed correctly; caput -> capital, as in capital punishment as a mnemonic). This also helps with other spells in HP and now I wonder how the experience of reading these books differed for people who know Latin and those who don't. Like, did you know from the beginning that the spells often were Latin or at least influenced by it or did you only learn that later? Did they feel random to you or did you still feel the words had intention behind them?

The "minimum" thing suddenly conjured up a memory in my head from 10 years ago when I was studying for the engineering entrance exams in India. I had already started a band with some friends while I was at this coaching institute. One day, I was, per usual, spectacularly failing answering questions correctly on a Chemistry exam and I came across a question where I had to write the words 'minimum' and 'aluminium' in the answer and I somehow noticed how crazy it was to write both words in cursive. Inexplicably, I was very excited by this (fast forward 8 years and I learned I have ADHD which may have something to do with how I reacted) and I yelled out to the band drummer, sitting 5 benches behind me, and showed him the words written out on my page in my jagged handwriting saying, "I got our album's name! Supercarlinbrothers is the only RUclips channel that I enjoy having ads in because they’re so funny and interesting. They just walk around and go in these weird positions and say these weird funny things 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻
I also got the chess question wrong, also though she was the bishop and Harry was the rook. But talking about the chess scene, in the book the pieces don't smash, so it's easy enough to see how the board reset after Quriell, but in the movie the prices are destroyed when taken, yet only 2 pieces are missing, Hermione's bishop and Harry's rook, implying that Quriell was able to check mate the white pieces only loosing those two pieces and not taking any of the white pieces. I know it's just visual, but still. Maybe I can stretch it to that the white pieces repaired themselves after a game, but since there are empty squares, I can't believe that the black pieces are repaired or replaces after a game.
That bugged me in the movie too. Not that the pieces were destroyed (because surely magic would bring them back), but that they basically had no choice in what pieces they were going to be because they had to fill the empty squares (and empty saddle) rather than the pieces moving aside for them, like in the book. This also brings up the question of whether or not Quirrell had to take a piece's place for his game. If those squares weren't empty, what did he play as? If they were empty, did he play two pieces down? Also, could the knight still play without a rider? They made some weird holes in the story for the sake of movie visuals.
Outstripped by passing butterflies is how Harry describes Ron’s broom at one point (I want to say goblet) when he was staying at the Weasleys during the summer. They were talking playing three on three quidditch and all taking turns on Harry’s broom because it was the fastest and they used that line to put it into perspective how much slower Ron’s was in comparison.
9:44 Maybe I was thinking Ron. My thought was maroon. 23:52 The captions are off. It said "Configuration" instead of "Transfiguration." 30:03- 30:13 That point was actually brought up in Quidditch through the Ages. Originally the answer was yes, but in time, the quaffle became enchanted so that it is easier to grab midair.
So have the first Harry Potter movie on as background noise and just realised the issues with the chess match at the end... Ron sacrifice was unnecessary and in chess rule illegal (for the queen to move) as by moving to attack it also opens the king to attack. So him move was not "check" it was in fact "Check Mate" as the king would fall to Ron or Harry and you can not move a piece if it leave the King open to check.
I love how the three chambers that lead to the hidden Mirror Of Erised and the Philosopher's Stone play to Harry, Ron and Hermione's strengths. Hermione: Knowledge of spells Harry: Quidditch Ron: Chess

Supercarlinbrothers is the only RUclips channel that I enjoy having ads in because they’re so funny and interesting. They just walk around and go in these weird positions and say these weird funny things 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻
I feel like J was at Bens Brain Desk for question 10.🤣
I'd finally have one more point than J! I have recently reread HP1. Normally I always loose to you guys. Love your videos btw!
11:58 it’s a thing but it’s said about Ron’s broom, chamber of secrets after Harry arrived at the Burrow.
We stan Riley 😂❤️🙌🏼
Thank you Thank you Thank you. Potter quizzes by J & Ben are the greatest!!!!
We also use rook and castle interchangeably in chess in the UK.
The conversation about butterfly speed gave me more life than I care to admit ._.
13:45 as someone who has been hit by a whipped caterpillar I can confirm IT HURTS! Similiar to a bee sting.
9:44 Maybe I was thinking Ron. My thought was maroon.
23:52 The captions are off. It said "Configuration" instead of "Transfiguration."
30:03- 30:13 That point was actually brought up in Quidditch through the Ages. Originally the answer was yes, but in time, the quaffle became enchanted so that it is easier to grab midair.
I'm pretty sure Hannah Abbot is a Huffelpuf in Harry's year. If they are sorted alphabetically shoudn't she be the first one sorted?!
11:56 "outstriped by a butterfly" is a describtion of ron's broom in Chamber of Secrets.
I think this quiz giver. You guys have good back and forth
The butterfly-outstripping actually is from Harry's stay at the Burrow during the intro to Chamber of Secrets.
I love how the three chambers that lead to the hidden Mirror Of Erised and the Philosopher's Stone play to Harry, Ron and Hermione's strengths.
Hermione: Knowledge of spells
Harry: Quidditch
Ron: Chess
28:38 Oh man, I can imagine the "No, no..." in J's voice :D
I love that "If you record the thing you give Riley the power to put it in there" keeps it real
19:00 WHAT A COMEBACK
I so missed watching your videos. this just made my day
@19:20 "Caput" as in being tired, exhausted, sleepy ;)
I like your video´s so much i wanted such nice brothers like you two it would make my live much happier
Vibrating too high, and talking about length? Anyone else dying of laughter right now?🤣🤣🤣
I haven’t read Harry Potter in a while and I’m reading a different series right now but I’m almost done with it so once I finish that series I’m going to start Harry Potter again!! I seriously haven’t read it in like…2..2 and a half years!! It’s been a really long time! Thankfully I’ve read it like four times total so these quizzes are still pretty easy for me but yeah!! I’m super excited about reading it again!!
25:24 - 25:37
You know I never realized, in retrospect with the knowledge that that's Peter Pettigrew, that's makes it 100 times more hilarious (from our perspective), and terrifying (from his). XD
One... Two... Five!
And butterfly air speed! So many Monty Python references!
That intro! haha Super JACKED Bro's
you guys are awesome! I started re watching HP bc i just finished rereading the books and now the Potter in Slytherin series has me rethinking everything lol. Now I really want movies made of your rewrite!
I also like your thesis of "Harry in Slyhterin." I wish you would re-write each film into Speculation Scripts & work to get a Legit Agent ! You guys are so creative.
Ben for Kvothe!🗡🧙🏻♂️ J for Elodin!🧙🏻♂️🗡 Team Ben all the way!
J fan disagrees! 😉
@@eyeballs1977 How about Team Buzzy B? 😉🐝
We don’t call the rook a castle, purely a Harry Potter thing 🤣 irl we call it the rook too
Hahaha it's the synchronized "ooh"s and groans for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The outstripped by butterflies line was from Chamber, when Harry went to the Burrow, they took turns on Harry's broom, and Ron's Shooting Star was described that way.
I remember reading Quidditch through the ages and wanting a Shooting Star, even though it was described like that lol
My ideal list
Albus Dumbledore: Jude Law
Minerva McGonagall: Emma Thompson
Severus Snape: Tom Holland
Rubeus Hagrid: Jack Black
