Fun fact: In the book Ron didn’t sit on a stone horse chess piece, he just was a knight. When he was taken out by the White Queen piece it actually pounced on him and punched him in the face.
I thought I remembered that differently. They act like he was murdered in the game.

I know it was like this in the first editions (I was always wondering what the heck that game was supposed to be 😂), once I read the original British versions I realized it must've been a translation mistake, right? So I wonder if it was changed in later editions? I never went back to the translations after switching to the original...

If I recall correctly the quil is super enthousiastic about writing down names based on the slighest hint of magic, but the book doesn't allow the quil to write in it until significant proof of magic is provided.

I know alot, about the art of dark magic, the hand's just a candle holder. The opal necklace, is also found, in the novels for the forgotten realms. I point this out, because of the fact that in that world, the opals in the necklace are from a cursed bag of gems. The curse, was put on them, by an enraged witch. Ironically, her name's morgana.

Fun fact I just learned recently - there's a deleted scene from the second movie, where Lucius and Draco go into Borgin and Burkes while Harry's there. Draco tries to touch something, and Lucius whacks his hand with his cane telling him not to touch anything. Well, apparently the fangs of the snake on his cane actually hurt Tom Felton (as far as Jason Isaacs knows it didn't draw blood, but he believes it did pierce the skin a little). They kept going, but the second they cut filming, Jason apologised to Tom, and Tom (who welled up a little from the hit) replied in a shaky voice "No no, it's okay, it's good for the scene."
That's such a cute story, he's such a dedicated little actor! Also I can imagine the shaky voice it seems so in character!

Fun fact: english is not my native language, and when reading the books in english, I was not steady in it, and I always read that game as «Exploding Snape» 😂 I could never picture what kind of game this was 😂
there is a misprint in one german edition of the first book (or it was translated wrong) and it actually says "exploding snape"... so you weren't that wrong haha

@@AxH_ I have chronic migraines as well, and it actually depends on the day and the person. Different people have different sensitivities. Didn't know that myself 'til I was diagnosed and had to fill out a questionnaire as to what makes mine act up 🤷♀️
Your complaint isn't even the weirdest thing about the two-way mirror. It's that there is literally no explanation for Harry having it in the movies. He just has it suddenly in Deathly Hallows - Part 1 and it's of equal relevance to the plot. How hard would it have been to have Sirius give it away in Order of the Phoenix?
Plus it was a broken shard that he carried out of heartbreak for his Godfather. He never used it because he didn't want Sirius to leave his safe place of security. Then when Harry finally tried it, it was too late...Sirius didn't die with his mirror on him. Would it have worked in the netherworld? And Mundungas sold it to Alberforth. And why do only headmaster's get living portraits? Or some random old battle axe like Wulburga Black?

This was one of the easiest quizzes l've ever seen you do. I got almost all of them right, and l'm usually stumped a lot.
I agree and there were a lot more Magical objects to vex these guys-Probity Prob's, enchanted coins, books from the restricted section (oh a Magical book quiz would be delightful), the Sorting Hat, the Goblet of fire...this quiz could have been much longer...
The only one I have wrong is "many moving planets" leaving out the hands on the watch. I consider those parts independent of the face.

In the movie the Weasley clock is shown with a Dentist setting which is weird cuz later on in the series Hermione says her parents are Dentists at Slughorns party and no one knew what a Dentist was.
Yea but the movies had to add so many little details, that I'm sure lots of them were contradicted in the books later.
I like to imagine that was Mr. Weasley's addition on the clock, like he thought dentists sounded amazing and wanted to go someday

I know this video is like 2 years old, but I just watched it, and a couple things that stood out was that one of the questions asked how many lives the Hand of Glory has claim, when it wasn’t claimed any, it’s the Opal Necklace that had killed 19 muggles. Another thing is that in the book, Ron doesn’t actually ride the knight piece, he just stands in its place just like Harry and Hermione do. The line in the book reads something like “The three pieces, as if listening to Ron, moved off the board to make space for them to play.
Fun fact: Big Ben is actually the name of the bell inside of the Elizabeth tower that sounds on each hour and not the name of the clock tower itself.

I've detected what I think is a wrong answer. The Hand of Glory claimed zero lives, it granted light from a torch/candle to the carrier of the hand only. Friend of thieves, etc. It was the necklace that had claimed the lives of 19 users to date (and was later used on Susan Bones [Edit: Katie Bell] by Malfoy).
Also, a Ben win! Well done, Ben! Now I'm going to have to start rooting for J. LOL

Don't know if this has been commented before but fun fact about Exploding Snaps: In the German version of the books this was mistranslated to "Snape explodiert" which literally means "Snape explodes" because someone got confused about Snap and Snape. It's my favorite bit of trivia about the books!

I always assumed Exploding Snap is just the normal 'Snap' but instead of reaching out to hit the deck when there's a pair, the entire deck explodes. Building card towers would just be another fun thing they do with the deck, not part of the game itself

I’ve been trying to tell Jay what exploding snap actually is for years and he’s never seen!
Snap is an extant British children’s card game, where you split the pack equally among the players and everyone takes it in turns placing cards face up in a pile in the middle until two of the same numbers get put down one on top of the other, and once you get a match, every player must yell “SNAP!!” and fling their hand onto the pile of cards. Whoever’s hand lands on the pile first gets those cards, and everyone continues putting cards face up in the middle until the next “SNAP!!” The aim of the game is to end up with all 52 cards.
Exploding snap just adds in the excitement of random explosions every now and then. And Ron just happens to be building a card castle out of the cards from an exploding snap pack at one point.

Funny how Ben is the Ravenclaw and J is the Slytherin, yet Ben is wearing green and has a Gryffindor cup, and J is wearing blue. At least J has the Slytherin mug. 😹
Snap is a card game of its own, in which players are trying to win all the cards. The books talk about Ron USING Exploding Snap cards to build a house, but also talk about people playing Exploding Snap, so I took at as two different activities, and assumed Exploding Snap was Snap with exploding cards.
Big Ben isn’t a clock, it’s the bell inside the clock (which is called the Elizabeth tower)

Technically, there is no gem encrusted into the sword of Gryffindor, a gem can be set, mounted, or even embedded into another object, but the word encrusted refers specifically to multiple objects covering over the surface of something larger.
