To me, a yard and garden are interchangeable with all the definitions you gave, and while I’d accept someone calling your definition of garden “a garden” I more think of the kind where you plant flowers, vegetables, etc.
Ok, so, in Britain we have both front and back gardens, they are everything that is either in front or behind your house. We’re also more likely to say “cut the grass” than “mow the lawn”, which I think clears up the lawn/yard distinction, as the lawn only refers to the grass

Here in the UK lawn isn’t really used unless you’re saying something like “I mowed the lawn” and yard isn’t really used to refer to your garden but can be used to refer to like a work yard, a junk yard or young peoples slang term for your actual house. The outside part of your home is your front and back gardens unless you have parking. If you have parking we call that the driveway the same as in the USA
As a British person I'd like to clear this up: a garden is a large area of land behind a house, usually detached or semi-detached, which includes grass and plant areas. A yard is the area behind a terraced house which is solely concrete or otherwise, ie, there isn't any grass. A lawn is simply a patch of grass, which can be in the front or back garden.

@@TheTytoGaurdian I don't know what you mean by pudding in the US. It must be called something different here.
@@puffpride8344 Okay so I looked it up and I think pudding to us is custard to you? Its that sweet goopy stuff that usually comes in chocolate or vanilla (and various other flavors).
The password to the slytherin common room was Pureblood I believe and I’ve been subscribed since J made the video discussing why Riley from inside out had male and female emotions.
Arthur’s patronus is a muggle
Video idea... What Pixar character would fit in perfectly in another Pixar movie. You guys rock
Pudding is an amazing word for desert, I've never been more offended in my life.
It’s a confusing word for dessert because there’s an actual food named pudding there’s not a food named dessert
@@gabis314 Isnt thT called american pudding though? i think the dessert word came first
@@cheerio3442 in the states we just call it pudding and until I read Harry Potter I didn’t know the UK called all desserts pudding which was confusing for me especially since most people don’t consider it dessert and consider it a snack
the whole debate over "lawn" vs "yard" vs "garden" will forever be amazing
(and bonus points for the cake pudding)
What was their a question about the weird Harry Potter fanfic?
It's not fanfic if Rowling herself co-wrote it
@@georgelloydgonzalez it’s still a fanfic
In Britain, the lawn is grass. The whole yard is the garden. The section of the yard that has plants is the garden bed or plant bed. Often a yard is paved over, concreted or gravel, like a dog run or kennel.
Britain and the US, 2 countries divided by a common language!
Nah, you guys are the ones who decide to call things weirdly. ;)
Oh, Nick, where do you think English comes from?
Funny enough, J put 37 galleons and 17 sickles which would equal 38 galleons lol 17s=1g
The only reason I know this is because in the sorcerer‘s stone in Diagon alley there’s a witch who is complaining that dragon liver is 17 sickles, and Hagrid explains in that same time frame the money
Also, the Japanese golfer joke is real and it’s not appropriate! 😂 assuming it’s the same joke
SCABBERS!!! I was hoping to see him on a video one day! Thanks Brothers!
I vote we name the plant Professor Sprout. Or Melvin the Mandrake.
The question about what Luna says muggles are wrong about - she actually said muggles are wrong about windchimes keeping away evil, not bad dreams ☺️
I didn’t read the title and thought this was a theory lol
That brother brain sync writing was so funny 😂 and all of the zooms at question 9. Love your edits Riley ❤
Since some time has pasted you guys should resort MCU characters! Made that suggestion a few years back and you guys did it (which was awesome). But maybe your opinion has changed since then? Thanks for all you guys do!
Embracing your quizzing spikes again I see
"This is just a weasel you can acceptably own without social judgment!"
Probably the best line in the whole video 🤣
You should do one of your own quizzes from the Trivia Live streams
As a British person I'd like to clear this up: a garden is a large area of land behind a house, usually detached or semi-detached, which includes grass and plant areas. A yard is the area behind a terraced house which is solely concrete or otherwise, ie, there isn't any grass. A lawn is simply a patch of grass, which can be in the front or back garden.
Having never read the cursed child or seen the play, it would still be interesting to see y'all do a Cursed Child quiz.
Oh my gosh! I laugh so hard when Ben said that the candle would smell like cockroaches!!
Does anyone else feel this? When both J and Ben say “Hey Brother” it is as if they are calling us into the Super Carlin Brotherhood! 😅
Hey Brothers!
I feel it.
Brothers!! Thank you for the fun content - work wore my brain out today, looking forward to playing along!
