Thank you 🤓👍🏻 Happy New Year.
Because of this video, I purchased this "travel router" changed user name/ password and now ready for travel/ thanks
Awesome 🤓👍🏻
Your work is really appreciatable
Thank you 🤓👍🏻
Not mentioned: "Bridge Mode" allowing apartment dwellers with a shared WiFi system to establish their own home network out of the Ethernet jack for tighter security.
🤓👍🏻
Hi, thanks for the information. I have a question, which 4G usb modems would you recommend for the ac750? Thank you very much .
Really sorry, I cannot recommend as I have not tested that functionality.
ok thx , as soon as i try one i will post the results here
there are only 13 specific usb modems it works with
Hi! I need an internet connection of at least 30 mbps for an online job, would this be a good and quick solution?
This relies on the speed of your internet service provider.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for another great vid, Do you know if you can connect an iPhone to this via USB and enable hotspot on the phone to feed the TP Link with internet?
Hello, I don't think this is possible.
You can set up the router as a repeater with the iPhone acting as the host.
So in a camper, would this work on its own or does it need a wired motem?
It needs wired internet.
So my room is far from my already installed home WiFi router and I’m unable to stream shows or play games. But with this, I can plug this into an Ethernet port that’s closer to my room and receive a stronger WiFi connection from this right? Also, will this add to the monthly cost of the WiFi I have already or is this a standalone free WiFi device?
Yes it should add another wireless access point. No extra fees.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for watching Daniel.
So in a hotel room situation that has ethernet on the wall, do you use the switch in "Share Etc" or "AP" mode, I assume share etc would be better as your creating another IP range but you could also be double nating
Sorry, I no longer have this to check.
Would you recommend buying one of these to put at my office desk and connecting it to my already existing router as an extender. Then plugging an ethernet directly from my laptop into this.
Or would you say buying a Dual Band Wireless Adapter would be more suitable? My main aim is to get faster speeds at the other side of the house without having the option of an Ethernet cable running through the whole house
(my laptop doesnt have dual band wireless card although when advertised it was meant to have one)
Currently im getting very unstable speeds on my 2.4ghz channel yet my iPhone has a very stable and fast speed on the 5ghz
I would recommend installing a normal range extender, or hard-wire a switch, or even install a mesh network. It depends on your budget.
Yea. just what geek said. If you are at a fixed office. Just get a real router to support your work loads. If you are traveling, then this would be a good router to use. Small, compact and yet powerful enough to serve your needs.
Can the USB port be used to connect External Harddisks ?
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Now that is a small router, seems like a great little device to have while traveling, I wonder how much smaller they will make these!
Great for student rooms too.
Hi, On the 5ghz side what channels does this support, I want to use it in client mode, but the original wifi router is on 100 Channel, and I dont have access to the main router. Cheers.
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Hello. May I use the Ethernet port the other way around? That is to connect to the wifi signals avialable and hook up my laptop to access the internet via cable only (not via the wifi network)?
No, this will not work.
I want to buy this and use it as a "full time" router at my home (to feed my smart TV, laptops, mobile phones and tablets). is it possible? By "full time", i mean that the router will be plugged to electricity and WAN Ethernet connection ALL the time, just like a regular router. is there any difficulty / problem with that?
Should work fine.
Sounds like a great device thinking about purchasing it later and I won't have to pay monthly payments right? All I'll need is the 3g or 4g dongle for hotspot connection.
This connects to existing internet via Ethernet.
Please tell me can I use this as a media server for my iPad 9.7
I'll connect the router with a harddisk and could watch content without downloading it?
No this will not work.
does this require being plugged in for wifi usage or is it actually a wireless wifi device?
Plugged into Ethernet and power.
@@geekanoids Wrong, this can be used in many modes such as a bridge, access point, router, WiFi Extender and has a hotspot mode.
Does this work as Bridge as well? in case where you don't want to Pull a Cable, But catch your Own Wifi and convert back to Ethernet cable?
Sorry I am not sure on this.
My home WiFi lags because of the pandemic that’s happening and many in the city are using the WiFi and are making the severs lags I get a lot of packet loss and my games are unplayable if I buy this will I have the same problem?
Yes I think the same would happen. I am currently experiencing it too.
Can I plug an antenna into the USB slot to enhance WiFi connectivity or is that slot strictly for USB dongles/modems?
This is not possible. It’s Ethernet only.
So this can just be plugged in with power and an Ethernet to the wall and its working wifi? The ISP and setup at my home is aging and unoptimized, and this seems like a quick fix for getting instant internet. If my current internet is a mess, could I just plug this in to a spare Ethernet socket in my house and have a whole new network?
Yes, that is correct.
Is this worth the price difference from the TL-WR802N? Planning to use on a 7-night cruise to share a single device license among multiple devices.
There is not a lot in it.
can you make video for port-forwarding on this product on client mode. or work port-forwarding on different operating mode?
please replay
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Would you recommend this for PC gaming? I play a lot of games but live in an area with poor service. Just lookin for some internet options.
This is Ethernet only so will not improve things.
Just placed an order thru the web. Is the router reliable or do I need to open it and put an extra heat sink like my Linksys (Belkin) Router so I don't have to reboot it once a day? In short, Can I keep it "on" for at least 5 days without rebooting and continue to work?
We had ours on for a whole year without issues.
Geekanoids what version are you using ? V1 or V3?
Can I forward ports on this device?? I would need a few ports to be forward. Would love to know before I buy.
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Hi I’m in school now and need it for online classes. Would this be good? Does it need a Sim Card?
It needs existing Ethernet and to be plugged in.
Can I plug this straight into my hotel Ethernet and create my own network? I only ask as the hotel WiFi has a really complicated log in screen which some of my devices can’t handle
Yes that should work.
Do you have to be grounded? I would like to use this In my car
This needs to be plugged into Ethernet so would not work in a car.
@@geekanoids Or 4G USBs. ;)
@@engMohamedAshraf88 I'm a truck driver. A friend recommended me this so I could be able live stream games in the truck. I can play online no issues with the version hotspots on my phone. I just want to live stream..
@@devinbrown6650 what do you use to play online on the road?

Hey brother i have a question please reply me. Can i connet this router with my main router by waln port and use hard drive as my personal storage? ( my main router does not support any hard drive)
Hi. I don’t think that would work. I should add that I no longer have this to check. There may be an updated version.
In my locality signal is poor but in one corner of my room network is great...so can I buy a 4g modem and plug in this device and keep the whole setup there and use internet? Or should I go for tp link mr 100 4g wifi router with sim slot....
One last question brother that after pairing 4g modem does the rj45 port also gives output? Means can I use it to connect my pc??
Thanks in advance brother 🙂❣️
I would look at 4G routers with Ethernet built in, instead of mobile routers.
If I connect my phone to the 4g port does that mean I can use the hotspot on it through the nano router to multiple devices?
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
So I have comcast as a service provider but if it goes off because I live with a family I want my own personal connection for gaming think this is a viable option?
This connects to existing Ethernet.
Do you need a wifi modem for this also do you need an internet service provider for this or does it come with wifi
It plugs into Ethernet and creates WiFi.
Is it possible to connect a iPhone hotspot to the extender and use it as WiFI network for HomePod Mini's?
Sorry I am not sure on this.
@Geekanoids What was the monthly fee for this or is a free wireless port?
It uses existing internet via Ethernet.
Can I use this at a hotel via Ethernet? I’m going to be here for a couple months and need an Ethernet connection which I believe this provides but I’m having trouble figuring it out
This should work fine for your intended use.
can the USB port be used for external outdoor antenna like my Alfa r36?
I don’t think that would work.
will this work simply as a wireless router.! meaning straight ethernet cable from internet port to this router and power source. If so what mode should it be in..! thanx again
Yes. Existing internet via Ethernet into this unit provides wireless.
Hello if I were to purchase this device could I use it as a wireless hotspot and would I have to pay for monthly internet service in order to have it function?
There would be a monthly cost. This plugs into Ethernet on an existing service.
Is there any portable hotspot that you don’t need a SIM card for? Im trying to connect my phone to wifi while I’m out of the house, because parents deactivated my sim card.
I only know of ones that need a SIM card.
Just got mines dope vid 🔥
🤓👍🏻
Would this work ina place with zero wifi connections for context i work at a rural post office and there isnt any wifi just a wired Ethernet connection but im not supposed to mess with or plug anything into it
This should work fine for what you describe. It requires Ethernet based internet to plug into.
Does this allow you to plug into your computer via Ethernet cable to establish a wired connection, using a mobile hotspot??
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Yes, it does.
Im just moving into a new home. The previous owner says - Internet services providers are AT&T or Comcast Xfinity. Im not interested in using either of those. Will this device work or do I have to use one of those two companies?
Thank you for your time.
This is used as a wireless extension of existing internet. You would still need internet service.
Is this good for gaming? And do I need a pc to set it up? I'm currently living in a motel and want to play Xbox with my buddies but I can't get my own wifi here and the wifi here is shotty at best.
It would work for gaming if the hotel has good internet. Sorry too long ago to remember the setup requirements.
Will it tether to a iPhone dire tly via USB and is thee a easy to do so with ethernet support so I can just get in plug in phone instead of aditionL plan
This is Ethernet only.
Cool but I'd like to see more of the configuration process.
Thanks for your feedback.
Do you know if it needs to be plugged in too use?
It does need power.
Could you plug your iPhone into this and turn on tethering via usb?
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Is it dual band? And can I use it as a range extender and also plug a hard drive to access it over network ??
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
@@geekanoids ohh its ok thanks anyway buddy
A question: I have a pc with ethernet. Can I plug it between pc and the ethernet connection so that I have ethernet AND a wlan network?
I am sorry I have not tested this, but not sure it would work.
Hi, what's the transfer rate with usb hard drive plugged in over wifi? (as NAS ideally), my smaller alternative device says 150Mb wifi (link speed) but the max speed I'm getting is around 45Mb a second
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
The USB port on the TL-WR902AC is USB 2.0 and that would be the bottleneck for a NAS attached to it not the wifi network speed.
no worries
would have thought to have speed with speed, not bottlenecked, thanks for the info
Sir i need your advice on tp link mr3020 and wr902ac , is both of them are same can i use my huwaei 3g dongle on both and share me internet using rj45 to my desktop
Sir plz plz reply me as soon as possible
I will be very thankfull to you
Thankyou
There are several questions here that are not completely answered. I must add that I have not received mine yet but doing research and reading the manual I have found that with this travel router you can:
1) Connect it to a wired connection and use it as a regular router with connecting your devices wirelessly.
2) Connect it to a wifi network wirelessly and connect your devices to it wirelessly (like in a motel room supplied wifi where there is no hardwire ethernet).
3) Also connect it to an existing wifi network wirelessly and plug in a device into the LAN port of this router for a wired access.
4) It does work to connect a hard drive to it and have access to the files from connected devices (NAS setup)
1. Yes.
2. No.
3. No.
4. No.
@@geekanoids
Wrong! He is correct on ALL of these!
All of these things DO in fact work!
@@geekanoids WRONG AGAIN
It can do all 4 things.
Do you recommend any portable router i can use to travel in my RV but continue to work remotely ? 🤔
I would look at this ruclips.net/video/5NUKYWRTCvM/видео.html or one of their newer models.
@@geekanoids would this work for desktops that requires an ethernet cable?
is it rechargeable? or power cable always has to be connected in order to use the router?
Has to be plugged in.
@@geekanoids ok, but how then it is travel or portable and using on the go in the street if it doesnt work without power connection? :D
How much power does it consume? I'm thinking of using a powerbank to power this while travelling. Great video!
I do not know the exact answer to that, but would imagine a power bank might work.
I used to keep this router(with LTE modem inserted into it's USB port) for around 12-16 hours with 8400 mAh power bank. It's quite handy on the go or during power failures.
Router itself is very power efficient but LTE modems can be pretty power hungry. I noticed that using 2 amp USB charger(1A would probably be okay as well) made this router much more reliable under load while LTE modem could frequently drop connection while using default 0.5A power brick.
How good is it? Does it connect with other modems?
Very good. Ethernet only.
is this a good device for live streaming by connecting the ethernet cable to the device and into the tv? and would this be a good device for my playstation i do intend on using and ethernet
This needs existing broadband connectivity and connects via Ethernet to create a wireless access point.
I need 2 or 3 ethernet ports. Is it possible to create an ethernet hub? Could I use the ethernet cable that can be plugged into the router as a extension to an ethernet splitter?
I am not sure on that, but it might work.
Hi! Our current wifi has a limit to connect up to 5 devices only. Can I use this as wifi extender or hotspot to let me connect up to more than 5 devices? Thank you.
This would work if you can plug it into Ethernet.
@@geekanoids how? Can you please help me?
It plugs into Ethernet and creates a new WiFi access point. Full instructions inc inside the box.
I live in a hotel and the Wi-Fi sucks can I use this to boost my hotel signal in my room? Or how does that work
Yes, so long as the room has an ethernet socket, you can use this to create your own personal Wi-Fi.
can you use the wifi capability and lan port simultaneous? thank you
WiFi only.
I use my laptop when staying in hotels. One of the problems I often have is a poor wi-fi signal due to the location of the room. Would this gadget improve the signal or do I need a different device?
So long as the room has Ethernet this would make a big difference.
I believe that you can actually use this as a range extender so probably yes.
@@geekanoids the room does not have ethernet.
@@inquistive The prescribed way to support this is to connect to the hotel wifi with your laptop, and then enter the acknowledge info on the web page. Then disconnect from the hotel wifi, connect to your router wifi and select MAC clone under Network. This makes the router temporarily use your MAC address from your laptop. So when you choose Quick Setup, the hotel host already has your MAC address stored, so you don't get the web page login. It works great. I use it all the time at hotels.
@@BrockGrimes Hello, I've tried what you mentioned on the TL-WR902AC in Share Hotspot mode with absolutely no luck. I did go to Network>MAC Clone then over there clicked Clone MAC address...if I see my status I can see my WAN MAC address is the same as my phone, and I do the quick setup but nothing changes. The connection cuts a bit then back to that annoying "no internet connection" warning sign....any other suggestion? No Ethernet available only wifi ..thanks ..
Does this come with its own internet and are you able to have a service like xfinity connected to this , and if it does come with its own internet is it fast enough to live stream at 720p
No, you plug into existing internet.
Think of it as a shrunk down version of a home router , except it has the functionality of a pocket wifi via its USB port :)
Sir, I need modem which is good in low signal area and must supoort sim. Can you please help me to find it....
TP Link have some great mobile routers on their website. Best to check out their range.
This looks great but let’s say I’m traveling with the trailer and park somewhere for the night without electricity....this doesn’t work does it? Is there something out there that creates WiFi so I don’t use all my data? I’m not geeky at all so have no idea. Great video and appreciate your time and review. Thank you.
The only solution would be mobile broadband, something like a MiFi, so extra monthly cost.
Thank you for your reply, I was afraid of this but your time to respond is appreciated.
If you don't require internet and just want to transfer pictures or films off your phone or tablet into a storage device wirelessly there are devices that create a non internet local wifi network that are self powered with rechargeable batteries.Check out the IOGEAR MEDIASHAIR HUB I find it damned handy when on vacation.
i have an ethernet port in my room, to get it running do i just have to plug it in and follow the instruction manual from there?
Correct 👍🏻
What mode would work for trying to connect to a ps4 via wireless or can I connect the internet cable from the tp link to the ps4?
This plugs into existing ethernet based internet and creates your own Wifi access point.
You can also use the Hotspot Sharing mode if you paid for an Internet connection for one device. You first connect the router to the WiFi, then connect a phone, tablet or laptop to the router to fill out the form on the captive WiFi page, then you can connect as many devices as you want through your nano router.
Hi sir, does this type support sim? I need one, but may you prescribe the type that can support sim. Thank you.
No this does not have a sim slot.
Thank you very much.
I need a device to connect me to wifi while my phone is in airplane mode when I'm traveling abroad. Don't need to be connected to wifi while in a hotel/at home, mostly when I'm out and about and may need to get an Uber. Would you recommend this device for that purpose?
Airplane mode has been designed to turn off WiFi, so as far as I know it will not be possible.
@@geekanoids So, this router needs to connect to modem just to get wifi?.. cant I bring it with me while driving in my car?..
can i connect this to my xbox one for better internet? because my home internet has double NAT and isn’t very good.
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Can I use this in my dorm room? My smart tv is not connecting to the school’s wifi
If you have a connected ethernet socket in your room, this should work.
Could I use this for my phone? I have a hotspot just no wifi hooked up at all. Thanks.
This needs existing internet and an Ethernet connection.
I just want to run a Keynote presentation for a church service using an iPhone as a remote for another iPhone where no WiFi is available. Would this provide the connection?
It needs to be plugged in to Ethernet.
Do you have to pay for the internet monthly, or pay anything at all?
This connects to existing paid internet.
Can this unit connect to wifi and convert to eithernet?
No, only the other way around.
Do you need a service carrier for this device to work on ur phone ?
This connects to existing internet via Ethernet.
Im staying in a hotel for a few months, with this router would I be able to connect to the WiFi Wirelessly (without ethernet, as the hotel room doesn't have ethernet cables in the roomd) and then connect an ethernet from the router to another device?
This needs an ethernet socket to plug in.
Geekanoids hi! So this device can not connect to a wifi network (with or without captive portal) to repeat or boost its wifi signal?
Can this be used to just extend a private network (like 192.168..) so instead of plugging my pc to a port i can connect this into the port and set it up so that my pc will connect to that network via wifi and this router? or will those two network be separated completely?
Pretty sure they will be separated.
Yes, you can access the other network via this in 'client-mode'!
hi, i have a few questions as to how it works. My internet at home isnt the quickest, its from 10 to 15mbps. From the website of the products it mentions 300 mbps and up to 430. Please could you explain or give advice us to how this devices can improve my online experience. I am looking for 30 or 40 mbps. Or is it dependent on the wifi plan
It won’t improve wireless.
So if you have no service at all, and ur outside like a park, school, hotel…all you need is a TP-link and your good with service and stuff? In that case imma order it ASAP
You need existing Ethernet and internet for it to work.
I’m a Over the road truck driver who uses a mobile hotpot device from Verizon would this be compatible with an mobile phone or hotspot
This would not work it requires Ethernet connection. I would consider this ruclips.net/video/5NUKYWRTCvM/видео.html
Can this connect to a phone's wifi hotspot and then act as a router to broadcast a second SSID/wifi network? So have it's WAN be another wifi network and then provide it's own wifi network?
This works via Ethernet only.
My router don't have usb port. can i use this as a nas storage without hotspot. Thanks in advance 😊.
Sorry I don’t think that would work.
Can this be bridged to your phone hotspot and use it for a internet connection.
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Does it need to have a wired connection with the device
Yes.
If I have a wifi usb stick can I stick it in to this and it will work? Instead of plugging it in via Ethernet?
This is Ethernet only.
Do u need to put a sim card or somat how does the wi fi come?
It connects via Ethernet with existing internet.

How is the range and signal strength in a small room
Very good indeed.
Is it possible to connect a USB hard drive and access data over the network, also would it be possible to use a small USB hub and have hard drive and 4g dongle connected at same time
I do not think this is possible.
LEDE Project has support for the device so you can do just about anything you want with it now.
Do you have to pay a monthly fee or anything besides the thing itself?
This does not take a SIM card. It connects to existing internet via Ethernet.
