  • In this quick walk through I show you how to setup the TP-LINK AC750 Travel Router (TL-WR902AC) to share a hotspot (or wifi) connection across the network that the device creates. I use this setup with my photo booths and sharing stations so that I have a wifi connection when on location.
    Router: amzn.to/3SZY1dv

    It will work with a public wi fi network that requires login via captive screen. You have to clone the MAC address from the laptop to the router. The setting is on the left pane

    Thank you for the video instructions. Will selecting public wifis at hotels/cafes following your Quick Setup instructions now make my internet access safe and secure? In other words, even though the hotel's host network is not secure for guest login, will setting it up like you showed in your video create a new and secure wifi network? Is this one major reason why a person would want to use a travel router like the TP-LINK AC750 to create their own wifi network and connect it using a public/unsecured host wifi?

    • @photoboothinfocom
      @photoboothinfocom  Год назад +2

      Hello. Thanks for watching the video. Yes, this setup will create your own secure WiFi network. Along with what you pointed out, another benefit is that if you have multiple devices that need to be networked together, this will allow that. Some public networks block devices seeing other devices.

    Ok so it seems I misunderstood the purpose of this device. I thought it would be its own wifi source with no other connection needed but i guess thats not true. What it does is takes a connection that you need access to and makes it stronger for you? If im on the go what type of connection would i always have access to, optimum hotspot?

    • @photoboothinfocom

      You have a basic misunderstanding of terms. This creates a wifi network. Not all wifi networks are connected to the internet. This device will create a secure wifi network to allow your devices to communicate. This device also has the ability to connect to another wifi network (with internet) or to a hotspot to share that internet across your wifi network. I don't know what the best internet service would be for your area.

    • @guillermoiglesias3065

      @@photoboothinfocom Hello! I think I have the same misunderstanding of terms. I am watching your videos to being able to use luma share without internet connection due to in many places that celebrate weddings, there is not internet connection. So, reading your comment, this would create a network between my mac mini (without internet connection) to my iPad (used as luma share station for example, without internet connection), allowing this way to send the pictures and gifs from my mac mini (luma booth) to my iPad, allowing this way the guests to download the photos and gifs even with no internet connection? This way I haven't to use my mobile phone as hot spot. is it that? Thank you very much.

      The router does not provide an internet connection or use a service provider. For this router to have internet, you need to connect to a hotspot or wifi network that has internet.

  • @classifiedrestricted6547
    @classifiedrestricted6547 6 месяцев назад +1

    So you cannot use this wifi device unless you already have WiFi in the first place. Isn't that defeating the purpose of getting this item in the first place??

    • @photoboothinfocom
      @photoboothinfocom  6 месяцев назад +2

      No that is not how this works. This creates a WiFi network that your devices can use to communicate.
      If you want that network to have Internet, the router can also connect to another WiFi network to share that internet, but your devices stay on its own WiFi network.
      Imagine if you go somewhere that charges a fee per connected device for internet. You can connect the router (1 device), but that router will share that internet to many other devices using its own WiFi network.

      I am a little confused. You can connect this to a shared wifi, and you can connect your computer with a wire to this router, but that does not mean you will have a wired connect to the primary shared internet source. If you want to connect this router to your hotspot instead of the shared wife, you can do that easily through the setup.

    hello
    I'm from Brazil and I follow your channel. I'm starting with lumabooth and I found your video teaching how to configure a router. My question is: after this router configuration, do I just need to take the router to the event and plug it in, or will I need some active internet at the event location? At the moment I use internet from my cell phone to share qr code in online mode but it takes a long time to create the qr code. I'm looking for a solution for offline but I don't know how to do it.

    • @photoboothinfocom
      @photoboothinfocom  Год назад +4

      You would want to connect to your cell phone hotspot or the venue internet to use the router to share the internet. If you want to do OFFLINE QR Code sharing, take a look at LumaShare along with LumaBooth. Look at this video: ruclips.net/video/iQ2HpQ7Zxfo/видео.html In that setup, you would use this router to create the network and Lumashare would allow guests to connect to your network and then scan a qr code to save their file with no internet needed.

    Hey boss, just to make sure I’m understanding….
    If I buy this Router, I can take it most places with me, and it’ll give my laptop a network to join to receive WiFi?
    Also, can I straight up take a Ethernet cord from the router to my laptop and it’ll give it network?

    • @photoboothinfocom
      @photoboothinfocom  Год назад +5

      Yes, this will create a wifi network for you and yes you can use an ethernet cord to connect it directly to your laptop. To be clear, this does not provide it's own internet, it simply creates it's own wifi network that can also connect to another wifi network or hotspot to share internet. For example, if you are in a hotel with multiple devices that you want to network together, you can use this router to create your own private network, and still connect to the hotel to share their internet to your private network.

      @@photoboothinfocom awesome info! So this is my concern.. the WiFi at my job(s) are too weak for my MacBook. Do you think buying this would give it better signal/strength for my MacBook? As in, will it run faster while this router is connected to my jobs WiFi?

    • @photoboothinfocom
      @photoboothinfocom  Год назад +2

      @@DrFinesse7 It's possible this could help. I would suggest setting up this travel router in a spot that gets stronger signal to your job's wifi. Then from there you can connect your macbook to this router. You would be using this router as an extender to give yourself a better connection. If there is nowhere in your office area that has a stronger signal, then it will be more difficult for this to be a benefit.

      @@Daniel-yg9sf It's just the first device that you connect while setting up the router will have to to login. Hello. This router does not provide internet service. This provides a stable wifi network to connect devices.
