How to get more views EASILY? 1- Longer videos (10+ min) 2- Increase Audience Retention (with Hooks, Pattern Interrupts) 3- Make better and eye-catching Thumbnails
Hi Tim, I trust all is well. I am still new to RUclips, have started this without having much of technologic knowledge, don't even know how to take photos or videos properly. Therefore my only choices was to watch endless RUclips influencers videos to gain knowledge, some of them did help marginally but they don't give away information easily and the others constantly try to sell something. Today I watched 3 of your videos so far, YOU ARE MAGNIFECIENT, very generous with your knowledge and the efforts you put in to explain thing is incredible, cut the long story short, every beginners should watch your channel. THANK YOU, Kind regards David
Would love to hear your views on where you think thumbnail design might go in the future. Are there any trends you can predict on how things might change?
I think the "experiment" advice is very helpful. I am still pretty new at this and already can see how changing things up can make a big difference in audience retention and CTR. Thank you Tim!!
I use about ten seconds at the end to pitch the next video but it looks like right when my end screen shows up, about 20 seconds left, people leave. Should I use the full 20 second end screen or shorten it?
Hello! I'm from Brazil. I'm a Psychiatrist and I'm subscribed to your channel. About keeping people on the channel, using the final screens, I would like to know *about the ads that appear before the final screens.* I know how to manage them, but do you have any suggestions? The content on your channel is very good! Greetings from Rio de Janeiro!
Dan Pirchner The thing is subscribers doesn’t matter anymore. RUclips don’t notify everyone.actually few subscribers watch your videos. Watch your analytics- 90 percent no subscribers and 10 percent your subscribers.
A detailed video on the new analytics and how to get to certain specific items.with the old analytics I could find everything I wanted. Now there are things that I can't find no matter how much time I spend on them. Just a simple detailed tutorial on how to use the new Google analytics.
Thanks Tim & team - And one other way to grow your audience is to send your new videos out on your email list. That's how I learned about this video. These are awesome tips. I've been struggling with getting off a plateau that I've been on for more than a year. And yes, I'm going to try and experiment with my videos to bump my channel to the next level. Thanks for showing us the way. All the best, Cheers Rick
Love this!!! I have done some experimenting! I’m coming up very soon on #100!! I’ve just passed my year anniversary creating content (Jan 19)!! Thanks so much!!👍🏻
I know it may sound weird but I would like to see a video on you analyzing someone's retention graphs, what to look for and what to avoid. If you need someone just let me know =)
How would you say someone who does tutorials (say, crochet) should read audience retention? The reason I'm asking, crochet tutorials by nature have people pausing, rewinding, coming back later when on the next row, etc. So how should I be reading my graph for audience retention?
Just so you know, though maybe I'm different from the majority, the more action, motion, and quick cuts a video has the more likely I will skip through a video and, for most channels, if it doesn't stop leave because it makes me dizzy. Vlog style camera holding is dizzying as well. If I think there could be content to listen to I may not watch just listen, rather than change channels. As I do if it gets too much for me here, I still listen.
Yeah, some people don't like it at all. Dizzying is very different from a fast pace, though, IMO. And it doesn't keep 100% of all people, so some people will still leave, maybe like you and even leave because of it.
Well, I have vision problems and whatnot, so that stuff bothers me more. Fast paced often equals flashing to some like me, but you need to help your channel as well by doing what helps you grow. I only mentioned it because of the part you mentioned about it working for your channel. I wanted to provide feedback as it’s not something a lot of channel owners may notice. In doing so, I wanted you to know though, that for your channel, as I value your help and info with both of our channels, even if I can’t watch I still listen. ;0)
SO enjoying your information!!! l'm STILL learning about my analytics!!!! l barely knew what l was seeing, but l kept at it and Googled stuff and asked questions and let YOU guys teach me!!! Thank you!!!! ✨✨✨👍💕
Yep I look for playlists on channels so I can find and see the groups of things I am interested in . Especially if they have been creating for a long time and have a huge library it is overwhelming. Sometimes the search does not find them and you have to reenter after the end of each video
We get about 30 - 60 views on average but our audience retention is good considering its people who really like the content. We've shifted out content recently to focus more on our day to day stuff for our core audience and then we will start to make more search friendly content / content that aligns with some bigger channels in our niche if its something we decide we would like to do and that fits our channel.
Getting clicks as a whole seems to be the issue I am having. I feel like I do fairly good thumbnails, I just cant seem to get my vids ranked enough to even get seen.
Rexx Reviews that is easy. First RUclips promote big RUclipsrs and then you small RUclipsrs. I get 15-20% through rate. The thumbnails help a bit,but not too much. People look on your numbers first and they associate numbers with quality. Just a few subscribers, the channel must be crap. She or he has 100.000k, he or she must be very good.
Rexx Reviews I am also getting subscribers, but I don’t know if they care about me. They leave comments like great content. You are skilfully with foreign languages. You are talented. I only speak English etc.
These are some really awesome tips...a lot of substance 🔥. Just discovered your channel 😊. Currently at about 250 subs...hoping to grow to serve more people. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏻
P.S. The audience retention graph tip is something that I haven't heard anyone talking about in that way before. You should talk with a few creators about how they do this and recognize the patterns over time. This is such a useful tip
Looking back at your thumbnail for this video, it was the graph that intrigued me. It sparked my interest, probably because I'm always looking at my graphs and that one was 'Wow!`
Can you guys actualise how to get views? Because subscribers don't matter any more. They do not get the notifications. I know a big change to the algorithm happend again. Any one else can relate to this?
As a new creator, I’m just now learning how to interpret some of my analytics.😅 I seem to have a high-ish CTR, but low views. I think I will try some experiments using info from analytics. Thank you for sharing this helpful video! 👍🏼✅
Thank you so much for your tips! I’m having a problem though. My end screens keep getting erased. It’ll be there when I put then on and on the first day, but the next day, it’s gone. Any idea why it keeps disappearing?
It's about creating titles and thumbnails that get people to click, delivering content that holds their attention, and then getting them to watch more at the end.
@@VideoCreators this one i know because if CTR is high, the more RUclips pushes, but i guess my question is during the first few hours from when the video got uploaded. thank you!!
Tim, I am probably just a few weeks from starting my channel and have been studying yours, Think Media and many others for the past months (just subscribed to yours!). You do a great job! Better than most! Which sparks my question. You have a half million subscribers and yet your average views per video seem to run below 10,000. Meanwhile, you have immeasurably assisted numerous clients in elevating their channel performance. Seriously, what are YOU doing wrong? And, again, for the record, I can't think of a thing. You deserve better. Do you have any particular theory as to why you are not getting it? Hoping for better for you...
@Richa Prasad, what does your data say for your channel? BTW, you can add four end screens at the end of your videos. I've recently been using 2: one is a playlist, and one is what RUclips recommends.
@@First1000Hours I haven't run an experiment on this. I always use the Best for Viewer card only, so I don't have data to compare. Before I run this experiment, I was curious what @videocreators has found from their treasure trove of channel data. Is it always bad? Sometimes? Then in what context? Would rather not "reinvent the wheel" if you know what I mean :)
@Rica Prasad, I would be interested in the data as well. After I posted my comment, I remembered that Tim likes to have focused calls to action in his video. Instead of wanting a video to encourage users to do a multitude of different things, he encourages people to let each video to have a specific focus. That's probably why he only has 1 end card in this video. I guess when there are less options, people are more likely going to actually click on the end screen. I might need to run some end screen experiments on my channel this year as well.
Man do i wish that one day people will make a real movie called "RUclipsrs“ and this will be the plot: The story will be about a young girl named Lena who won a ticket for VidCon. There she meets her favourite RUclipsr. He tells her all about RUclips, what he has do to for a living. Lena is absolutely amazed! At home she tells everyone about it and changes her entire life goals in a matter of seconds. Although her family doesn‘t understand the whole thing and is not supportive at all. They think that she will hang around the house all day doing nothing, being lazy, getting up at 11am every day. They only support her in school, which saddens her a lot. Her friends are very supportive though. They tell her that she was born for this, that she can suceed in this. One of Lena‘s classmates named Madison, with which she is not best friends, has exactly the same dream. When she discovers that Lena has the same passion as her, Madison decides to walk up to her and decides to try to convince Lena to work with her. Lena accepts and the 2 spend the morning and noon breaks everyday to disguss everything, as they wanna start a channel together. Over time they become best friends, meet on a daily basis and take an endless number of notes about their channel. Eventually they started writing a sitcom-like series for their channel where they would always play the same characters in their videos. Then, they released their first video. They put all effort in the world into it. They decided to show it in school. And all the teachers and students are proud of the 2 girls as the video shows the enourmous amount of creativity the girls have. Madison‘s family then meets Lena and is extremely proud that Madison has found such a close friend. Lena is now closer to Madison than anyone else and starts to talk much less with all her other friends. Lena‘s family is still not supportive though. As they think that Lena‘s life is getting worse and worse, it‘s actually getting better and better. While Madison already had knowledge with RUclips and support from her family and friends, Lena starts to realize that this is a life-changing thing, that she can can talk to the entire world, that she can show off her talents. At this point, Lena‘s family has met Madison and starts to become more supportive. But from Lena‘s and Madison‘s point of view, still not supportive enough. The 2 now use every single minute of free-time they have to work on their channel with such an enourmous level of creativity that their teacher starts to accept the fact that their homework is not done sometimes. Lena and Madison realize that their school teacher is their biggest supporter. When something is going crazy in class, the 2 girls take notes as they can make similar videos from it. Everyday as their channel grows, the girls teacher asks how the channel is going. This makes Lena and Madison incredibly happy as they now wanna give their best in school as well to make their teacher happy the same way. They brilliantly suceed in it as they only get A‘s and B‘s. Lena‘s family now really starts to support her as the channel had reached 20 videos and 10‘000 subscribers by this point. Although they still put school first, which Lena really doesn‘t like since it has always been that way. Then 1 year later, the channel grew to 100‘000 subscribers and this drove the school to surprise the girls with a huge celebration and the girls families to an expensive dinner where the 2 girls pay in order to prove that they can live from it. Lena‘s biggest dream in the world also came true as she and Madison got invited to their very first VidCon. It is at this point where the 2 truly met their second family, their audience. Before VidCon, the 2 prepared an inspiring speech, not knowing that their families were also there. Lena‘s family was now fully aware that their daughter took a great step in life. A few weeks later, they left their school in order to become full-time RUclipsrs and prepared a video in which they played this real-life situation for the first time. Almost all students and teachers helped in filming and playing characters for this video. After showing it to the school, the girls thanked everyone for the amazing support they got over the time and at the end of the day walked away. Fan-meetups, getting the Play-button awards, being recognized on street, getting told that they changed lives in a postive way were all dreams that the 2 once not best friend girls once had. Lena saw that she was able to prove her family wrong as she is barely at home and almost always with Madison. The 2 girls always told themselves that they walked out of a supporting school straight into their true-coming life dreams and kept on growing...
Tim, can u plz tell about creators who started posting comedy videos in 2020 , as this content is difficult to make, there are shorter videos, less video output n utube gives them low impression......what do we do here..?
Love the point about experimenting, Tim. I think I'm going to make a plan to switch one thing up every month and track how it goes. Thanks for the content as always.
Enjoyed the video Fast-paced with helpful information. I have literally listened to every one of your podcasts while running. Thanks for the helpful information and I have learned something from each podcast. We may disagree in this area. My channel didn't grow until I uploaded a new video every day for two years. Casey Neistat said it was the difference for his channel so I said: "let's do the same."
Is there a place that you post openings for analyst positions? I feel I've reached the point that I would be entirely qualified to be a youtube analytic analyst.
How to get more views EASILY?

Almost all students and teachers helped in filming and playing characters for this video. After showing it to the school, the girls thanked everyone for the amazing support they got over the time and at the end of the day walked away. Fan-meetups, getting the Play-button awards, being recognized on street, getting told that they changed lives in a postive way were all dreams that the 2 once not best friend girls once had. Lena saw that she was able to prove her family wrong as she is barely at home and almost always with Madison. The 2 girls always told themselves that they walked out of a supporting school straight into their true-coming life dreams and kept on growing...

I love watching your videos 😍,
I'm a checklist person -- excellent!
Tim, can u plz tell about creators who started posting comedy videos in 2020 , as this content is difficult to make, there are shorter videos, less video output n utube gives them low impression......what do we do here..?
Great tips & tricks thank you sir😇👍
Great video thank you Tim
Love the point about experimenting, Tim. I think I'm going to make a plan to switch one thing up every month and track how it goes. Thanks for the content as always.
Thank you for your tips.
Thanks for the great tips
