      No problem at all! I actually wanted to follow up I had three phone calls with Verizon since I made this video and a technician came to my house this morning. He was supposed to install an Ethernet cable per the supervisor of my area, however when he got here he told me to just plug the extender in coaxial... Apparently even if you don't have TV you can still use coaxial for the extender. One end of the coaxial must be plugged into the router though

    I just upgraded my Verizon Fios internet from a paltry 75/75, which I have had forever to 300/300. It has been a major nightmare. I can't even go into it because it has totally stressed me out being a senior or 75yrs having to deal with a cancer diagnosis. Horrible service, the only person worth anything was the installation person who they eventually sent out because it was so messed up! Next time I will probably switch to Spectrum. How much worse could they be?

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  10 месяцев назад +1

      I'm pretty sure they are all usually similar. As long as it's fiber optic I would say it would be okay. If it is broadband or cable I would avoid it. At least now you're downloads match your upload. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. I wish you the best and hope you get better soon.

      Okay do not pay for coax!!!! I just had a Verizon tech at my house this weekend. I tested the coaxial speed it is half that of the router. So if you're looking to maintain the speeds you have it is horrible. I am about to test the brand new Cr1000a wireless extender replacement. If you have the square router like I do you may want to subscribe and watch my next video. If you don't mind is your issue coverage related? I've been down this road before with Verizon. They have tons of ways around every guarantee they give. They only guarantee wired speeds from your modem. I do not guarantee Wi-Fi speeds. I don't think they care at this point because soon every house will be 5G or Verizon home internet. The days of cable and fiber optics are limited. I did speak to a supervisor who said they may be coming out with another router in a year and a half. Maybe I should complain and try to get money off my bill lol

    • @PizzlesTechTime

      Yes if your Wi-Fi signal is strong you most likely don't need the extender. It is more likely to reduce your speeds than make them better. Depending on the technology your router and extender is using.

    I spent hours between picking up the router and extender from the Verizon store, attempting to install… which never worked. Calling customer support… finally getting tech support that admitted new router does not work wirelessly with new extender. He put in an order for an older router. I went to the Verizon store to pick it up and they told me the order was to swap out for the very same router. So they could do nothing. I would have to call the customer support line. I called the customer support line while I was at the store, the rep stated that they had no other routers. They could only give me the current router that I had, which was the very new one, and that he assured me it was compatible. I told him your tech-support told me it was not compatible and I spent hours trying to set it up and it is not compatible. I ended up requesting a change order to return the extender come to find out they were charging me $20 a month for it so I really don’t need it. I’ll buy it cheaper extender from Amazon and take my $20 a month.

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  7 месяцев назад +3

      That is crazy that you were being charged for the extender. I'm on a promotional plan with Verizon that ends soon. So I decided for the channel sake to take the router to a Verizon store and ask them to help. They gave me a list of telephone numbers half of them were disconnected. I called Verizon the next day. They told me that the wireless extender will not work with my router and then hung up on me. So I figured I'd give it one more shot and text the tech coach that Verizon offers on the mobile app. They then proceeded to try to sell me additional services for 15 minutes before I ask them if they would help me. It took over 45 minutes for them to offer to ship the old router that would work wirelessly. I asked them is this the newest router and they said yes. They will ship me the g3100. At that point I ended the conversation and stopped wasting my time. Verizon is knowingly wasting the customer's time and money. The problem is they will have a new router and a new system coming out by the end of the year. So they really don't care at this point. It really is a shame and I will have to make an update video. I am also looking into a wireless mesh system that will work on Verizon. Apparently you can get rid of your Verizon router all together and use a mesh system. If you get a Wi-Fi 6E mesh system they are fairly cheap. I want Wi-Fi 7 and it is a little bit crazy on the prices right now. Definitely going to keep everyone updated!

I also happen to have been sent the E3200 WiFi extender as well and just like the common trend, it doesn’t work wirelessly and I have no coax/Ethernet in my room that I can connect to. Ok. The problem had fixed finaly. I going to explain in spanish but you can translate if you don speak spanish.

    I spent hours trying every port in our house (military housing wired for Verizon Fios tv and internet supposedly- they ship the routers and you’re supposed to just hook them up and go)… literally NONE of our cable/ethernet ports work except the one coming in the home (“home run” wire that comes into the home to send signal to the other wires via the Ethernet hub in the box)
    Spent over an hour testing every port while on the phone with them- finally got the home run to work and we ordered a WiFi extender since our router is at the back of the home and can’t get the extender to work at all!!!
